I wish you went to AA meetings in those games, and Batman would stand up in his costume and introduce himself as an alcoholic in the gruffy batman whisper voice. It'd be hilurrrious.

Curses, something cool enough to actually convince me to install UPlay.
I played and finished this game through Uplay. Very good POP game with "traditional" gameplay, and Uplay did not cause me any problems at all (faster than starting up Steam, that's for sure). Goferit!

I got POP and Silent Hunter to activate for Uplay, but none of the others I tried.  Thanks for the heads up CAG!

I've been so backlogged with idling for cards (got behind when I had to reinstall Steam and couldn't sell anything for 2 weeks so didn't bother with it), so I didn't realize that cards were just added to Stealth Bastard Deluxe, been idling it for about an hour now lol

oh, I finally won a damn Grid 2 steam key, with my worst time ever 2 minutes 46 seconds

Every other time I've been under a minute 45 only to see the slower times place ahead of me. :wall:

Huh. I just won one, too. Though the terms said that the winners would be contacted something like 7 days after winning, suggesting one of those earlier times may have won. Also, the terms said the time would be determined by actual time to find the objects--perhaps it has a hidden timer that is not the same as the shown one.

There is no hidden timer. But the trick to winning is getting time around 2:46-3:00. Keys for last day are send after day changes, 17 GMT.

I never was able to win with regular times nor lower times (changing tab slows clock).

mysterd wat yuo do to mns you eet his brains

I must be one of the only people to not care for Lego games. Love Legos, dislike the games. Makes me feel like there's something additional wrong with me.
If this keeps up w/ people being like MysterD, we won't need that Army of MysterD Clones... ;)

Hoping the BTA for the Humble is MK9 so I can play on PC with friends.

If it's injustice I will be really annoyed seeing I am buying it for PS4 when it comes out.

I'm still disappointed I didn't get any Frequent Bastion Purchaser Points out of this bundle.  Only 2 more Bastions and I get a free Bastion!

I feel like playing F.E.A.R. just put me into a gaming rut. I don't know why I forced myself to finish that thing. Maybe I'm just not a big FPS guy, or maybe it's just a sucky game.
I loved the original FEAR. Yes, it's a FPS - and a classic-style one, albeit. But, w/ some horror elements. If you're not into that - yeah, probably won't be your cup of tea.

Seriously - you should've played FEAR back when it 1st came out. Graphically on the technical side, it put everything else to shame. The story-telling was fantastic - though, you had to really pay attention to try to find and listen to every phone-call, recording message, and anything else in the game-world - if you wanted the full-blown story and you had to put together yourself what was going on. Horrific as can be and nothing less.

Also - the brutal AI, Max Payne-esque slo-mo, the akimbo guns, and that creepy little messed-up girl Alma was also more of what made that game what it was. If there was one annoying thing about FEAR 1 - too many warehouses and not even different level-types for variety.

And Slo-Mo MP DeathMatch was blast online, back in its day.

Since the original FEAR, it's been all downhill for the FEAR series. It never reached that greatness again.

Extraction Point was good; Perseus Mandate was just okay.

FEAR 2 was good - but instead of being the trend-setter like the original was, it copied many of the FPS tropes (tram ride like Half-Life; vehicle sections - in a mech like Riddick: Butcher Bay; rail shooter sections - like many other FPS's like COD series). Throw in the fact that a lot of the scares & horror elements were total rehashes of what the original FEAR was, FEAR 2 just can't ascend to the heights the original soared to. Also, FEAR 2's AI on Hard felt way too hard; but on Easy is WAY Too easy - there was no real happy medium. Also throw in the console-style of checkpoint saved being sometimes too spaced-out or poorly placed, it makes matters even worse.

FEAR 3 - it felt more like a COD game, honestly. Nothing scary about this title. It's solid and decent - but it ain't even nowhere near FEAR 2's level, nevermind FEAR 1.

I had to force myself to finish it as well, but I like FPS games. The sequels did the same. I play them, then I don't feel like playing any games for about a month. They aren't bad games, so I don't get it.

As if anyones backlog allows for such nonsense :nottalking:
I love FPS's - let me put that out there right now. I have no problem w/ linear-FPS's and games of that style. They have their place on the market.

So, back when I received FEAR 1 for X-Mas that year it was released in, I certainly didn't have too much of a backlog back then! Back then, it was certainly NOTHING like the backlog that I have now.

The thing is - FEAR 1 was one of those technical graphical landmark kind of games back when it came out. From its lighting to graphical texture-quality - it literally destroyed everything else on the market at that time. Linear shooters w/ graphical excellence - these are the kind of games you really want to play when you have a powerful rig and ASAP. Reason being - playing those kind of games kinda late, it might be hard to appreciate the technical excellence actually being put forth.

I'm betting playing FEAR 1 in 2013 is not going to make you go "wow" when staring at the graphics in the technical regard. Crysis 3 will do that in 2013, not FEAR 1.

This was the thing, I could see this looking spectacular when it first came out. I didn't even look up any graphics mods, I'm sure there are probably some out there...wish I would've.

The thing that irritated me though, was the level variety. Occasionally I'd miss a vent or something to crawl through to the next spot, and wind up circling the level for five minutes because everything in the game looked the same. I guess it had to, since it took place in that one facility, but it was still aggravating. I wish I scared easier. I closed my blinds and turned out the lights, and used my headphones, trying to fully immerse myself. There were a few jump scares that got me, but for the most part it was pretty mehhh. Overall though, it wasn't that bad at all, just nothing special at all either. My OCD gets in the way- if I start a game, I must finish it. At first I was really enjoying FEAR. Then when you get into the building and shizz I started to gradually be less and less entertained. Eventually I forced myself to finish, which I guess is what left a bad taste in my mouth.

Fear 1 was awesome and it was a pretty scary game with excellent gameplay and then the FEAR 2 came out which was pretty good and not bad and then FEAR 3 came out and that was awful.

I think it was the level "variety" that got me. If all of HL2 was just in that facility at the end, I think I'd have gone nuts playing it.

What makes people think there'll be a bonus? Not seeing it.
Yeah, I'm not seeing any indication for a bonus either. Has anyone dug through the steam database to find any hints? Or does this new Humble Steam key redeem system eliminate such hints at upcoming bundles?

When was the last regular Humble Bundle that didn't have games added in the second week? Isn't that what Humble Weekly's are for generally given the length of time?

So many questions... not really expecting any answers. ;)

FPS's have changed A LOT since Halo and COD2. Regen-health, much more linearity, no health-bars on-screen, and other things have become MUCH more common-place in the FPS arena.

FEAR 1 was still spitting out health-packs and that old-school style FPS gaming, back in its day.

See, that was the thing w/ HL2 - HL2 had you always doing something different (physics puzzles, riding a vehicles); attacking something different (Ant-lions, zombies, etc); and introducing a new gun to you (human-tossing gravity gun!). And just before it could even get you remotely sick of a certain weapon, mechanic or enemy - it already had moved you onto the next thing before you could get bored of it.

Only thing that ever really annoyed me about HL games was often leaving too much ambiguous in the story or characters; or when they leave you w/ nasty cliff-hangers.

Also - HL2 was another one of those games that broke all kinds of new ground in the technical graphics department back when it came out.

Meh, I've grown tired of playing games simply for technical graphics fidelity. If all that a game does well is push millions of pixels then I might as well just watch whatever nonsense James Cameron has recently cooked up. My case in point: Crysis 2. Tons of eye candy, but otherwise entirely mediocre. I'm getting dangerously close to ranting though, and that never goes anywhere particularly constructive, so this is the part where I shut up before I cause a wall of text to be born.

I had a blast w/ Crysis 2 - that game was down-right gorgeous, even though it's a bit much smaller-spaced for its SP campaign battlefields and it feels a bit more COD-like, when compared to Crysis 1 + Crysis: Warhead + Crysis 3. Though, I really liked C2's more vertical-elements for shootouts - something C1 lacked. C1 did the open-space thing better.

Crysis 3 seems to do a better job of dealing out a more variety of things. Namely, if you take the best stuff from Crysis 1, Warhead, and Crysis 2 - you get Crysis 3.

Also, C3's bow makes the game much more stealthy-approachable than ever before.

Crysis 3 in the technical department and the art-direction for these Jungle-In-NY-fusion environments are gorgeous.

Yes, it takes away all hints because they're not adding multiple games via one key. You're technically getting multiple keys. So no more hints via the Steam database, it looks like.

So is there an office pool going for what publisher will next step up to the Humble table?

My bet is Square, if only because they have already done some ridiculous bundles on Amazon already.

Anyone want to go halfsies on the new humble bundle? I already have the 2 Batman's which is the meat of it and I'll take the rest. Just PM me.

I'm going with Bethesda, they have so many bundle fodder games
