This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Clearly you don't know what irony is, show me where I started by telling someone how wrong they are or why my ideas are better. I love how only the last post is important in these "conversations". Context is key.
I tend to try not to get involved w/these conversations because they always end up a bit nasty...that being said, from seeing you get into these back and forths w/other members before, I think a good bet for you might just to be to ignore comments you find abrasive. Otherwise you wind responding with a comment that's equally or more abrasive, and whether accurate or not, it gives some people the perception that you're a bit of a derick...plus it can't be too pleasant having to be in stupid arguments about stupid things

I hope you don't misconstrue this as an attack or sum thang, just a bit of friendly advice/what I think/hope I would do if I were you

Let's not start the "what is irony" debate again. Hardly anybody here last time could use Google to see that there are about 4 different definitions for irony, which made the whole argument pretty ironic.

I haven't even been here a full year and I'm already an elder. At this rate I'm not even going to make it past new years before I'm dead and in the ground

I agree with you entirely, but I don't really see why the trolls should be allowed to troll without me pointing out they are trolls. I'm ok with being called angry as trolls make me angry.

I think Alanis Morissette taught us all that irony is having a shit ton of spoons when all you need is a knife

Direct quote btw

Ooo, ooo, I know, I know! Irony is like goldy and bronzy, only it's made out of iron!

Sorry, not taking sides, just had to post that "joke" - if you know who Baldrick is, you've already heard it before.

Edit: In fact, here you go:

Um, who exactly is being a troll? This all started because someone pointed out that the deal you posted wasn't that great, which I consider a useful bit of advice. Yeah, it may have come off as a bit sarcastic and jokey, but that's just the way most people are here. Lighten up man, no need to get worked up so much when nobody here means you any harm.

Dunno know what all y'all are bitching about.  Cuz clearly none of your opinions are right unless they are the same as mine.

HOOKERS RULE!

I went white water canoeing in Maine for two weeks. The only utensil we were allowed to carry was a spoon.
Couple guys in one of the other threads were very complimentary of your spooning skills.

Edit to add: Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I live in Maine, and can confirm that this is true. We laugh at all the tourists for their inability to use spoons properly.

Steam does have a feature that's supposed to be for that, but it's pretty much useless. Most of the times that it did actually email me it was for games that had been discounted for over 24 hours already, and many were for the low-discount duration sale rather than the daily/flash/community choice price.
I got near instant notification on Ironclad Tactics today... So maybe its gotten better. :)

While we're on this topic, I was bemused to learn how an enormity of words do not mean what I think they mean.  When I conversate with people, I notice they tend to make a travesty of the English language by using words inappropriately and redudantly.  However, I felt compelled to study the language more and found myself perusing the following link.  Now I am just nauseous with the way I've been misusing the English language: oh the irony!

I recommend learning how to use these words correctly; one day you too may be a terrific purveyor of grammar just like me!

Ten words that you've probably been misusing

...and you had to ruin it by saying "conversate".

Thanks, I totally read that whole thing and did not get distracted by the topless chick in the sidebar...

[Sweeping Generalisation]
I love it when Americans argue about irony.
[/Sweeping Generalisation]

Now that's out of the way, you can all get onto the big news of the day:

I won't be getting a beta Steam Machine. So angry right now. I'M NEVER BUYING FROM STEAM EVER AGAIN*

Hahaha! Me neither, no siree boob - er, I mean, "bob"...

Reminds me of those "gentlemen's magazine" shots from the 70s when I was a kid, before the Internet made everyone a total pervert and looking at a pretty topless woman was no longer enough.

Steam Winter Sale Bingo!

Bumping this once. If you are interested, please go here, and like the post.

Anyone interested in Steam Winter Sale Bingo?

I found a way to generate custom bingo cards. We'd just have to decide if there is a enough interest, rules, buy-in, rewards, etc. Then maybe make . . . yet another Steam group.

Like this post if you are interested in joining, and reply if you have ideas/suggestions. If I get 15+ likes, I'll make the Steam group and work on sending out invites.

Example Card Attached.

I noticed the Legacy of Kain Collection is $6.25 ($5 w/ discount) right now, has this been cheaper in the past?
I'm afraid we can no longer offer advice like that... It could lead to more troll talk.

The historic lows for all the titles involved are around 1.5 to 1.75 each... So if you want all the titles its pretty solid, and with it being so old its not likely to find a better sale that truly makes a difference... But it might end up being bundle fodder.

Edit: My numbers are off as I couldn't find the collection on steam... Yeah, its been cheaper before as pasports pointed out.

Main problem I had with the game is that the difficulty relies far too much on who gets ahead of everyone else in the first or second turn. If you manage to not screw up those turns, you're safe through the whole race.. If not, it can be ridiculously hard trying to get in first place. There's not much "racing" to it, which is a major flaw in a racing game. The main thing the game has going for it is Steam workshop, but the custom tracks I've tried were uninspired.
I didn't mind this too much, because out of the gate the CPU goes so out of its way to get in first that they all boost and crash on the first turn and you can easily hang back and slide into the lead with all your nitrous intact. That doesn't make the game any better, really, but I kind of like the slidey physics on the turns and I like winning against imaginary enemies, so for me it was a good fit.

We're literate PC Gaming Master Racers.
I hate racing games.

Is Gamefly for serious, their weak ass winter sale is the worst. They're so excited to email me these awesome deals every day, I check and they always suck ass.
Seems a little harsh. I think the gamefly sale has had some gems, though most things have been nothing to write home about. Go look at uplay's 12 days of Christmas for a "weak ass winter sale."

And I'll repeat this again for the newbies, I'm not a stoner, that just happens to be my last name and the year I joined a particular web provider. Throwing that up just to win an argument is like I've said before, pathetic. If everyone can stop being a jerk for a second I'll stop being angry.
In that case, have you considered expanding your mind, dude?

Mind Link's got a guy.

If I had started it, I would agree. But thanks for your opinion.
You didn't find it superfluous?

I'll bring the record player and Velvet Underground discography on vinyl, and you stop by KFC on the way and pick up 80 Doubledowns and a small water.

Oh.

We're not talking about that kind of irony?

I now hate you. Even more than the rest.

Your name is going on The List.
don't worry, i'll smash 5 in your honor

It's not a bad deal, but the collection is commonly bundled together. Pretty sure it was like, 4 dollars from gmg around black friday. Doubt it hits that deal again soon tho

Dear Jesus...don't ready any of Tebow's posts.

If you need all three of those *today* well sure. Given the average size of the backlog of Steam-Thread-CAGs, we generally can wait. It's not like those are new releases that we'd rather not wait on.

The best price today arugment is rather fallacious. If a game is only 50% off MSRP today, that doesn't make it a good price when it's sold for less recently (and thus will see that price again).
While we are discussing the incorrect definition of words. I got so excited after reading this post, until I actually went and read the definition of fallacious.

#AreYouSmarterThanA5thGrader

I wish there was a thread where only actual information about game prices was posted. I swear there are only about 15 posts a day containing actual information and the rest are just nonsense. For those of us with jobs finding the gems has become difficult.
