you are the first person i've seen that wants gfwl back :p

i noticed arkham city goty appeared in my library

is it free weekend? does anone know? i don't see anything on the steam news page
There's at least 7,772 others that also want it. All I wanted was a warning so I could play them before removing achievements. http://www.trueachievements.com/Batman-Arkham-City-PC/achievements.htm

Also all game saves were deleted. That might interest those that have played it, but do not care about Xbox achievements. Especially perfectionists.

Well, that kinda sucks. I probably wasn't going back to AC but this is something of an additional demotivator.

can you check if it is in your library? and try to restart steam

because i didn't have goty either and now steam says i own it

thank you

My mistake, I set my library to ALL and it shows GOTY as a separate title that I own. I was looking at my installed game and thinking it would transform into GOTY.

Cool but still feel like an idiot for buying that DLC. I got Nightwing, Robin, and Harley Quinn packs, and I thnk the Batman skin pack also.

Gonna download GOTY version now!
I had the regular version of City plus all the DLC. Now I have entries for both the regular version and the GOTY. Cool, I guess...

Had an update for both Arkham games. I only started Asylum and GFWL is gone. I'm guessing City is the same. Is there any way to get it back? Wish they would warn us about removing features before doing so.
Crap, I'll have to play through Asylum before I let it update so I don't have to start over. Didn't download City yet so I'm not going to get those achievements. I was going to double up on my gamerscore, :joystick:

Glad I didn't spend much time accomplishing extra objectives and collectibles in City, with the save being erased. I might play it over again but I don't know, with Origins coming out so soon... Does anyone know if you can play Harley Quinn DLC without having played the main game?

Talisman Prologue keys are now available in your Desura Collections page: http://www.desura.com/collection (Indie Gala Colossus). Previously we had been told to send in a receipt screenshot to Nomad Games support.

RE: Arkham City saves... has anyone tried importing the save game from your GFWL folder?

I'm so, so glad I didn't start Bioshock 2 or Batman AA/AC on Steam yet.  I played AA on PS3 way back in the day, but I'd rather have all my achievements in Steam now.

So yeah.  I've actually been WAITING for them to hurry up and "fix" Batman so it had Steam achievements (since they've been showing for months, just not activated).

To anyone who says, "Why didn't they warn us?" you should be aware that MS warned you when they said they were shutting down GFWL.  Any publisher who cares is going to be moving to another system altogether.  The ones who don't won't.  Also, this is better for the long run since it's also removing the DRM other than Steam, so it's a win-win.

Now if after all that you're still displeased, well you'll find you're in the minority and that most Steam users are thrilled to see GFWL go bye-bye.  If only they'd swap Bulletstorm over.

Wut?

Everybody gets upgraded to GOTY! YES WB!

Humble Bundle Weekly Sale (Hothead Games) is up:

https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly

Tier 1:

Deathspank
Deathspank: Thongs of Virtue
On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One

Tier 2, $6:

On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode Two
The Baconing
I played and smirked at Penny Arcade 1&2, so only the base tier for me this time. I've wanted the DeathSpanks for the Ron Gilbert influence, but I'll get the Baconing later I guess, less than the $5 it would cost me.

Does this mean that the activation limit for Batman AC is gone too?
Batman has no limits now! Downloading AA right now!

damn I lost my damn saved files. 70% on AA and 35% on AC, at least I already finished Fallout 3 GOTY. But on the upside I can replay both of these without them crashing constantly because of GFWL.

I got a 90% off coupon for Two Worlds II Castle Defense. Is this game worth $1.20? Also does anyone know what 3rd party DRM is included. This is a Topware/Reality Pump Studios game but I don't see any information about DRM on the store page other than an angry red box.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/7530/
If you think about it like a few quarters in an arcade machine it's probably not a big loss, but...

never played it but
3 machine activation limit
Snoop says noooo.

Also, Reality Pump is the most cringe inducing developer name out there.

Welp, I guess I'll be trying to get those Batman Arkham games in a future sale.
So, not now? http://store.steampowered.com/search/?snr=1_5_9__12&term=Batman#term=Batman&category1=998&sort_order=ASC&page=1

Any criticisms of FE:LH? Always been tempted by it
I only put in a dozen or so hours, but I didn't like it. The only 4x games I've played are Civ V and Warlock, but I felt like the progression in LH was difficult and unintuitive. Also the graphics really rubbed me the wrong way. Has nothing to do with modernity (even though it is a recent game) - I think the art style is just BAD. I paid a good chunk of change for the game, and despite that I don't think I'll return to it, not when I have so much else waiting in my backlog.

Has anyone else had trouble listing cardz today? I click "sell an item" and set the price and it seems fine but when I check the listings mine just don't show up.

I can list but I can't search the market, no results when I search for Arkham or anything else.

So, how are the opinions on Endless Space? It's been on my wish list for a while but I'd like the opinions of you all, since you seem to know well when it comes to PC games.

Many years ago when I was but a young gamer on a 386, I played Master of Orion 1 and 2 endlessly and I still go back to it every so often! Is the game as fun and challenging as that game used to be? The game seems to have reviewed decently well but I haven't really found myself drawn to any space civ type games since trying Master of Orion 3 years ago and being incredibly disappointed. Does the gameplay hold up and scratch that "just one more turn" itch that civ does? If so, the price seems right at 75% off.

Given the developers dick move not to discount the DLC when the base game+dlc is actually cheaper, kinda seems like someone I dont want to give my money to.

Haven't seen it mentioned:

If you bought The Getaway Bundle from Indie Royale, it now has Steam Keys for Super Amazing Wagon Adventure.

If they had called it Super Amazing Wagon Venture, we could abbreviate it SAW V. What a waste.

Amen!

I used to defend ES a little bit fanatically specially to those who hated the combat mechanics. But now I wont buy those endless games they plan to release until its bundled or 75% off for the game+dlc edition.

w00t while the Steam market was down I couldn't check Arkham Asylum card prices so I listed my three cards at .37 each and one sold. Gotta scale the other two back to around .25 now.

Dick Chaney?

Who is bitchmade?

According to the legalese scribed by Master P, there ain't no limit on this coupon. Stack bundles.

It goes well with my unrestricted Zeno Clash 2 coup.

I did like it when it first came out, played for a month or so but havent been back lately, not sure why. I did enjoy it, even though for some reason I seem to be the only one who could never win a damn game despite following basic strategies posted around. For me it was a little bit of the 'one more turn' but definitely not as much as with civ. Once you've had everything explored and are just building up it slows down a bit, where as civ doesnt have as much of that and usually has something coming up at least every couple turns

As others have said though their DLC non-discount is a real dick move. I did support them in the beginning, buying in to their beta program and what not, but to now see the game+dlc actually be cheaper than the DLC by itself is just a kick in the nuts to founding supporters. Of course you'll see that plastered all over the forums, have a feeling most founding people wont touch the dlc until its ~2.50. So that being said I have no idea if the DLC is good, worth it, destroys the original gameplay as some have posted about, who knows

Man, I had Arkham City Vanilla with all DLC, almost got all the achievements... and now I have an additional Arkham City GOTY entry with no achievements. I was -this close- to getting a 100% on Arkham City and now I have to do it all over again.

I -didn't- lose my original Arkham City savegame, which is good since this means I still have a shot at 1000ing before GFWL goes kaput, but it's still annoying. I wish they could just flip a switch and turn our old AC into GOTY without adding a second game.

On the other hand, I got 100% on Arkham Asylum GOTY and GFWL murdered my savegame a day after I did it, so I don't mind playing through the game for the new Steam achievements again.

(Also of note, I tried playing Arkham Asylum with the 360 pad and I just can't do it. It's too clunky.)

Great...so neither of my Non-Steam G4WL keys for Batman: AA (from G4WL) or Batman: AC (from Origin) are activating-up on Steam. :(

Word, this 17.3GB download is taking forever.

Son of a bitch, I got up to 8.3GB downloaded, took a break to play some Mafia 2, when I went back to Steam the download restarted from zero!

You don't have to redownload it all, actually. Delete your current in-progress download, and copy the CookedPC folder from steamapps\common\batman2 to "steamapps\common\Batman Arkham City GOTY". Then try to install the game. Steam will see all the stuff that's already been downloaded and grab the rest.

As for the download restarting, that's because the game had GFWL and Securom removed, and then PATCHED BACK IN, due to some configuration problems. They should be fixing this soonish.

Edit: Looks like the fix is live, it's all good now.

What's everybody's opinions on these stardock games? I have mild interest in all of them, am debating buying the whole pack. But then don't you know there's gonna be a stardock humble bundle in like a week after this probably.

Nope, that one popped on there and reminded me. I guess this is kind of a belated post...I've been eyeing that for a bit though. glad I haven't gotten it yet. But I recently got Anachronox, Startopia, and one or two others that were on sale recently. They all went onto Steam right after the sales, or close to it. Which is probably why they were on sale in the first place.
