I realize I'm going to seem like a pompous ass, and that this is way off-topic (like the beer/microbrew wars) but I'm a big (black/red) tea drinker, my wife is Chinese & also a big (green) tea drinker, I actually live close to the Celestial Seasonings facility and we have toured it multiple times, and I can tell you unequivocably that what they make is definitely not Real Tea™. They sweep up the leftover dust from tea leaves in tea processing factories, color it with some foul-tasting kool aid flavor, put it in little bags, and sell it in colorful boxes for the American market. Now excuse me while I go make a steaming pot of Irish Breakfast that you can stand your spoon in...

Has this been posted yet?

A coming HB Weekly, I assume:

Daedalic Core

Daedalic BT6

Everything in the core level has been bundled before. Deponia from the 6 buck teir has, too.

Might be worth it for the other two games, though.

Nether does look good. I'd be all over it if it was cheaper and if I didn't have an awesome list of scary games to run through the next month. I'll be celebrating Halloween through Thanksgiving but it should be fun. I like the three beta invites you get with purchase of Nether, but I'm a little put off by the in game gold thing.
Our friendly Panda does have Nether - Believer edition for $16 which isn't too bad, but still on that tier above waffling. I agree, the fact the game does have in game gold is a bit concerning. I'm not a fan of pay to win types. Hopefully it's just a head start bonus and you can find gold in the game as well.

I had to laugh at Rock, Paper, Shotgun's quote of “Meet Nether, Phosphor’s DayZ Killer.” I don't think it takes much to beat that shoddy game. Although, this does look like a massively better survival experience. More depth and exploration. It does come with three extra Beta keys. Tempting. Looks like it has State of Decay elements, but with multiplayer.

...snip...
Oh, I agree. I'm a tea drinker as much as I'm a coffee drinker. Which is to say, I have taste, but typically and voluntarily choose not to exercise it. As in my penchant to reheat day old coffee so as not to waste it. Now that my mind is wandering, Valve should make their own brand of tea, calling it Steaming Tea. Their slogan could be, "Just steep it for a Half-Life."

I'd pay $2 for a beta key since it is a closed beta. If you could find 2 more, it would bring the price down to $10 for you ;)

Out of curiosity, if the place is so awful, why have you toured it multiple times?

I like the overpriced tea from Teavana, but they doctor it with fruit and beet juice sugar.
My kids really like it, they get free tea tastings (they're still young so they like the "fruity flavors") and after the tour they get to sit at the Celestial Seasonings tea shop and look cool. To my defense, the wife usually takes them.

I used to buy really expensive (but really good) tea from a downtown store but now I'm looking at these guys: Frontier Coop Teas. Really good tasting, organic, and relatively INexpensive loose leaf tea (I'm drinking this right now as I type this).

Edit: INexpensive, INexpensive, not "relatively EXpensive" - sheeesh...

You're a genius! Hmm, I'm tempted to put this plan into effect now.

And all this talk about tea and coffee is starting to stir on a craving right now.

Ahhhh, now it makes perfect sense. I was picturing you going back year after year hoping something had changed We tried some tea at a Chinese herbal shop here, but the employees were really unhelpful and the teas weren't anything special. I grew up on Lipton and Luzianne iced tea so I'm not too picky. It's really just an excuse to drink sugar water for me.

I get my tea from Republic of Tea. Decent quality, nice selection, not too expensive...I don't make enough money to get really high quality tea. Republic of Tea is def. better than stuff like celestial seasonings and whatnot, though.

So what's everybody playing for Halloween eve/night? I just turned out the lights and started F.E.A.R. When the sun goes down, though, I'm gonna finally dig into Amnesia:The Dark Descent.

I'll be playing Amnesia as well. I 'd highly recommend downloading custom stories for Amnesia. Some of them are way better than the original game.

So there are a lot of games I'm unfamiliar with in the Halloween sale.  I'm tempted by a few, but are there any must-buy recommendations anyone can make?

Thanks!

Depends on how CAGly you are. If you're a true hoarder, all of them. If not, what's your budget? True CAG protocol dictates you target only 75% or greater discounts as well as sub-$5 prices.

Skyrim, Arkham City, maybe The Sims 3 and Lord of the Rings Online. Depends on what kind of time I have.

All the fuss about Steam Arkham City (and my own terror-steeped journey into converting my GWfL-Steam hybrid save to the new GOTY Steam save) has inspired me to try to track down the last 200 Riddler doodads that I ignored during my playthrough of the story mode. So I'm taking them about 5-10 at a time; at this rate it will take me at least until Black Friday to nail The Riddler (assuming I'm able to get at least 400 and don't fail too many of the ridiculous bouncing-around-multiple-touchpads-within-the-span-of-a-few-seconds trophies).

I'll definitely play a bit more Scratches, which has a nice atmosphere for a point and click.

Other than that I might give Outlast or Vampire: The Masquerade a shot. Or maybe I'll get back to Dead Space.

For Halloween I was thinking about Clive Barker's Jericho for $1.24 because I couldn't possibly pull something from my backlog.

Couple of Halloween Sale questions:

Alien Breed Impact - Do I need this one if I have 2 and 3?

Atom Zombie Smasher - this looks fun and I missed it from previous bundles.  Thoughts?

Edited to add - I will also be watching Nightmare Before Christmas and Blair Witch Project.

So, I'm sitting hear getting over from bronchitis, sipping on my Spiced Apple Celestial Seasonings Tea and was wondering...

...does anyone want a key for F.T.L.?
If the tea isn't too strong, perhaps. I have a friend who wants the game, but I know most people don't believe others who say they have friends who want it. Just look at the Xbox banning

What are you tempted by? What genres do you like?

I love Double Fine's Brutal Legend and Costume Quest, both have their trademark humor. Nation Red and Dead Pixels are fun pick up and play arcade zombie shooters. The Fallout 3 and NV are modern classics and as cheap as they will go at $5.

Ahhhh I still need to play Arkham City. It's near the top of my list. Maybe after Halloween's over and I get my horror genre fix I'll finally get into it.

Non-video game question: Favorite horror movies? Any horror movie suggestions that might be a bit more obscure (I love horror movies, the scarier the better, but I've already seen a whole bunch, so any suggestions for ones I haven't seen would be sweeeeeeet)?

Clive Barker's Undying is on sale at GOG if you buy any games there.

I've played the whole Alien Breed trilogy and no, you don't. They're boring, tedious games that drag on long after you've seen all there is to see. For what little it's worth, the games do get slightly better with each installment, but they're all dreadfully boring.

PWYW (10 cents minimum) for I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream Steam key, along with some other stuff.

This bundle is fucking amazing.

I Have No Minimum, and I Must Scream!

I was on the fence, but then I saw that Immortal Technique EP and couldn't pass.

Yes.

CS? Ghetto...

Team 17 is trash. I'ma buy Worms from them one day and donate that formula to a decent developer.

Oh! Well boredom trumps OCD collecting so I will remove Alien Breed from my cart. Atom Zombie Smasher stays though.

Well, obviously, there's all the classics...the Elm Streets, Friday the 13ths, Halloweens, Texas Chainsaws, etc. Then, you've got the newer franchises...the Saws, Paranormal Activities, etc. But one recent movie that I felt did an incredible job capturing the essence of Halloween was Trick 'r Treat. I'm sure most people have seen this one. But if anyone hasn't, definitely give it a watch. There's just something enjoyable about it that brings back nostalgic Halloween feelings.

It used to be on Netflix Instant Stream...but I just looked and it doesn't appear to be on there any more (lame). Amazon has it on blu-ray for $6.49...but yeah, that doesn't help much to get it in time for Halloween. A really great movie if you can track it down though.

All time favorite: The Exorcist. Runners up: The Omen, Rosemary's Baby

Well yesterday I was a little uncertain about my new 770's capabilities but I just tried Far Cry 3 and I can max that out with 8xAA and keep a solid 60fps. I know AC3 is known to have shitty performance in general and I think TXAA was really taxing also. I think Arkham Origins would have been fine if I kept PhysX turned off. I'll keep trying different games and see how it goes.

BTW if your Far Cry 3 starts hanging on the splash screen without launching, delete the GamerProfile.xml from your documents folder, solved it.
