It's been like almost an hour, brah. Almost an hour and I ain't got shit.
They probably ran out of keys then.

I finally bit on Sleeping Dogs during the summer sale at 75%, but of course haven't touched it before this 80% sale, sigh.. Eh, no matter, it went right near the top of the stack, plan to play it shortly to scratch the open-world itch and help prevent me from caving on a console version of GTA V. Must be strong.

My question is one that always comes up when SD goes on sale, but I had trouble finding the previous responses in this thread - of the 3 story DLCs (Year of the Snake, Zodiac Tournament, Nightmare in North Point), which ones are worth it, if any? Nightmare is 80% off, $1.39, for Halloween, and the other two are at 50% like the rest of the DLC. I kind of remember seeing opinions that the base game has a ton of content, and none of them are really necessary. Maybe I'll at least grab Nightmare for a buck+change?

edit: Seconding any recommendations for Ninja Blade, finished it on 360 a while back - fun action game, but what sets it apart are its absolutely over-the-top setpieces, really creative and quite a spectacle. I had forgotten it was by From Software, now glad to make the connection after playing 3D Dot Game Heroes/Demon's Souls/Dark Souls.. Definitely worth $4 if you're tempted at all.
It's all preference really. I hated Nightmare in North Point, and I was one of the people that got the game and DLC when it was price glitched. It's worth the risk to see if you'll like it at $1.39.. but it's not very good.

None of the Sleeping Dogs DLC is good really. Get the base game, by the time you play it and think you might like the couple extra hours it'll have been on sale 40 times since then and you can decide then.

Well, I think I've gone crazy, but this Halloween sale is looking like a whole bushel of tasty caramel candied apples. So, I thought if any CAG-migos are interested I'm hosting just a few group buys (made possible by the Panda).

And to make this post more relevant to this thread, is anyone digging what that Nether game could be? I'm intrigued by it.

Thinking of picking up Outlast too, that just looks scary and fun and scary. Tempted by the Joe Danger Bundle, Giana Sisters: Twisted Bundle, and Miasmata as well. Maybe a few others too... Damn this Halloween sale. :whee:

I loved this sale. Already got Giana sisters bundle, I have no mouth and I must scream, orcs must die franchise pack, and Vampire:the Masquerade. There were a few others I wanted, but I figured I'd wait - they'll all reach these prices again, and hopefully get cheaper. But yeah, sweet sale.

I'm curious if the coming daily deals will have a similar theme; perhaps games not already part of the sale that will receive similar high discounts. Also, preferably games that panda can't buy so I can spend my bux :)

If the Max Payne midweek and Mercenary Kings daily give any hints, I doubt it. But I'll cross my fingers. I do love turning out the lights and immersing myself in a creepy game.

Nether does look good. I'd be all over it if it was cheaper and if I didn't have an awesome list of scary games to run through the next month. I'll be celebrating Halloween through Thanksgiving but it should be fun. I like the three beta invites you get with purchase of Nether, but I'm a little put off by the in game gold thing.

Am I the only one that can't find anything to buy from the Halloween sale? I'm grabbing Silent Hill Homecoming from Jake, but that's mainly because I own the rest of the games on PC/360/Xbox and I like collecting them.

I'd buy Giana Sisters RotO but they're shitting on anyone that bought the original game before the sale and only giving a 50% off discount, while the bundle is 80% off.. so yeah, not buying that.

Typing of the Dead interests me, but it's the only game I've ever seen release at 50% off, plus it's Sega so you know that'll be 75% off in no time (I'm guessing 75% off by the winter sale).

Joe Danger looks cool, but seems like it'll be bundle fodder.. What's left to buy at 75% off that I don't already have? lol

Started to play Outlast tonight while slowly drinking my first beer, almost spit that shit on monitor shortly thereafter. Game looks as though it's going to be highly atmospheric (my favorite kind of game.) Very excited to finished this.

This game made me jump like a horror movie never has. Really awesome game and looks great. I still haven't finished it, but looking forward to it.

Nothing really interested me, either. And while there are about 30ish games on my Steam wishlist the vast majority are 'wait for bundle' status or 75% off.

Nah, I'm not that excited about much either. I'd like to get Swapper, Sang Froid, a couple other smaller games but I'm not frothing at the mouth. Plus I just bought SR IV and Batman Blackgate and those are keeping me plenty busy (and cost a lot more than these indies).

PWYW (10 cents minimum) for I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream Steam key, along with some other stuff.
Wow, great find! There goes the one thing I was definitely getting from the Steam sale. I recommend this game to adventure fans who enjoy twisted scifi. This one is a good bit off the beaten path. I actually enjoyed the game much more than the short story it's based on.

I think this was talked about when Amazon had them on sale...  but wasn't the DRM pulled from Bioshock 1?

If not...  Is it so bad that I shouldn't get the game...?  Its that SecuROM stuff that I think everyone really hates... Thinking of doing a 2 pack of it and Bioshock 2...  (Plus a whole lot of other stuff.)

Edit: Never mind....  I think I'm confused with the Arkham games...  I see no Steam Achievements on the first.

Couldn't say no to I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream for that price. I can also use that month of VPN next month.

You ought to be using Enhanced Steam, it would let you know if there is third party DRM with a rather hard to miss red banner on the store page (apparently there is SecuROM, but there's a small possibility it was patched and the store page never updated, which I guess makes my previous point mute) ;)

But just for the record, if you don't plan on playing them soon I'd wait for Amazon to run another bundle with them. It frequently hits $4.99 for both, or a bit more with Spec Ops: The Line (I think $9.99, but I can't remember for sure). They are both great games though, so even at this price you can't go wrong ^_^

Yeah, I'm running it... Likely the only reason I noticed it in the first place.

As for the price, if it hits it 5 dollars that often, I think your right about waiting for a 2K bundle... Thanks for the heads up! :D

MNS, I can't hear what you're typing (image of The Rock quickly flashes through my head) because your mute. Alas, that statement really has no bearing on the conversation, thus a moot point. ;)

Also, if Amazon has the same promo credit chaos and fat finger data entry as last year, you might be able to get the BioShock pack free. Not that I condone such acts of cheapassery.

So, I'm sitting hear getting over from bronchitis, sipping on my Spiced Apple Celestial Seasonings Tea and was wondering...

...does anyone want a key for F.T.L.?

Strange, there is a blank spot where the Steam key should be for I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream on the Vodo bundle purchase page. Hacker Evolution Duality is available though.

Edit: E-mailed support and they corrected the profile page, no issues. Thanks for posting the deal, spoderman.

Vodo checkout doesn't work unless you select $1 or more. Just brings up a "Page not found" window in the page.

I think the more important question is does that tea taste like spiced apple at all?
Surprisingly, yes. I'm getting my fall on with the tea, making some mulled cider and later snack on some some Pumpkin Patch ice cream.

I've got a few keys to give out, but I guess regulars have most of them and I don't want to give the lurkers satisfaction.

The lurkers should get no satisfaction. Good to hear on the tea, my wife loves apple cider, but is trying to get into teas. Might pick her up a box of that. I did Pumpkin Spice ice cream with pumpkin spice cake over the weekend. I just need to pick up a box of those smiley face pumpkin or apple cookies little debbie makes and I'll be set for my all celebration.

disagree there is something that better sequel yup so get both u get achievements and i have both l4d u can play on avg pc and there some differnece
I have no idea what you said, but I do see the word disagree at the beginning of your statement; allow me to respond:

Most people will not want, nor will they need, two copies of Left 4 Dead with minor differences; especially your typical cheap ass gamer. All, or nearly all, of the content for L4D is available in L4D2.

L4D2 had a peak of ~8,000 users today and L4D doesn't even show up on the stats.

Anyone inquiring about the need to buy one or both is likely not a compulsive hoarder or there would be no need for debate.

But... to each his own, I suppose.

I realize I'm going to seem like a pompous ass, and that this is way off-topic (like the beer/microbrew wars) but I'm a big (black/red) tea drinker, my wife is Chinese & also a big (green) tea drinker, I actually live close to the Celestial Seasonings facility and we have toured it multiple times, and I can tell you unequivocably that what they make is definitely not Real Tea™. They sweep up the leftover dust from tea leaves in tea processing factories, color it with some foul-tasting kool aid flavor, put it in little bags, and sell it in colorful boxes for the American market. Now excuse me while I go make a steaming pot of Irish Breakfast that you can stand your spoon in...

Tebonics to English:

It's better to get both. You can get achievements for both games, there are a few differences, and the first one is not as graphic-intensive, so you can play it on lower-spec machines.

My take:

I second hal. Not enough differences to make it worth getting both, and there is no community for 1, which is kind of important for a co-op game.
