fucking sweet, man

so.... did anyone get that $60 gtx680 from walmart?
Has anyone actually got their hands on *anything* from that price screwup? I know a metric buttload of orders went in, but did Walmart actually honor any of them? I'm betting that, other than a few in-store pickups, everything will be cancelled.

Beta participants will receive the game Metro: Last Light

Those of us working on the Steam Machines project are excited about this launch: Deep Silver and 4A Games yesterday released the Linux version of Metro: Last Light on Steam, and confirmed support for SteamOS and the Steam Controller.

Metro already supports Steam Play, meaning that owners of any Steam version will automatically find the game added to their Windows PC, Mac and Linux Steam libraries.

Metro: Last Light will also ship for free to the 300 recipients of Valve’s prototype Steam Machine. We will be announcing a few more games that will be part of the beta in the coming days. We will also be selecting final beta participants soon from the pool of eligible applicants, so stay tuned for that, along with more info about how the new in-home streaming feature of Steam.
Can't wait to see what other games they'll be adding.

Only saw a few pics in the thread before it was moved to the graveyard. A few people posted pics of their 55" LED TV hauls, then there were a few price matches and one 360 controller with receipt for $3.

For the most part, I think nearly all of the orders were cancelled. People here and at SlickDeals who claim to have gotten in on them and don't show proof are most likely lying. Haven't actually SEEN anyone post proof that they got the graphics card or monitor.

Sucks that I missed the whole thing.

Humble Weekly? Weekend Deal?
Hah! OK, Fork, wasn't planning on that now or later (most likely). I have Hotline and there isn't else that interest me. Maybe Foul play, for the art style, though its gameplay doesn't look so great.

Looking back, all of the Serious Sam's, Hotline Miami, Shadow Warrior Classic Redux, and Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition have been in Humbles within the past 5-6 months.

Dungeon Hearts was in the Indie Royale Lunar Bundle.

Who doesn't have most of these already?

That just leaves Foul Play, Defense Technica, and Shadow Warrior as the only non-bundled games. I'd suspect repeats or maybe a Devolver Digital weekend sale. Shadow Warrior at < $9.99 would be tempting.

Woot! Epic Quest is, well, epic! Didn't like Paranormal that much, but if it's $6 for the whole lot, I'm in like Flynn.

According to the Steam Pinball FX2 store page there should be a free table coming this Friday:

"We invite all players to free pinball! Starting this Friday, the Sorcerer’s Lair pinball table from Zen Studios will be will be free forever – no timed free play session, no ads, no gimmicks. Simply download the free Pinball FX2 platform, and then download Sorcerer’s Lair from the in-game menu. Enjoy!"

I thought that had been free for ages?

Can't buy stuff from sales cause JakeNome will have it cheaper.
Can't buy stuff from JakeNome cause it will eventually bundled.

fuck

Looks like in June.
Bastids! Now I have to extensively research every announcement so I don't look like a chump. They could at least update their stupid store page and help me out a bit.

June probably feels like "ages" to a squirrel.

Odd steam website question - does everyone else have to login at least twice a day?  Or am I just lucky like that?

I'm using chrome and checking off the "remember me" box.

When you lose a cousin every other week because they were admiring the pavement, a couple months is practically a life time :fridge:

Not that often, but seemingly more often than others. I'm using Aurora, so I just attributed it to the frequent updates.

TY, actually never heard of this before.
Marlow Briggs came out around the time Narco Terror did, but I think it actually got better reviews

I just sold my cognition foil for a cool $8.70 profit. Reminds me of the good old days before the politicians ruined the Steam Card Economy with their regulations!

Are those two statements related? No, I just wanted the slightest excuse to mention I sold a foil for $8.70 profit. Cold, hard steambux.

Grim Dawn is on Steam early access. http://store.steampowered.com/app/219990/

Don't care? What if I told you it's made by the Titan Quest guys, using the Titan Quest engine? This game seems like it's been in development forever and still has an extremely long way to go, but hopefully it'll be worth it. I'm just glad to see it on Steam, haven't heard anything about it in a while (not that I was actively listening.)

Also, cows.
Just the first act is 8-16 hours ,according to the page?

Geez, I finished D3 (base game) on default difficulty in like 18 hours....

Using the Titan Quest engine would actually be a negative.  My biggest issue with Titan Quest was that attacks had no weight/impact like they do in Torchlight 2.  Pretty integral to a hack-n-slash arpg.

***Ignore my comment on Steam website login, I just went there and was forced to log in***
lol - ok thanks.

Well, I guess I feel a bit better knowing it's not just me. Thanks for the replies.

It's really odd - it often lets me buy things without having to log in, but then makes me log in to look at the market immediately afterwards(which is exactly what prompted my post in the first place). I can't even be happy pretending it's a 'safety feature' if it's not even going to stop someone else from using my hard-earned card money lol.

I often will be logged into the store, then be asked to log in again if I go look at my wishlist . What is weird is sometimes I can just refresh my store tab and then refresh my wishlist tab and it will log me in then. I'm frequently too lazy to actually re-login because I hate waiting for Outlook to poll my 10 different email address just to get that stupid secret code from Steam.

Well my GTX 680 order just got cancelled. Not too surprised by that. I still have several orders "processing", but I expect most, if not all, of those to get cancelled. Biggest ticket item would be a 58" Toshiba TV which was listed at $224.86.

Much to my suprise though, this has apparently shipped. My price? $20.73. So I can at least say that I got something out of it.

EDIT: Well my 6TB external Hard drive ($45) just got cancelled too. Looks Like I'll have to find another solution for all my clown porn storage needs.
