New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

This is interesting though the prices aren't that great...

Gamefly Build Your Own Bundle:

  • Ubisoft Build Your Own Bundle
  • Rockstar Build Your Own Bundle
  • Square Enix Build Your Own Bundle
  • Valve Build Your Own Bundle
  • Electronic Arts Build Your Own Bundle
  • 2K Build Your Own Bundle

Indie Royale is starting a daily sale on a new site called Daily Royale. There will be a very limited number of keys (1,000) for what looks like a 66 hour window.

First up is Strike Suit Zero 75% off ($19.99) $4.99

If you somehow don't own L2D2, Portal 2, and The Orange Box you can do a lot worse than 12 bucks total for that

Most of this is just ohhhhh so close but a few bucks or a game short of being a good deal. Interesting concept tho.

If only the ubisoft bundle was like, 3 games for 18 dollars and had rayman legends as one of the options

I'm holding you personally responsible for the 20% off coupon not working on these. Technically those are bundles... but the appeal of bundles is that the set is cheaper in a bundle than a la carte. Kinda reminds of me of Amazon bundles when they aren't on sale -- why would anyone buy that.
Forgot about the 20% coupon. If that worked, these would be moderately tempting

This just reminds me that I've bought far too many games. Even if the prices were better, I couldn't even find the minimum three games from any of those lists that I would want and don't own.

Seems alright to me, 22$ for these three games is a decent discount.

If you bought them individually on sale from black friday until the end of the winter sales upcoming, you could probably get them all for like 16 or 17 bucks...so not a bad discount, but you could definitely do better

Trials Evo Gold: $5

AssCrud III: $6

Gunslinger: $5

Total: $16

The time has come! We are ready to begin shipping Steam Machines and Steam Controllers to the 300 selected beta participants. The 300 selected beta testers are being notified today (at about 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time) that they’ll soon receive Steam hardware and SteamOS for testing. Each selected user is also being awarded a special badge on their Steam Community profile, indicating that they’re a beta participant. In addition, a number of games that run natively on SteamOS are being added to each selected user’s library.

Sorry about the pics, they were small when pasted in the thread.

Whats the point you're making about the prices, I missed where they are cheaper today.
If you need all three of those *today* well sure. Given the average size of the backlog of Steam-Thread-CAGs, we generally can wait. It's not like those are new releases that we'd rather not wait on.

The best price today arugment is rather fallacious. If a game is only 50% off MSRP today, that doesn't make it a good price when it's sold for less recently (and thus will see that price again).

We’ve had to make the difficult decision to limit our beta to the U.S. only
There goes even slightest change, f**k you usa.

I can understand your disappointment. However as it looks like a real beta test (300 units) they surely want to get them into the hands of gamers/testers right away so flaws / improvements can be identified as soon as possible. Long shipping time/stuck in customs is counterproductive for Valve.

Sigh!!

20/20 hindsight, or the ability to see in the future...

So if you aim is to buy the games today 22$ is a decent price today for those 3 games as a bundle.

MAYBE they will be cheaper tomorrow in the same combination, or MAYBE not.

If you really want to save money don't buy the games ever.

There's about 400k people with the eligible for beta badge, I wonder how many aren't Americans? The dream is alive

Er... you realize we're about a week and a half from the biggest digital download sales period of the year, right?

Hey, if the prices are good enough for you go ahead and buy it. But this is CAG, we scrutinize over extra pennies in bundles and ask if $.50 games are worth it.

Needless to say, we are more than willing to wait for a cheaper price to hit again.

Today is 11 December 2013. The Capitalist Holiday of Xmas is exactly two weeks away. We are going to see a whole lot of good sales over the next three weeks. If there is one time of the year to advise someone to wait just a little longer, this is it.

There's the little thing called the Steam Winter Sale... but Amazon, GMG, GF, GG, GS, and many others will be having similar sales. Haste makes waste.

mm, none?

Is Gamefly for serious, their weak ass winter sale is the worst. They're so excited to email me these awesome deals every day, I check and they always suck ass.

We should change the name of this website to cheap ass buyers

Majority of the deals blow, but they've got a few decent deals (especially w/the 20% off coupon)...I got Book of Unwritten Tales for 3.19 (Usually 5 bucks on sale), got san andreas for 3 bucks (usually 3.75). Max Payne 3 is 3.19 w/the coupon. So ya, the majority of the deals suck, but some are really good

People here will wait *years* for the game to hit that -75% sweet spot, or for the bundle.

Heed the words of the CAG elders such as asheskitty, Blade, MrNinjaSquirrel and others:

Only reason i'm disappointed is that they originally said it was worldwide. (And to be honest I expected it to be US only when it was announced and was surprised)

Weak ass deals!

I might try Dark Souls today, can someone tell me if the 60 FPS fix is a separate mod from the resolution fix? Or whatever else I need to know? Thanks dawgs. And squirrels.

It's the threadcrapping negativity, state the fucking obvious stuff that annoys me. Will you be saying sorry to whomever takes your advice when you're wrong ?

My point is the combo is a decent price today, thats all I said. I didn't attack someone elses opinion, just added my own.

I say wait for the Winter sale 2020 to be sure. (p.s I'm so cheap I just bought two games on sale from steam via JakeNome just because he gets them even cheaper, so don't lecture me on how to be cheap).

Max Payne 3 has been selling for $4 almost everywhere for the last couple of weeks.
Something people tend to forget is the 20 percent off gamefly always has...that makes mp3 3.19

Gamefly's not the best, but they have the occasional good deal

My advice for that dude looking at the 3 games:

All of those games will DEFINITELY be available for the same price or cheaper within the next 3 weeks

Unless you're planning on buying that pack now, playing through gunslinger, then immediately starting ACIII, it's really not worth it

I'm relatively positive all you need is Durante's fix, which should let you modify FPS cap in an ini file

I haven't even been here a full year and I'm already an elder. At this rate I'm not even going to make it past new years before I'm dead and in the ground

*ashes has been here for 1 year*

dat feel bro
OK, edited. I was just referencing ashes' comment in the discussion with stoner99, but it goes for all the CAG elders here (I'm an apprentice, if that). I've heeded their words and become a better CAG as a result. :bouncy:

I dunno what you get stoned with, but might want to ask your dealer for something besides banana peels, cause you come across as the angriest, most jaded stoner I have ever seen.

Too many "know it all's" on here for sure, every time I post lately some punk wants to show how smart they are and how clearly stupid I am. Wasting everyones time by filling every thread with nothing but superfluous opinions. And then of course I end up on a rant about punk/rude behavior.

And I'll repeat this again for the newbies, I'm not a stoner, that just happens to be my last name and the year I joined a particular web provider. Throwing that up just to win an argument is like I've said before, pathetic. If everyone can stop being a jerk for a second I'll stop being angry.

The irony is palpable.

You ever think maybe he's commemorating the nearly 2000 people who are stoned to death every year for spending too much money on digital downloads, you insensitive prick?

In other news: Puddle is surprisingly entertaining. Probably would be better as a mobile/tablet game with tilt functionality, but i'm enjoying it. The nitro levels were fun, the fertilizer ones not so much. Grabbed it from IGS the other day...it's still up for another hour as the bonus for OIOIOIOIOIOIO The Game.

I know precisely what irony is and you're engaging in it right now.  Denouncing people for rude/punk behavior... look at your last few posts.
