Kingdom Hearts 1.5 LE still available!

Please guys, stop focusing on 'value' of things, you'll live a much happier life. If you can't play it now, either return it, or save it for yourself when you get another PS3.

I just called my local target. They still have all four copies, didn't sell one yesterday.
Serious question... why are you so against people talking about value? I can understand disliking the resellers and getting irked at people buying 2 - 3 of ____ rare CE in order to make profit, but that is not what is going on here. Most people here seem to genuinely want the game, but know that KH will drop in price (3D hit $9.99 at BB and it WAS still possible to find the preorder cards if you looked hard enough) and people know that sometimes these editions exist in excess (like I've seen more epic / limited edition of Bulletstorm / The Darkness 2 for instance). Also we're in a busy time of the year with many other games asking for money and most of them deserve it a little more than a HD port of a classic game.

Well if your PS3 has been dead 'for months' and you have no intention on playing the game, offer it to someone for a fair price, who actually wants it. Why does everything always have to evolve around profit?
Why wouldn't it revolve around profit? If it will cost them money to give it back to Amazon (lets say 4% restocking, so they lose a dollar and time / effort to return it) and you CONSTANTLY point out this thing is common, which makes it far less likely / harder to find someone willing to pay extra for the LE ($40 + possible tax + like $5 dollars for shipping vs just going to the store and buying one for $40 + tax, which would be like $42 in MI) and can result in wasted time / effort bumping a topic on CAG. I mean there is doing a nice thing like those who sold the Wizard edition of Ni no Kuni for cost and there is going out of your way to break even. Much rather take the $1 dollar loss than trying to find a buyer to be honest.

:/ I don't think its farfetched to expect this on a BB dotd for $7.99 sometime between now and January.
Limited Edition for $7.99? Unlikely. Though the base game will probably hit $5 - $10 dollars.

This.

I received my Limited Edition yesterday via Amazon and guess what? I actually broke the seal and played it! And the artbook is cool! Can you believe it?
I can and did too.

I doubt LE will be worth anything. No one remembers the "LE" FFXIII-2? They were a dime a dozen.

I'm sorry, but that is just stupid logic. First off, you're comparing a first run edition (meaning it has the same MSRP as the base game) to a limited edition that cost $20 dollars more. Not only that, but the FF CE has a fairly weak offering (OST / smaller artbook than this), which turned many people off. Finally you're comparing Kingdom Hearts to the sequel to one of the most disliked Final Fantasy's of all time.

Is Amazon carrying the regular version or shipping everyone the LE? I'd rather get the regular honestly.
Amazon has taken down the LE and now offers the regular. I had canceled my order and replaced it with a discount in August. Mine has yet to ship, I'm hoping I get the LE. I'm paying $35 for it, I better get the LE. Otherwise, I'm returning and waiting for a drop.

I'm pissed. I preorder mine in early may, but my store said they ran out of le copies on day 1. I didn't want to argue, but it was a little ridiculous to me. Anybody who preorder should of been guaranteed a le copy at best buy, amazon, GameStop, where ever. Square enix should of attached different skus.
The worst part is in the official SE unboxing of the LE, the rep says that anybody that pre ordered the game from a major retailer gets the LE version. And clearly that doesnt seem to be the case :(

The copy of the LE I preordered from Amazon shipped out today using the super saver option. It should be here either Friday or Saturday depending on whether the email or the site tracking is more accurate. With all these people saying it was first come first server even with preorders at stores I am interested to see what version they sent me.

this is a response for customer who did not get a le edition preorder from bestbuy:

Hello Everyone-

While reading over your comments to the issue with the limited edition art book cases, it’s obvious that you are upset with the existing situation.  Believe me when I say that this issue frustrates us as well as we don’t like to disappoint our gaming customers.

With that being said, I wanted to let you know that we are looking into this to see if there is a possible resolution that we can provide for those of you affected.  Once we have more information, we will be contacting you individually via private message with any details we have.

If I don't get it I'll complain just to get the return shipping covered. Honestly it's a hardcover pamphlet with only 12 pages.

I'd rather have a retail plastic case with a single page manual than an art book with no game case.

I am excited to play this on the highest difficulty with the new camera controls. I'm not excited about the stupid reaction commands being added though.

Finally got mine from amazon. I guess UPS was late or something. When I contacted them last night to find out why It didn't arrive on Release day or the expected arrival date the gave me a $10 promo credit as well. Glad I finally got it and that it was in superb condition considering it was late and Vinny mentioned his was crushed, pretty happy!

Congrats man. At least one of us didn't get a pancake'd copy.

I ordered one from WM but their shipping sucks so I'm not getting my hopes up.

No idea what happened but EVERY copy my Gamestop received was the LE (they had over twenty when I was there Tuesday at 5 PM).  They were really confused.  So I can definitely see why some stores are getting some and some are getting none.

Funny, I walked in and just picked up my copy and it was LE from Gamestop... no pre-order (though I spend quite a bit of money there)..  They had at least a handful left when I departed.

They stopped selling it on amazon, Gamestop and bestbuy so it seems like it is actually becoming sorta limited I expect by next week no sites will be selling it unless there is a restock.

Are people who are ordering the vanilla version on amazon getting the limited edition?
I remember reading on Amazon that everyone who pre-orders will get a free upgrade. So until anyone says otherwise, I'll assume it to be true.

Mine came on release day from Amazon...it wasn't crushed. Arrived in great shape. I'm guessing Vinny's was the unfortunate exception rather than the rule.

I'm guessing they are not listing it anymore over the several complains they must have received. I picked up a copy easily Tuesday morning, I wasn't even looking for it, it caught the corner of my eye as I was going to checkout with my Star Trek: Into Darkness Blu-Ray.

I think Vinny just got the Ace Ventura treatment...

Yeah its probably because of the complaints. But also the best buy by me didn't get a single LE and I didn't even know about it till I opened it and got home to find out the Artbook was the game case itself. I thought it was like something you got separately when you picked it up or something like that.

My Target had like 8 copies when I went there. One BBY had 2 copies sitting on the shelf. The BBY I pre-ordered at apparently got 0 copies. All the Gamestops I went to/asked about said they only had enough to cover pre-orders.

So your best bet is probably Target. They do a horrible job advertising new releases anyways. I had to get one of their employees to find it for me -.-

Yeah mine came in good condition, I mean on the bottom left there is a tiny ding but it's hardly noticeable. It also came in a bubble mailer. What's stupid is I also ordered puppeteer for PS3 and that came in a nice cardboard mailer same day.

Fast shipping on best buys part. Ordered around 630pm Monday and got it yesterday afternoon.

The website said limited edition with a weight of .80, limited edition came just like they said.

So does anyone know if the LE and regular actually have the same game disc?  At least with the 1st print of Dead Space 2 and AC Revelations they included an extra game.

Same here with every store. One tip with GameStop though, they will ALWAYS say copies are for preorder only. It's their way of getting you to put down $5 for the next game.

Why are people freaking out? The LE version is hardly limited. LOL
I've been saying this for a week here. It's the bottom feeders, just like market insiders who try to push penny stocks, causing drama in the hopes it sells out and increases in 'value'.

They should be the same, since this edition doesn't have anything extra on the disc.

Well you're going off day 1 stock, which also includes vanilla copies of the game, so this could become a pricy item down the road. Remember that rarity / edition size are only one factor in actual value. Like every GameStop received something like 5 or 6 Kyurem figures, which means there is probably well over 20,000 of these figures in the US alone... yet there are a good number of auctions on eBay that sold for more than the game + figure originally cost.

My copy from Amazon was in perfect condition thankfully, even though it was only in a bubble mailer. I have to say that Square really did a nice job with at least the final mix update from what I've seen so far from playing. The game looks fantastic although they didn't really fix the cameras auto mode in any perceptible way that I can tell it's still as wonky as ever.

Yeah? While "limited" is a relative term I can assure you it is limited in some respects. Just because your gamestop or Target had some, the day after release, doesn't mean it's not going to be hard to find a week or month from now...

and most games don't fall into the "hard to find a month after release" category.

Don't forget that we're already finding vanilla copies too.

Very rarely do we see vanilla copies this fast and will no doubt push a lot of people to pick up the LE ones while they can. Even then, most things remain fairly common to find before they become worth something (not saying this matters, but it is true).

- Metroid Trilogy hit $10 dollars new before being worth $100+

- Xenoblade was a $30 dollar game for a while before being a $100+ title.

- Demon Souls DX took a few weeks to sell out, then started going for $120+.

- I recall reports of MGS Collection LE hitting shelfs before they started going for $100+.

- The Legend of Zelda 3DS was EASY to find on BLACK FRIDAY, yet a people are willing to pay $169+ dollars for a used one in any real condition (mind you, this thing wasn't even an XL...)

- KH Mark of the Mastery edition got a discount on the Square Store or something and was somewhat hard to find, but went on to be worth a fair amount of money.

These are just some examples off the top of my head, though a lot of things that start off common tend to be worth something down the road.

You are right, in a way. The problem is rarity is relative nowadays because people hoard. Just look at this thread, how many want to keep it sealed for resale. People aren't buying this in stores to play, they're buying it to make $10 a month from now. So in a month it'll be "omg rare and sold out" not because people wanted it, but scumbags thought they can pull a profit.

Believe it or not, there are a lot of people that just like to have a sealed copy for their collection... a good number of people actually buy 1 to play and 1 to display, which might be stupid to others, but this is how they want to use their money. Also, don't forget that it doesn't someone a cent to troll, so don't be surprised if some of those "I bought 6 to resell later" posts are just ploys to piss people off. CAG use to be a better site that didn't have so many of those people (both trolls and resellers), but this is all really relative to what you think of morally right and wrong.

Like buying this CE to resell later for "$10 extra dollars" is no different than buying cheap games to flip. The end result in exactly the same... Someone who could have wanted the game might have missed out and the other person effectively "screwed" that person over by flipping the game.

Yup. I buy two copies of a game every now and then for that very purpose. But sometimes, I just buy one copy and don't open it if I'm not going to play it right away. When I am ready to play it, I check the resale price of new copies. If the value is higher than MSRP, I keep my copy sealed and just buy a used copy. If it's less, I just open that mofo.

I rarely lose money this way as most things keep their value, at the very least. One of the only instances I lost money was with Killzone 3 Helghast Edition, which I bought for $80. Due to lack of demand and it's size, it was basically worthless but I was luckily able to find someone who wanted it locally for $45. Not a huge loss.

For some reason, I can't return my order. It's not even listed in my orders page. WTF? Nevermind, guess it was a temp glitch.

I really don't get all the hate on the digibook case compared to a normal case. It uses a full page disc tray that is sturdier than most normal game cases I have ever had. I have had no trouble removing the disc from the tray but maybe some are tighter than others. The art book protects the top of the disc and the whole thing slides into the slip cover.

If you are OCD about the uniformity of your collection on a shelf then yeah this will stand out as it is quite a bit taller than a normal PS3 case. The book does slide out of the slip cover pretty easy so this probably isn't something you should just throw into a bag when you head over to your buddys house. The game itself is pretty safe but the cover on the book is probably pretty easy to rough up.

If you have kids or you yourself tend to just throw your games around then yeah the normal plastic shell case would probably be more durable over the long term. As basically a free upgrade though, the art book version turned out pretty nice.

Hmmm.

Stopped by a Wal-Mart today for Star Trek blu-ray, and happened to scope out the PS3 section. They had a handful of Kingdom Hearts STANDARD edition in the game case. No sign at all of the LE version.

Has anyone received their online order from wal-mart yet? I'm getting a very strong feeling it's going to end up like the Best Buy situation. I'm thinking I'll look around at Target or wherever and see if I can grab a copy just to be sure I actually get it.

I received my Limited Edition from Amazon on Tuesday. They shipped it in a padded envelope so the upper-center edge of the LE box was dented a little. Nothing crazy, but I wish they would have shipped it in a cardboard mailer like they do with some past, high-profile blu-ray releases.

Preordered my LE 2 days before it came out at Best Buy. Was available for pickup on release.  I only saw one other LE version but i think they only got enough LE's for the people preordered.

I'm keeping my copy sealed. I would open it, but the goddamn trophies require you to do 9 playthroughs. KH is going straight to the back of my backlog. Maybe after Christmas I'll start it...

And I know Gamestop spews shit out about "pre-orders only" but they only got like 5 copies total. I'm just going by that number. Maybe the second shipment will have more LEs. Who knows. It's a good sign that Amazon has more in stock though.

Haha mine is not showing up until Tuesday of next week. Best Buy is the slowest ever.
They shipped mine the day I ordered it (3 days ago) from only a few states away, and it's still in the process of getting to me. Man, UPS is never this slow... They're driving all over the place before they come here. I hope nothing happens to it during its long journey.
