New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

I have no fucking clue who this Babo guy is that you guys are talking about. So if he is somehow connected to the hacking, then I guess I'm safe.
Is it this guy?

You guys are welcome to hack my Steam account. I have Steam Guard, my associated e-mail was deactivated in October, and my password is 17 characters long.

Your account haven't been online in 6 hours... You have 201 items in your inventory. Hope those numbers provide some relief.. :)
now up to 331, god I hope he isn't scamming fellow cags. :(

WTF dude?!? Your password was 12345 or something? Never reuse the same password you use on your luggage...
of course not. lol that's way too long.

Neither did I. I also made sure to use a very unique password on their site since it looks so dodgy.
sadly, I didn't even create an account on bundle bandits, signed up for their dumb ass newsletter though.
Received a follow up email from bundle bandits.
hi

The emails were sent manually from an excel file and accidentally not dragged in the bcc, it was a mistake that will never happen again,

But i can assure you that we have nothing to do with hijacking accounts.
we do not store passwords on our side of the system.

I truly sorry for this all.

kind regards,

at least I got an extra key for penis frenzy which I'm not even sure I could give away.

We should at least acknowledge that sunasun's hacker has truly awful taste in games - recent activity shows he's put over 21 hours into Orion: Dino Beatdown.

There's no other possible explanation for it.
lol @ flowette, no that was my kid's hours into it before my account was hijacked. he's extremely into dinosaurs. The many hours of Musaic Box, now that was all me

Ah, here's a cool website to use to determine the strength of your password.. How Secure Is My Password?

According to the site:

It would take a desktop PC about
5 quintillion years
to crack your password
Sad to say, but sunasun's password "burgersrock" can be cracked in 10 days.

So I type in something that I think would be a hard thing to crack, and I did use this as a password before but don't currently. The site tells me

It would take a desktop PC about 290 undecillion years to crack your password
In the box underneath it it says

Your password looks like it might just be a word and a few digits. This is a very common pattern and would be cracked very quickly.
I'd like to see them try.

Edit: If your password is the entire English alphabet in order it would take a desktop PC 48 quintillion years to crack. Hmmm . . .

So, what's a better buy from GameFly...

Defiance for $4.99 (before coupons) or The Bureau: XCOM Declass for $12.49 (before coupons)?

Any modders improve the AI yet?

AI looked pretty bad in reviews that I've read/seen.
The AI is still pretty terrible.

Your squad is useless for the most part unless you are giving them orders directly from the squad menu, and then it can be hit or miss, as their pathing on move commands rarely sticks to cover in any intelligent way.

Enemies spam grenades endlessly, which means 60% of your time in battle is dodging out of the way of explosions.

I actually enjoyed this game a decent amount, but when it was bad, and it sometimes got quite bad, it was incredibly frustrating to play.

EDIT: Has anybody figured out what determines when CAG 3.0 will decide that your line breaks shouldn't be line breaks and smush everything together?

Can you completely turn off the game's AI and micro-manage their every move like in say old BG games and DAO?

Time doesn't stop when you enter the menu, it merely slows down to quarter speed or so, and you cannot turn the AI off completely, though I think you can queue a couple of actions. You can at least order your move command and then the command following will judge its range based on the future position. That's about as complicated as it gets. And giving orders past Mass Effect style "use ability on target enemy" commands is difficult in battle due to the slow-down in tactics menu rather than pause.

For those that watch video reviews and such on YouTube, this is a pretty interesting watch:

haha, so here's a pro tip from someone who's been in the IT industry for 30+ years (TRS80's and before). If you're daft enough to take your killer password and type it into a website, where it could be captured and associated back to you (cookies or worse), you may not be as concerned about security as you thought you were. If I was a devious Russian, I think that would be my site.

Was this an option that you had to enable? I went to invite ashes shortly after she posted, but none of the check boxes showed on the page with my friends list.
Yeah, I'd forgotten that that's another alternative to a Public group.

Congratulations!
Glad it happened to a CAG as prolific. And Voken too? Damn, we got 2 CAGs in out of 300 (out of 7M Steam users not really).
