It's okay to admit you're jelly

Has anybody played Lego marvel superheros? Any good? Any better than the same old same old lego gameage?
I put in an hour. I'm enjoying it so far. In many ways its more of the same. Tiny improvements here and there but the same lego game formula over all. Thus far anyway. But I am having lots of fun with the marvel roster and I believe there are 159 characters to unlock. I picked the game up from Jakenome for $16 so if your interested it's not a bad price. I'm having a good time, more than I did with DC super heroes anyway.

I don't think I've ever seen a Steam-version of TDU2 sold OUTSIDE of the actual Steam store-front itself.

Also, that game often comes w/ that crappy Securom Internet-activation DRM.

Bioshock 1 is a game that has different DRM at different places.

Bioshock 1 on GameFly uses their own DRM; Retail disc uses Securom Internet activation; and I think Steam-version only uses Steam DRM.

If you're talking about Driver: San Francisco - I think that always requires UPlay everywhere.

I have it directly from Uplay.

I don't have it from GameFly, so someone else can speak on that.

Dirt 2 currently and unfortunately AT LEAST requires G4WL everywhere.

I don't see if listed as a Steam-version on GameFly.

I actually have that game directly from Steam.
Haha, well that post has to make you feel good about DRM. It's like you've gotta check 10 different things before making a purchase. You might be right about TDU2 though. I've seen it on sale on Amazon a couple times, but yeah...no Steam key. It's not even like it's a great game...but the in car views have always been really nice in TDU...and I want to see if I can get it to work with my Oculus Rift. It's very odd that I've been conditioned to want something less when it doesn't have a Steam key though.

"Yeah, but you can still load it to your Steam library"

"But it's not the same!"

Weird.

Hopefully if there are any flying characters it'll have better flying controls than in Lego Batman 2. Very awkward, in the open world streets at least.

Actually, I love TDU2. Yeah, I have it from Amazon DVG - it's Securom Internet DRM there. While TDU2 does have a steep learning curve at the jump - once one gets by it, the game-world is a racing sand-box.

It's one of those games that I eventually wind-up back to, every few months.

EDIT:

About DRM - yeah, it's crazy when there's different-versions w/ different DRM's everywhere. Hard to keep-up with it, when they go that route.

Worrrd. I'm interested, but not 16 dollar interested. Once I can get it for 5 bucks I'll bite.

Anyone have any opinions on Euro Truck Sim 2? Jakenome has the gold version for $9.50. Demo wasn't bad but I don't feel fully sold on it either,

I love that game. It's really well done, and it's actually really relaxing to play and just enjoy driving around Europe. Depending on how authentic you want the controls to be, it can be extremely challenging as well (They can be made very basic as well...and the game has controller support). One of the coolest features is the ability to import internet radio streams in the game so you can listen to music while driving. If you enjoy simulation games, it's probably one of the best.

And actually, that's a steal for the Gold edition. The DLC was just released like a month ago, and Steam regularly sells it alone for $12.99 (it's currently $9.74 on sale). If I didn't already have the base game, I'd be all over that.

Ooooh, Thief series is great. :D
Can anyone comment on how the Thief games hold up? I remember hearing great things and maybe playing a demo back when the first one came out, but that's a long time ago. Those screenshots look pretty ugly now...

edit: also curious about how the Legacy of Kain games on sale hold up. Those I did play, but might be interested in going back for nostalgia's sake.

Friggin Batman. It said it was 100% done so I go to play it and it needs another 18 minutes to do whatever it's doing before I can play it.

It seems one of the config file tweaks you can do with Enslaved is increase shadow resolution. I'll probably buy it from Jake for post-Batman/pre-AC4.

I haven't gotten into the Thief games yet, but there are graphics mods that will make them look a bit better. Then there's this mod http://www.moddb.com/mods/thief-gold-hd-texture-mod/ which looks like it may be a pretty substantial improvement. I'm waiting to dig in til that comes out. The modder said in early september it should be out fourth quarter of 2013, which means it should be out pretty soon. And even if you can't stand the graphics, Thief 2 and 3 must look a bit better, I would think.

Waiting for Batman Arkham Origins to unpack itself.... :whee:
I still need to play arkham city. Don't know why I've waited this long. I really enjoyed Asylum, and City was pretty much universally considered to be a better game. Then again, I can look at my backlog and say "why haven't I played this yet" to a whole bunch of games. Too many good games out there. Good problem to have :)

Anyone know how to make a game show up in SAM? Risen isn't showing though it is in my library.
SAM only shows games that you own that have achievements. Risen doesn't have any. Look up the game's id by searching it on Steam's store webpage. It'll be in the url. Put it in the top box on SAM and hit Add Game. Risen's is 40300.

That's a great problem to have :D

I liked both Batman's immensely. Although, I might be in the minority in that I liked Arkham Asylum more than Arkham City. There was just something about the whole introduction to a finally well made Batman game. The combat style, the environment, the story, the characters, etc... AA felt complete and strong, as where AC felt a lot more open where you could skip around and do whatever whenever. AC felt loose and you could get distracted doing side quest stuff. Not a bad thing, but the main story would get pushed aside at times. Both were very good no doubt. I just hope Origins is more of the same. Why mess with something that isn't really broken.

Thanks! I didn't even realize there was a text box on there. It needs a little shadow or gradient.

Batman Origins runs great, I maxed out everything but AO and PhysX and it's sticking mostly to 60fps on my 560 Ti. I haven't tried turning up the AO.

Dat cape.

The first two Batman games are really well optimized as well; they run great on my measly single core processor laptop. I expected the same sort of quality for this one.

The original GFWL Arkham City ran like shit, I think most people thought so. At least in DX11.

I haven't installed the latest drivers, I'm using 320.49.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 is pretty awesome. I am waiting for going east to go down a bit, but if you are even vaguely intrigued by the game, do yourself a favor and get it. It is no wonder why so many ppl on the forum go "i can't believe I am playing this". I never knew that I would enjoy driving a 18wheeler.

Final Fantasy 7 = $5.99 for now, at least. The voucher isn't working for this HORROR title.

Anybody?

Definitely make sure to tell us if it's a "fun" bad or a "this is torture" bad, m'kay? :)
It's "this is torture" bad. And none of you should ever buy it because doing so gives these people reason to make the fucking trilogy they have planned.

Well now I have to support it, Just to see what happens
For a much better time, you can just have Kevin Sorbo give you a proper Cleveland Steamer, rocking back and forth on your chest to flatten out the shit.

Wow, three sudden removed Steam game comebacks! I'm gonna grab Riddick. Ghostbusters I'm not sure about - I do have a 360 copy I could just dump on ebay to cover the cost of it. Do you guys think this is a mistake by GS, or are these games coming back to Steam for good?

Ghostbusters and Chronicles of Riddick are available to buy from Gamestop. Both have Steam keys.
Are there any issues with Riddick on steam? I recall reading that the GOG copy runs better. Maybe it was extra DRM issues with the steam copy. I can't call it.

I played it on 360 awhile ago and was surprised- intense atmosphere and solid fun. It is definitely worth $5 if there are no issues running it on steam.

I think people were complaining about the Tages DRM, I haven't heard anything about it causing issues with the game but I can't be sure.

It has Tages DRM. Eugh. I still bought it and got my key without issue.

Tried to do the same for Ghostbusters and....nothing. Order went through, they have my money, but I only got an "You have authorized a payment to Impulse, Inc." email from paypal. Dafuq?

Did you try using the client to get the key? Sometimes they force you to use it to get Steam keys.

Yeah, it's not showing up in my game list and I didn't get a confirmation email like I did for Riddick. Whatevs, I need my beauty sleep, hopefully there'll be a key waiting for me in the morn.
