Has anybody played Path of Exile? I've heard good things about it, any thoughts? Also, how's the F2P work w/it? I'm always a bit hesitant about F2P.

Path of Exile is probably one of the best examples of F2P on the market. You could totally ignore it easily. It's also one of the best ARPGs around currently and has an incredibly addictive upgrade system. You should give it a spin if you like the genre.

I'm trying to figure out how Motoki spent 6 hours on Lilly Looking Through.  I finished the game in 2 hours, even with me getting stuck in a place or two.

Personal opinion on the game: it is very cute, but it is also very short and they left the ending open-ended.  Not sure I'd recommend it at the current price, but I do think it is worth playing for adventure game fans.

The only thing people pay money for is aesthetic changes. So there is no "Pay-to-Win". It really is free to play.

Definitely give it a try, especially if you like Diablo 2.

Did you mouse and keyboard try to bite you or something?

Has the sale date leak been mentioned? http://i.imgur.com/BazPkxO.png Not sure how real it is.
Do NOT make the dates of the sale public!

Speaking of Steam holiday sales:

What's at the top of everybody's wishlist? Top three to five games or so you want on sale and at what price does (Santa/Krampus/whatever) Gaben have to drop them to for you to buy them these holidays (realistically speaking).

Edit: I want Bad Rats, five cents or bust.

Do you think the GB difference matters? I doubt I'll be going past standard 1920x1080 for a while. I guess I'm just brainwashed into thinking more RAM means MOAR POWAH!
I did the research and determined that it wasn't worth an extra $50 to have 4GB on that particular card. The key thing that allowed me to settle on 2GB was some advice I read, that by the time games really require more than 2GB vram (at 1080p/1200p resolutions) this card will be obsolete and not able to run games at max settings anyway regardless of the extra ram.

What I kept reading is that you'd only need the 4GB model if you were running higher resolutions or multi-monitor setups, or SLI.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. 66% off or bust.

I wish Dying Light was scheduled for release this year. Game looks pretty awesome.

My top 5(and only 5) Wishlist games:

1) The Walking Dead Season 2 (the lower the better!)

2) Papers, Please! ($2.50!)

3) The Wolf Among Us (Got this on PS3 so price needs to be LOW for me to buy)

4) Deadly Premonition Director's Cut ($5 or bust)

5) Angry Video game Nerd Adventures (75% off!)

This game looks cool, but considering it's by the developer of Dead Island I'm gonna need to see more before I believe it's anything significantly better. The video I saw looked cool but didn't look much different from Dead Island at all.

What's at the top of everybody's wishlist?
Oh gosh, as if I even know anymore. My wishlist has almost passed 500 games and I can't begin to be bothered keeping it in order. Quickly scrolling through, a few I know I'd bite on:

Guacamelee - $7.49>

Antichamber - $4.99>

Analogue: A Hate Story - $2.49>

Don't Starve - $4.99>

Gunpoint - $2.49>

The Bridge - $4.99>

Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate - $4.99> (just saw its MSRP dropped from $20 to $10 ^_^)

I could go on, but I'd wind up including way too many games. Needless to say I should probably be hiding my wallet now...

Here's my fo rizzle most wanted gamez:

1) Monaco: Really want to hold out for a bundle...but if it gets 3.50 or lower I may have to bite

2)Call of Cthhulu: Dark Corners of the Earth - Don't know why I want this so bad. But it's such an old game and never been lower than five bucks on Steam. It needs to get below five.

3)Rayman Origins/Legends: hoping for a good bundle deal (like, 12 bucks or less), but I'll probably end up passing, unless I'm surprised. Or might just pick up Origins (less than five dollars).

4)The Wolf Among Us: It's not gonna meet my price point (7.50), but I do want it. I was really skeptical after my extreme apathy over The Walking Dead. However, the setting and source material seems MUCH more up my alley (zombies are so overdone, in games, in movies, I've had enough).

5)Jade Empire: If it meets the all time steam low price of 3.75, I'll snatch it up

Bonus - Dark Souls. I have it on Xbox and have played the balls out of it. But it's one of my favorite games ever, and I want it on PC. Five bucks and I'm in.

Really intrigued by Antichamber. Played the demo for Gunpoint, loved it, but it needs to be cheap due to Ultra Short Game Syndrome (USGS).

Add my name to the list of people still waiting for Call of Cthulhu to go for better than 50% off. I'd also like to see the Skyrim DLC go for cheap so I can grab the two I'm missing. Discounts of Skullgirls and DuckTales would be nice, though I don't expect much. I'd grab Unholy Heights for a buck.

CAN YOU HEAR IT THE POUNDING THE CONSTANT DRUMMING BRAP BRAP BRAP BRAP THE NOISE OF MOOBY'S BALLED FISTS SLAMMING INTO HIS KEYBOARD AFTER PLAYING ANOTHER "BAD" GAME ALWAYS GOING NEVER STOPPING
Mooby was taken from his family at the age of eight, to join the CAG forums. Some say that's where it all began. When he was a child, Mooby saw the Steam sales. As a novice he was taken for initiation. He stood in front of the Steam Homepage. A gap in the fabric of the Steam client thru which can be seen the whole sale. We stand there, eight years old, staring at the raw power of GabeN and his sales, just a child. Some would be inspired, some would run away, and some would go mad.

Yep. Just looks like a prettier version of Dead Island. And their game 'Hellraid' looks like a reskinned Dead Island.

for my central standard times friends we got 52mintues together heheheh then we go seperate

Yes, that's exactly what we are talking about...

yup we are talking bout it but u miss it 1hr-2hr ago

1. anythign 75% off that diddnt come out the past two months rest that has been out for while 75% off or mysterd gets eaten by neuro the mutant

The only things I really care about any more are Enslaved and the Skyrim DLCs. If I could get Walking Dead season 2 or that Wolf one for $10 each I would buy those.

I didn't include State of Decay or Assassin's Creed Liberation HD due to beta or pre-order status.

A cursory glance at my wishlist reveals the top five to be:

1.  Don't Starve - bundled almost at his point with out stingy they have been with sales.

2.  Deadly Premonition (Would buy this at $10 or less)

3.  Nether  - $10 or less

4.  Nazi Zombie Army 2- $3.75

5. Typing of the Dead - $5 Walking Dead Season 2 - Buying this when I finally finish Season 1 and the DLC.  Damned 3rd lost save file.

Didn't include stuff without a release date or price.

My wishlist is 90% indie games and 10% older titles.  I only foresee maybe five or so hitting pricepoints I want during the upcoming sales.  Would grab some AAA faire depending on if Amazon does some good packs.

Has the sale date leak been mentioned? http://i.imgur.com/BazPkxO.png Not sure how real it is.

Another interesting quote: "Because the two sales occur just a few weeks apart, we plan to maintain the same discounts from one sale to the other."

So basically, if you're disappointed at the prices of your wishlist games in the Autumn sale, prepare to be disappointed again in the Holiday sale.

Here's a few titles from my wish list I'd jump on at lower prices during the "Autumn" / "Winter" Steam sales:

-Dishonored: The Brigmore Witches DLC ($2.99 or less)

-Guacamelee! Gold Edition ($3.75 or less)

-Trials Evolution Gold Edition (< $5)

-The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Dragonborn (< $5)

-The Wolf Among Us (< $12)

-Audiosurf 2 (< $4)

-No Time To Explain (< $2.99)

-Kentucky Route Zero (< $8)

-Gunpoint (< $2.50)

-Remember Me (< $15, maybe)

Some first impressions:

Jericho - fun game so far, didn't know it was squad based, but looks like I'll have fun romping through this.

NarcoTerror - terribly fun!  Yeah, the game is a bit ugly, premises are ridiculous, controls could be better, etc. but it is a blast.  I mean you want to get someone to talk?  Just kill them.  They will confess as they die?

How To Survive - This is game is freaking awesome.  I mean they managed to cram a ton of personality into the little I played.  Not sure of replayability or whether I will get eventually bored, but it is well made/fun for what it has been so far.

Damned - This sounds great, but we need to set up a CAG playing group.  I spent five minutes trying to get into a match and having to watch others play so I just gave up for the time being.

The Dead Linger - This has got to be the worse game ever!  Seriously, and not in like a fun Narcoterror sort of way.  This shit just sucks.  To think I paid $10 for it!  I mean, this is like a rough, rough demo and nothing else.  Ugly worlds, bug filled, freezing, glitching, not optimized.  Every zombie is exactly the same.  They have no feet and just float on stubs, they bite you from like 10 feet away.  You can't kill them.  There are trees growing out of the interstate but not in a "this world has decayed sort of way" but in a "you didn't program trees not to procedurally generate on the highway?"  Seriously, this just goes to show that the Steam Early Access program has absolutely no standards at all.  Granted I bought this completely blind as I did most games recently so I'm not complaining, but to let Steam allow this on their site is pretty telling of how little they care.  The WarZ is like infinitely better as a game.  That's how bad this is.  Yeah, it's in Alpha, but at this rate this game is either never getting finished or just destined for awfulness.

Your goty must be Ride To Hell ;) I agree with u on How To Survive, its pretty fun but I wouldn't call it awesome and Jericho is just shit as is Narco Terror, those games are ewwwww.

30,000 Steam keys stolen during Wadjet Eye Games' Halloween promotion
Michael Jones at 18:46 on 01 November 2013

Wadjet Eye Games was giving away Steam keys for its adventure game, The Blackwell Deception, on Halloween before President Dave Gilbert pulled the plug. Gilbert says he planned on giving away 50,000 keys in total, but quickly changed his plans when he discovered that 30,000 of the keys had been stolen.

People downloaded hundreds of keys at a single time, Gilbert tells Red Door Blue Key, "collecting Steam keys for reselling later." To combat this, Gilbert removed the Steam keys and placed them on another website, attracting a backlash from players.

"It almost instantly led to a large number of angry emails and tweets," he says. "Even though it was a free game, it’s almost as if it didn’t count because it wasn’t going in their Steam library." He tried to find a way to prevent further exploitation by asking BMT, the sales provider Gilbert used, to create a "1 code per IP" system, but the hackers masked their IP addresses and continued downloading anyway. By the end of the night, 30,000 keys had been pilfered.

The problem began when BMT inadvertently posted a link to a Steam key generator. After 20,000 downloaded keys and at Gilbert's request, BMT removed the public link to the generator, but that wasn't enough.

"The next morning I woke up to discover something terrifying," says Gilbert. While BMT did remove the link to the generator, the sales provider did not remove the generator itself. At the very least, Gilbert says that fans have been genuinely sympathetic for his plight.

"The outpouring of support on twitter, Facebook, and email has been nothing short of heart warming," says Gilbert, who doesn't seem to hold any contempt towards BMT, saying "their service was never intended for anything like this." But he also admits his exasperation to Gamasutra that he could not persevere through the chaos for what started out as a free giveaway.

"[But] it was just too much to deal with, and there was only so much effort I was willing to put into a free offer."

That is just Bullshit. I cant believe people would do that. Makes me sick

I think it's more surprising that the guy from Wadjeye Eye didn't expect people to exploit his giveaway. He didn't limit the keys, or do anything to limit it being exploitable.. Some easy ways to avoid this mess would be to put up a giveaway on Steamgifts, or use the new system Humble Bundle implemented by linking your Steam account directly to redeem keys (not sure if that system can be used universally though).

If anything decent is being given away freely, it's going to be exploited. That's just how the world works, only takes a tiny bit of common sense to realize that..
