Maybe they stopped the DLC since they knew next gen wouldn't allow the songs to be transferred over. I hope that 2 of those projects are DC and RB.
Well I think that's more of a problem for Rock Band, but with Dance Central that has Microsoft backing it so I don't think it'd be as much of a problem with getting the money to extend licenses to next generation. I Believe one of the rumored games was a motion control action game, the other being a mobile game and everything else is up in the air. Eitherway I'll support that company for as long as they're in business. DLC compatible with multiple games and able to transfer content over to new games? fuck yes I'll support that.

And I have no interest in Serious Sam, but those games are $2.49. Touche Microsoft. Touche.

Somebody want to sell me on SS3 BFE and the DLC I got the first 2 games but found it way too frustrating on higher difficulties to get through the levels so I gave up on them and never returned (also got XXL for 5 bucks and haven't even played that yet...lol)

Also is Pool Nation better than Bankshot Billiards 2? Or let me rephrase that is it much different? because I wouldn't need another Pool Game that badly (but if this is a superior game I might bite for that price)
The only thing you really need to know about Serious Sam 3 is that the last level puts you up against a wave of almost 2000 enemies of every type in the game, and you kill them all. If that sounds awesome, you'll probably like SS3. If that sounds impossible and frustrating...yeah, I can totally see where you're coming from.

Well, I'll get Castlestorm then, seems very fun :bouncy:  If I wanted to get one Serious Sam game, which should I get, the third one (BFE)? Seems it improved greatly visually, and the gameplay should be the same as the other two :joystick:

Sounds like the end of Part 2.

Serious Sam 3 has a much darker tone IMO. Sure there's some humor but it's more doom and gloom than the other games probably because they put more effort into the story. I haven't beaten it yet but it's tougher than the others.

It's only happened on two occasions but I noticed some graphical glitches in SS2 if the game doesn't load properly. I don't know if I tried to load the game too fast but it gets pixelated as a result.

Pool Nation is great, worth 5 bucks. Awesome gameplay and graphics

Naughty Bear is also great but is a niche title. It's the sequel to the 1st game and has way, way more content than the 1st.

just tried to buy dead island riptide and the game it's no longer on sale, i usually buy as soon the DotW starts but i decided to wait till last minute for this one ('cause i'm still waiting for the ME3 citadel dlc to be on sale), and this happens, oh well!!

Sorry, not a deal, but this is pretty much the only XBLA-centric place I visit that gets a lot of posts, so I hope no one minds if I ask this here.

TL;DR: Which version do you guys like better?

Do any of you guys ever look at the list of XBLA games on Wikipedia? I work on that page sometimes and am wanting to get some feedback on some changes I'm thinking about making on it. Basically I'm wanting to ditch the Online Features column and replace it with columns for XBLA exclusives and Metacritic scores. These would be sortable columns, so with a click you'd be able to see which games are exclusives or what the highest- and lowest-rated games are. This would also match up a little better with some of the other game-list pages on Wikipedia.

Thanks for any and all feedback.

I don't really like Metacritic for anything. As far as a "usefulness" kind of thing, I'd say online features is better, and maybe add a local multiplayer thing. Being exclusive isn't really that important either is it?

Well I just bought 6 items....

Got every Serious Sam item and CastleStorm for $15, not a bad deal at all. I still have $70 in converted MSP that I need to use them in 1.5 years, which is plenty of time of course, but for $15 it seemed worth it. CastleStorm looks like a lot of fun from what I've seen on youtube.

^I think "XBLA Exclusive" and "Metacritic Score" are about 1000x more useful information than "Online Features". Just my two cents.
I'm with Tyler. Would want to see the metacritic score of any game before purchase. Pay no attention to online features since most have them anyway. And if they don't we hear people whine about it pretty early.

Definitely Metacritic.  And, if you could link directly to it, that would be even better so I could read the reviews.

If this game isn't $10 somewhere on Black Friday/Cyber Monday, I'll be shocked.

Nice to see a decent DotW finally. Going to pick up SS1 and see if I like it, if so I'll grab 2, 3, and DLC. Even if you buy all that AND DD XXL it's still $10 cheaper than the disc version on Amazon.

I don't get the hate for Metacritic, I never have.  The website amalgamates review scores for every video game from across the internet, recalculates some of them, then creates an average score for every game.  Then they provide links and blurbs for every review score they've pulled so you can easily access all of them with a simple click of the mouse.  Whether you only like select review outlets, or you like to read a mix of reviews like I do (I like to read the blurb or reviews of the highest score, one of the middle scores, and the lowest score) to get a general idea of the impressions people have had from the game, Metacritic puts that all in one place.

and for some reason thats the only one not on sale anymore i was gonna buy it too.

Agreed. People act like it's a reviewing site, like IGN or Gamespot.

For one reason, in my case, I haven't cared about a review since the Playstation 1 days. Review scores just seem pointless to me. I don't care if the game has a 10/100 or whatever, means nothing if I like it.

It still is, the scores don't mean anything

It aggregates reviews from other sites. It doesn't have any reviews, so people who complain about Metacritic giving a bad score on a game, they can't pin it on Metacritic, because it wasn't them.

lol, it's the same thing, I'm not "blaming" metacritic

That's just a pointless number. Who really would go to that page and let that "Metacritic Score" affect anything about their decision on the game?

I don't like reviews in general. The more I play games the more I feel you can't really judge a lot of aspects well in review format because games are subjective in general. Things like Metacritic make it to simple to take an easy way out and pass by a game because it's not perfect. The other problem is that you really have to look into each source and reviewer if you really want to get a feel of their tastes and biases. And that whole other tangent about paid or "paid" reviews that hangs over many of the big review sources.

More specifically to Metacritic, it takes into account a bunch of garbage sources that no one has ever heard of, while making averages based on the borked review scale that so many reviewers seem to base on educational grading scales instead of using all 5 or 10 numbers. Being a 7 should not mean average. On top of that, Metacritic has gotten too important on the dev side, with people being fucked by arbitrary numbers, ( http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/15/obsidian-missed-fallout-new-vegas-metacritic-bonus-by-one-point/ ) or being forced to "design by checklist" to try and get good reviews. User reviews are worthless too. They get filled with fanboys, trolls, and occasionally even gaming/publisher people trying to boost their games score.

I see how reviews are fine for a lot of people, but the amount of effort it takes to see what someone's review will mean to me, is more than just discussing it on a gaming website to get a feel of what similar minded people have to say about a game. Not really here per se, we do have some good discussion, but being a site primarily designed to find deals isn't usually great for a lot of it.

It helps me a lot. When you see a game with horrible scores across the board, most of the time, you probably won't like it. Sure, every now and then there is an awful game that some may like, but a majority of the time, I think most of us could agree with the reviewers.

For example: http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/sonic-the-hedgehog

The general consensus is that the game sucks. Of course, it's all subjective, but if I see a game with scores THAT bad, I'll probably avoid it until I have no other games to play. I only have so much time to play video games. Why would I waste it on something bad?

While I do agree that judging a game by just its score isn't the best way to decide what you will like, it is still helpful for those games where there is no demo. Like Rice said if a game has an extremely crappy average score from many different places with different likes and dislikes then the game will most likely suck ass.

Def should include Metacritic instead of online features. If the score helps you decide that you might like the game you can further research its features.

And of course, damn another week of nothing for me. Cant wait to see the rest.

I agree with this. And nice avatar lol Quaker State goes perfect.

CastleStorm will more than likely be a last minute decision since I grabbed Forza Horizon and The Darkness last minute and that was a good half of my balance.

Thanks! :D

If you haven't started playing Horizon yet, you need to start. Awesome game.

Pool nation is awesome! Wait, let me rephrase that: it's A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!!! :whee: Seriously dude, best pool sim out there, no need to compare to BB2, it's just superior to anything in this generation: long double campaign with challenges, multiplayer (although not very populated) and endurance mode (pure addiction). Physics are perfect and visuals and sound amazing. Its a steal at 5 whatever. If you hop on dont hesitate to invite me to play ;) I'm easy to find at scoreboard: just look for number one on endurance mode

Thanks all for the feedback so far.

TL;DR: I'm a sucker for sortable columns.

One of the main reasons I wanted to add the Metacritic column is that the aggregate sites like that and GameRankings don't separate out the XBLA games from the retail games, and I just wanted a quick way to be able to see what the most highly-regarded XBLA titles are. A sortable column allows for that:

qQU5aWw.png

. . .and likewise for the most poorly-regarded titles, too:

EdFgVV3.png

Note: The XBLA exclusive column is still a work-in-progress, and most of those cells haven't been filled in yet.

Of course I finally migrated to Japan from Canada (and learned some things too, like my Canadian balance of $5.xx is in limbo until I migrate back there, and that the Commerce site tracks everything separately), and Japan doesn't have Serious Sam. :whee:

This past week, Dungeon Fighter LIVE has been on sale, so I'll let you guys know what the sale game(s?) is in Japan later in the day when the dashboard gets updated.

Somehow I forgot to post this during the bannings a while back:

suspended8aq.jpg

I think you timed this post well if you put this up in the pinnacle of the bannings im pretty sure the heat you would have gotten would have made you take a sabbatical from CAG :p

says that it 60 on the site
I think he means his balance is 51. If that's the case, it's odd because I'm always prompted to apply my balance first, then use a cc to pay the rest.

What bannings were going on? I missed that apparently as I've been really busy and thus less active on cag recently.

coming soon has RE:R half off ($20) next week. :)
Yeah man! Though I am more excited for RE4 since I've been waiting since that huge GoD sale in the Spring for it to go on sale again. Foolishly said to myself "I'll buy it if it goes to $5" but it was only $10. Gonna buy it this time around. I'll skip RE:R since I have it for the 3DS, but hopefully if it's $10 or under on BF or whatever I'll buy the HD version.
