DUDE!!!! That idea is GOLD! People of all platforms will be welcome! There will be peace and harmony!
The peace and harmony will only last until a console peasant asks if he should play COD:Ghosts or Zumba Fitness first... I kid I kid :)

Also, congratulations to spoderman and MrNinjaSquirrel for getting 25 of my hints correct!

As requested, here are the rest of the answers:

spoderman: Won a steam box. Now everyone hates him or wants to be him.

pasports: The voice of reason against recent trolls. Gets trolled anyway.

tebowdragon: I need rosetta stone to understand his posts.

RollingSkull: Seems to hate commonly popular indie games. Objection!

JakeNome: May have mafia ties in the ukraine... somehow finds time to review lesser known games. also our favorite panda.

Neuro5i5: Avatar reminds me of PSY... so I hate him.

Cheaplikeafox 3.0: Master of Happy Hour

sunasun: Loves burgers... perhaps too much. Also loves epic multi quote posts.

Idiotekque: Left CAG because his pictures kept getting reported. Obsessed with Secret World and wrote a 64 page research paper on it; always willing to link to his report whenever the topic comes up.

MysterD(erick): Wages a lonely eternal war against DRM. Also might be a robot.

Motoki: Loves to play lesser known games; started the BGCQ craze.
*someone mentioned Motoki may not have actually started the craze... maybe hal or Sasquatch did?

walkonshadows: the last metroid is in captivity. the galaxy is at peace.

asheskitty: Connoisseur of driving games. Back from hiatus.

BigSpoonyBard: Graces the beginning of every steam sale with his classic guide for steam sales.

Blade: 6 months old with DD's.

Mooby: Hates every game and console peasants. Rare is the day when he praises a game.

TheEnd: Has beaver fever

snakeybro: All hail Geoff Keighley

MrNinjaSquirrel: Wears a tophat. Uses quizzes and riddles for his code drops so that he can secretly educate us.

DrabeLincoln: Hates Lost Planet. Might be a zombie.

pantsattack: Father of Carl Grimes
*apparently MulderYuffie also changed his avatar from Kenny to Rick, so that worked too... but for the code drop to work, it'll need to use pantsattack's name :)

Deuterium7: Ellie's foster father

hal: serious business monkey

InmateOfArkham: Everyone's favorite turian

Flowette: Leaving for Hoggwarts!

louiedog: Gives us updates on Greenlit games and other news

EarthboundX5: Fuzzy pickles!

MIND LINK: Talks like a drug dealer, most likely living in suburbia with a white picket fence.

Solid-Snake-Eyes: name of a genetically altered old man, avatar looks like a young asian girl. The discrepancy blows my mind. Dare I say... ironic???

Ikeda Teramasu: Kamehame Ha!

It's not a good way to play games, but I'm thinking that the reason I drifted away from them is because I wasn't that much interested in them any more.
I used to go by this as well, but one thing that I found out that was influencing me was tutorial levels. I still remember playing Mass Effect 2 for the first time (hadn't yet played ME1 and was only just getting into RPGs) and was on Freedom's Progress just hating it. I got through the level and was like 'Done'. Put it down for quite a while before picking it back up and well, most of you know that ME is now likely my all time favorite series. So, now I feel like I don't want to miss out on a game that may be good, but starts off slow.

Huntsman was almost mine, but I got SSE mixed up with Blade! :joystick:

Oh man.. I remember buying the LE/CE of that for Xbox at around the same price on clearance at Circuit City, years ago.

I'm turning into a console retail version of MyD.
Did you like the game tho?

If no, then you might be safe

Unless you use the word "ain't" to explain why you didn't like it

My thoughts on the Final Fantasy series: It is a love-hate relationship.

I remember buying Final Fantasy one on release day. I saved up money from allowance and odd jobs to get it and made my mother drive me to the store. I played the shit out of all summer. FF1, along with the old AD&D Gold Box Series, was my first jump into RPGs. Loved them. Played the first one SEVERAL times. I actually didn't play another FF until VII came out. It was a radical change for me, not so much because of the jump to 3D polygons, but more so because it left the old style fantasy for something that had a more sci-fi feel. I didn't like it at the time. I do now though.

VIII was okay. It had a weak villain though. IX wasn't bad. Like somebody said previously...a bit too juvenile. XII was a travesty. XIII was okay. Haven't played XIII-2.

I'm waiting for the re-release of X and X-2. I played a little bit of X and remembered liking it.

I didn't play VI until way late but I LOVED it. Kefka was awesome. So was the opera house scene.
FFX was the last FF game I played and I loved it. I'm happy to hear an HD re-release is on the way. Although I could never get into that Blitzball minigame, I always felt like the AI was cheating.

Kefka... such a classic.

I also have paralyzingly indecision choosing a game to play next. :(

Should I choose just ONE game to play all the way through, or 2-3 to rotate through?

I love the idea of a "What to play next" thread. Where should we post it?
Hey, you're not alone, I have the same dilemma on deciding what to play next as well. I even thought it'd be a good helpful idea to create an ordered list of which games I was going to tackle head on. However, the problem with that was when I bought new games it caused chaos when I thought I had achieved order.

When I do attempt to juggle 2-3 games at once, I try to play different game types/genres so as to mix things up and keep gaming somewhat fresh. Like a platformer, an action RPG, and a FPS.

The clear answer to most questions is that if you haven't played Sleeping Dogs, play Sleeping Dogs.

That Bundle Stars bundle didn't sound bad until I saw that most of the games are RTS, which I have no love for.

What kind of BS is this... on both consoles you save $5 on AC Liberation HD if you own the AC4 season pass. On PC there is no such deal. That's no way to treat the master race! I need to buy this game.

You might want to wait to see how much they actually did enhance the gameplay over the Vita version anyway. If they're making the enhancements out to be more than they are then you're better off waiting for a sale.

Hey everyone, does Lara Croft's Definitive Edition remodeled face look different from the PC version or am I imagining things? They better give PC version these new upgrades if they exist, and do it for free. I don't want to miss out or have to double dip.

I just watched some interviews about it, I want the game for sure and wouldn't want to wait til the summer sale for a good discount. I have vince carter money so I'll already be getting the game for 25% off if you think about it that way. I don't have a Vita so improvements would be nice but it'll be a brand new game to me regardless.

Marc Eckō's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure is now on Steam and 50% off ($7.49) until the 19th.

Ha!
Ugh, I've forced myself to play through a lot of crappy games over the years, but that's one of a handful I couldn't deal with.

Speaking of the Final Fantasys, the original Final Fantasy Tactics on ps1/x is an awesome basic SRPG, with just enough FF flavor to not curdle your stomach, and a lot more emphasis on the job system and abilities. Those kinda games can turn into crazy timesinks though.

The talk about Dead Souls being frustrating reminds me of that semi-obscure PS1 Square RPG called Vagrant Story. It had some weird oblique connection to FF, but what I remember most about it was the unintelligible combat system. By the time I'd made it a few rooms in, I reached an enemy I couldn't kill because of how I'd leveled my weapon. Or some shit. I gave up and sold it to Gamestop for pennies when I should've waited a few years and flipped it on eBay for a lot more.

Posted the detailed press release on the Amazon thread but a quick recap here: Only five parties actively bid during the Amalur/38 studios IP auction.  Amalur and its related IP didn't receive high enough bids to warrant a sale (lol).  Rise of Nations/Legends and associated trademarks sold for $380,000.  Steamalur = forever in limbo.

Well, the results are in. Afte tallying the votes:

1. Sleeping Dogs
2. Witcher
3. Stalker
4. State of Decay

So naturally, I will be playing Two Worlds :)

But seriously, I think I'll start with Sleeping Dogs, and rotate with Witcher and Stalker when I need a change.

I'm kinda glad State of Decay came in 4th. I sadly got burned out on that game rather quickly.

I liked Tomb Raider quite a lot. It was a rare game that kept me interested long enough to finish. But I'm a long ways off from wanting a slightly prettier version of the game so much that I'd pay for it.

... or am I missing something?

Yeah I just wanted to make sure you knew that the Vita versions pacing wasn't like the other Assassins creed games, the missions were much shorter and the whole game felt like it was meant for short play sessions. Sounds like you've already looked up a bunch of stuff on the enhanced version so you'll have to let us know how it is when you get it.

And yeah, they did change Lara's face with the Definitive Edition.

Just wanted to mention this was just released on Steam for $2 (-20%). Seems like something the maniacal members of this thread would enjoy ;)
I think I'm going to have to check it out, thanks! The idea looks wacky enough to be fun, but then I noticed it was developed by RuneStorm, which created a few very high quality Unreal Tournament 2004/UT3 mods.

It looks to at least have one other companion game in the works.

Unfortunate considering all the detail they put into Amalur's backstory. Too bad it wasn't a better game.

Funny all the talk about FF with me finally polishing off Final Fantasy X the other day. So, I've finished 7,9 and 10. I know I'm somewhat of a minority, but 10 was probably the worst of the bunch. I couldn't care less about the characters. I liked 7 and 9, tho. I also personally think 12 is underrated, with probably the most usable macro system in an RPG I've ever played.

Have you ever played it? I can't help but feel it's a bit overrated at this point, but considering how old it is it holds up remarkably well. It's much more entertaining than the majority of the FPS games that come out nowadays.

It's one of those "you must play this game" games due to its significance
I tried HL2 several time (even bought the Black Box and Orange Box) but ...motion sick... (knowing what I know now, I should probably look in wider FOV/camera mods).

After trying different things, what works best for me is to focus on one game at a time. (With a an easy pick-up-put-down game on the side, e.g. a racing game.)

I vote for Sleeping Dogs... that game had a very strong story draw to pull you though the campaign.

I have the impression they made her face a little narrower. Looks like a regression to me. You spend most of your time staring at her hair and ass anyhow. Apart from her face, those are the PC version graphics.

This! Turn up all settings to 11 (including TressFX) and it is the most (detailed) beautiful game I've played. PS3/360 could not have done it justice.
