Yeah, Terraria is a great game. I have over 200 hours myself and finally got a bit bored with it. I am sure I will go back to it eventually. Its a shame they don't add more content to that game. You would think with the user base that it would be well worth the investment. The one weak part I had with it is there is no story. Imagine if a company like Spiderweb Software did a full fledged RPG stye game, story and all, in the style of Terraria. I am not sure I would ever stop playing it. I have no doubt it would become one of my all time favorite games. I am really hoping with all the Indie developers out there, that someone will attempt something like that some day. One can hope!
I think they are working on the mobile version, then going back to work on Xbox version. They've said along time ago that they wanted to bring the new stuff to Xbox.

I'm sure someone has asked this before, but I couldn't find the answer. Does anyone know if using a 48 hour xbox live trial will allow you to download the free game of the month? Once again sorry if this has already been discussed.

Not that there is any point in selling people on a free game, but Might and Magic is a puzzle game first and foremost. Developed by the same people who made Critter Crunch (it plays similarly to it, too). I thought it was a really, really fun when I played it a few years ago. I feel like people complaining about the "combat" were just expecting the wrong thing.
Yeah, I loved Critter Crunch and so far I'm loving M&M: CoH too. I guess you kinda have to be a fan of match three games to get much out of it, and I think those disliking it probably expected something more along the lines of a full blown RPG or strategy game. It has elements of those, but for the most part they are secondary to the match three mechanics. I'm having a ton of fun so far though, very happy to get it for free ^_^

Same here. was going to buy it last time, but the backlog prevented it. So glad I didn't now that I got it for the ultimate price.
Cant wait for the deal reveals. Most likely we will get some Halo 3 DLC to go with Halo on the 16th. Hope the rest is something good that I need. after the hammer strikes M$ dished out I don't want to have money saved in my account.

Just saw this "@majornelson: . @Wordament (with achievements) is available for Android (4.0.3 and up)http://t.co/kgeRUy77dg

m.twitter.com/majornelson"
are there any other android games that give Xbox achievements? I though only the Windows phone had that as a gimmick.

It's a fair expectation though since it's a hybrid game. Not like people expecting a pure puzzle game would be happy with how slow it is and how you have to grind for certain things if you want them. It's a good game but it has things that hold it back. I always say, without the boss fights I may have really liked it but bosses in a puzzle based game are just way too hard to make work without considerable frustration for some people.

Let's see, first week I won't be able to buy sale games.  With my luck, I'm sure the three games I was waiting for will drop.  If you're curious, those are
Battleblock, Castlestorm, and Phantom Breaker.

Alright people, I think I'm ready to make an official announcement, so prepare your butts.

I have been formerly requested by Mr. Tyler himself (who is still mourning his losses, poor guy) to continue this thread in his stead, and I have accepted.

So, you may be wondering what this means for YOU, loyal reader of this thread! Well, it means:

- A new thread (this one was getting large anyways) will be started sometime between tonight and tomorrow (tonight if the prices drop early like they've been doing lately).

- This thread shall be locked, and then cremated sometime around when the new thread is created.

- Until Wikis are permanently fixed (God knows when that'll be), I'll manage the OP on my own, but will most likely participate heavily when it becomes a wiki.

- Since I'm rusty when it comes to BBcode, the OP may have some growing pains, but I will slave over it until it is pretty again. This also means that updates may not be immediate, but since I actually have Tuesdays off from any sort of responsibility, chances are I will update within the day.

- For those of you who care, ACHIEVEMENT NOTES WILL PERMANENTLY RETURN. That's pretty much the only new thing I'll be adding to the OP directly.

- I am thinking of updating the "Impressions" section we currently have, more frequently. But there's a catch, in order for a recommendation to be added, it'll need to reach some sort of "Like" quota. I still haven't quite figured out the particulars, but I think it's a decent idea. Will absolutely take feedback on this aside from "It's just clutter" since it'll remain a separate post.

- We have a very friendly community who comes to this thread (and this one only), and likes to offer to play together semi-frequently. Since posting GTs and such has never received any moderator backlash, I'd like to further promote this type of behaviour. I'm not exactly sure what I want to do, but most likely I will reserve an extra post (so as to not clutter the OP) on the first page in case I figure something out. This is another thing I will take feedback on, once implemented.

- Speaking of moderator backlash, now that the banning waves have more or less ceased (and Microsoft has made its point about foreign marketplace content), foreign pricing discussions will be heavily discouraged. If not because of the possible pruning/nuking by moderators (like what happened over in the freebies section), then to avoid tempting those who are unaware of Microsoft's recent iron fist on the matter. Same reason we don't discuss modding in here. There are plenty of other places to participate in that sort of talk. This talk is not outright banned (as of now), and this decision is not final (Hungarian prices do remain relevant to the Europeans in here). But at the very least, no more discussion about goodies on marketplaces that don't exist, okay? Recent bannings can still be discussed.

I think that about covers everything. I look forward to starting this new era with the lot of you.

Edit: O hai Tyler. I almost forgot, I'd like to maintain your "Stuff Never On Sale" list after I get used to doing this thread. So don't go too far.

I'm in favor of both of these things. Thanks for being willing to take over the thread!

I'm not sure you (or anyone) can view how many "likes" a post has, unless I'm missing something.

Cool. It's a pretty simple copy/paste job if you want to recreate it. I can also just add you as a contributer on that Google Docs file if you want to PM me your email address.

You can if you're the poster (in your notifications) or if you're logged out. Not really sure why that is.

Alright, but to avoid more than one headache at a time, I'll get back to you on that.

I like this idea, but the one problem is that you can't currently see when a posted has been liked, at least not when logged in. I don't know that you want to have to look over all the posts while logged out in order to see how many likes a certain posts has received, so that would be a reason I think it might not work particularly well. Otherwise I certainly am in favor of more impressions in the OP:)

Oh wow I never realized that. Probably because I very rarely browse CAG without being signed in.
Actually, I'm always logged out when I come back to CAG after a while (so I can catch up) until I either want to post or reply to a post. Most likely because I am used to lurking here and because there are less replies per page when I log in (100something pages vs. 520 pages when logged in). :) Not sure if this'll change after I assume OP duties, we'll see.

I honestly have no clue why it's like this. I've posted on other forums that run on the same software that CAG does now, and I've always been able to see who's liked what, so I think someone has just forgotten to flip a switch during the update. Unfortunately myself and others have been asking about it in the support forum and have gotten nowhere :whistle2:(

You can change that in your account settings under posts per page.

Yeah, not really sure what's up with the lack of staff/moderators lately.

I just did! Thank you, I never bothered to fiddle with it. There's still less pages when I'm signed out, but now it's 209* instead of 520. It's weird because the next option is 50 posts a page, but that'd cut it down to less pages than when I'm signed out. :/

Edit: Also, still no drops yet. Only thing that's recent is FC3 is down to $29.99 (not Gold-exclusive). Maybe an Ubisoft publisher sale week?

I heard the sad news, tylerh1701 about what Micro-(Transaction)-$oft did. I'd die if i ever lost my Gamertag and cheesemints. I do have it tattooed on me afterall :hot: . I'm sad to see you go as Admin, but i always welcome anyone who can take over.

I just noticed that Farcry 3 dropped its MSRP from $39.99 to $29.99 btw

Thanks for offering to take over the thread, Bobbytastic, and thanks to tyler for maintaining it this far even with his unfortunate ban!

I do like the impressions idea and love the achievements info. Let's hope for a great DOTW to kick off the new thread! :)

Just a heads up...I think something is wrong with the marketplace today. Saw someone mention on another forum that they bought a game but there was an error and the game isn't in their purchase history. I checked the xbox forums and there's more people saying they got the error the first time (but getting charged) and their purchasing is getting "locked" the 2nd time.

My brother had this issue this morning downloading the BF4 beta and it locked his account. If you get locked out, you just need to change your contact email address on commerce.microsoft.com to something else.

Well, I'm sure that BobbyTastic will do a good job with the thread as well, since he's one of the regulars.

I've been thinking that a new thread would be made once this one reached 500+ pages.

well if the mods didn't clean this topic up so many times I'm sure it's be way past 500. :p

Agreed, I downloaded this not really knowing what to expect, and I immediately got hooked. I'm in the 3rd single player campaign (the undead one) and I'm loving it. I think the combat system is a fun strategy puzzle.

R.I.P.D, Pacific Rim and Guardians of Middle Earth are coming up as half off for Gold members.  I hope this isn't some sale for games based on movies.

So we have Guardians of the Middle Earth, RIPD, Pacific Rim, Aliens and Star Trek all Gold Only 50%off.

There's also some BOII stuff but I'm not sure if it matters.

Glad I grabbed Zeno Clash last week.

Just wanna join everyone in saying, thanks tyler for the work you've put in here.

BobbyTastic, eager to see the new thread, particularly the expanded impressions and community sections.

fuck these deals...

Looks like ya nailed it.
Just gonna take this chance and thank Tyler while we are in this thread. I signed up for CAG because of the Contest & Free Stuff area but ever since I've found this thread this is what's been keeping me around. Great Job Tyler, it's a shame what happened to your account.

Damn and just when I was trying to get rid of my excess M$ money. I so regret not getting Call of Juarez. There is still hope they mix something else in there.

I don't post in here as often as most of you, but I always appreciated the work Tyler put into the thread and I used it on a weekly basis, so let me hop aboard the kudos train as well. Plus, he is one of the better posters on CAG in general. I'm sure he will still be around and posting a ton in the new thread.
