Xbox One Console Thread (Console is currently in stock as of 12/3 at Amazon)

I wanted Dead Rising 3 and Ryse. However, my idiot cousin convinced me to pick up NBA LIve 14, which makes me the bigger idiot. The cool thing that happened the manager was able to let me exchange it for any other game they had in stock. They had Need For Speed Rivals and Zoo something. I got Need For Speed, but the manager opened my game so I would not exchange. I am looking to trade or sell since it is practically brand new. Where exactly do I locate the trading forum your talking about.
Forgive me for not being helpful, but this sounds weird. You have 40 positive trade ratings but can't figure out how to navigate the site to find a subforum?

What I am saying is where is the Xbox One Games specific forum for selling and trading. Does that make sense now?
There isn't a XboxOne specific part. Just goto
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forum/20-trading/
And if you haven't made a thread there yet, make yourself one. Put your Haves and Wants, and you can also look at other peoples. There's a decent amount of people with both PS4 and XB1 games. Not sure if anyone is trying to get rid of DR3, seems like a bunch are looking for it. I offer one guy Forza 5 Day One Edition for it and he turned it down.

Stopped at Target to do some shopping and was a little surprised to see that they had quite a few PS4s and one Day One XB1. This was on San Carlos in Fort Myers if anyone is looking a Day One.

Day One Xbox Ones just went up on Microsofts store website.  If anyone is interested..  I'm a bit peeved because I looked all last week AND on BF and found nada.  The nearest M.S. store to me is about 1.5-2 hrs away.

That's just stupid! I bought one on BF(Thursday) and I know some people at launch that got one but not Day One. Why wouldn't all DayOne systems be sold before the normal one even went on sale. Not that it really matters, but being an early adopter it's just strange.

probably unsold reserve copies. I think The Microsoft store held on to them for 10 days which is why they would be showing up now.

This thread has been in my thoughts.  Monday morning at about 12:40am I bought my mom a laptop off Amazon and picked one-day shipping, just so I could be home when it was delivered and it didn't freeze outside.  I watched it casually throughout the day and it didn't ship until less than a hour ago and it'll be here in 12 hours.  This is now the latest I've ever had something ship, 8pm was the latest last time.

Something I'll keep in mind when considering when deciding where to pre-order the fourth iteration of the Xbox console.

Amazon's One and Two day shipping has turned into Two and Three for the holidays. I've never seen that happen before (been a prime member for 4 years now), but the last 5 orders I've placed over the past week or so have all been that way.

I know they now make usps thier main carrier in bigger markets not sure if that's why. For me one day shipping is like 5.99 for most items now not. 3.99.

This laptop was $3.99 for One-Day.  It's all on time and stuff, although it still hasn't arrived yet today but it should any minute.  I was just posting to say I now see how late things can ship and still make it on the promised day.  I remember that stressing a lot of people out a couple weeks ago.

So has anyone found out any cool things to do on XBOne that's not well know? I'm loving the snap feature, use it with fantasy football a lot.

Also Dead Rising 3 is a blast! A few friends and I just got done playing a. 4 hour session. Its a lot
More fun than I had originally thought.

We play the "holla game".  You start with something simple like "Xbox, On".  After a few seconds, "Xbox, on" louder.  Then my kid tries it, "Xbox, on".  Then my wife says (very quietly), "Xbox, On" and it comes on.  Then she tries "Xbox, Watch TV".  Nothing.  "Xbox, Watch TV", louder.  My kid says "Xbox, Watch TV" (screaming) and the Xbox clicks over.  So she says "Xbox, Watch Comedy Central" and it flips to "E".  We say "Xbox, Watch Comedy Central" and it changes to Lifetime.

Overall, it's a fun game.

Also, don't tell me to recalibrate the Kinect.  I've done so about 30 times.  With my A/V system at various levels of loudness.  And my room is dead quiet when I calibrate for silence.  If the NSA can hear me, I KNOW the Xbox can ;-)

Maybe, try creating different profiles for your wife and kid? That might help. In my case the Kinect is really good at recognizing my wife and I. It even says hello when one of us walks in the room.

If that doesn't work, I would contact M$ and get a replacement Kinect.

lol. nice. sounds like my house.

Oh the Kinect see's me just fine.  I truly feel like it's HAL when I walk in and it recognizes me and signs me in.  It just can't hear for a damn :)  I hope they do something to patch it a little better.  It is super nifty when it works like it's supposed to.

Not covered (that I can see) in your review... does everyone's XB1 TV feed act slow?  I say "Xbox on" and it comes up the feed is not connected.  I say "Watch TV" and it takes a good 10-15 seconds before Comcast is up and running.  It also does something wierd to my Comcast cable box where it pops up DVI for a few seconds (it's some sort of resolution reset).  Never did it before I hooked it through the XB1.

P.S.  It wasn't covered because it specifically says you don't use Cable.. but I'm curious because it's something few people have touched on.

P.P.S. You also don't note on your review how the Kinect Voice functionality stops abruptly on apps like Messaging or Blu Ray.

"Xbox on" is not working for me. Kinect always on/auto sign-in is set up correctly, but still, it doesn't do anything when I say the words. :/

This seems to be a very common issue. My girlfriend was talking to some people at work that have Xbox Ones and they all are saying they are having the same issues that we are.

I talked to some guys at school yesterday and asked if they had had any Kinect issues ad they said it's been absolutely perfect for them.  He did say that he accidentally resumed his paused game of Dead Rising 3 when on the phone and he said "Resume".

And I allow for my sick nasally voice too.. it's just ... inconsistent I guess is the best way to say it... if I say it 2-3 times in the same tone it'll eventually understand me.. but I shouldn't have to repeat myself over and over or I'd just rather use a remote...

did you do a complete system reset ?
As in reset it to factory defaults? I didn't do it, but the Xbox did it by itself today. I changed the system's name and proceeded to check its information (serial number, etc.) when it crashed and went back to the looooong green screen of initial setup. So weird.

About "Xbox on" or regular voice command issues? I've been hearing a lot of stuff about Kinect not understanding voice commands, but not about my specific issue. My Kinect struggles to do what I tell it when it's on the dashboard ("Xbox, go to activity" worked only once, out of hundreds of times I've tried, for example). However, when playing Ryse, it listens and responds pretty well, even when I'm speaking using a regular, lower voice tone (at the dash I have to SCREAM and yet it fails to comprehend).

The only command I've really had to say twice every time has been "Xbox, on", outside of that it's been working pretty good (there is still the occasional command it wont pick up the first time I say it, but turning it on seems like I ALWAYS have to say it twice, it's still WAY better then the first Kinect though)

Every time the XO doesn't understand one of my commands, I expect this to pop up on the screen:

4C7iu09.gif

Gamespot had a video showing how the Kinect can't understand certain accents. The guy in the video has an Irish accent and his Kinect wasn't listening to him but mine heard him and did what he said lol

That's pretty funny! Watched a video on IGN yesterday, and one of the guys said "Xbox turn off.....yes". Then said "somewhere in the world that worked"

I think of the Star Trek movie with the whales when they go back in time to 80s and Scotty tries talking to the computer. "Hello, computer?"

I haven't had any real issues with Kinect or the Xbox One in general.  My only issue has been it doesn't recognize some of the channels by voice like NBA TV and Big Ten Network.

Yea but I can say that Lifetime and E are NEVER turned on in this house.  Until that XB1 reminded my wife they existed.  Now it's a crappy movie-athon.

I had a weird problem this morning where it didn't turn on any of my equipment and it wouldn't show tv.  Had to power down, remove the power and basically cold boot.  It fixed it, but was definitely odd.  By the way Dead Rising is pretty cool so far, course I've only played to getting to the restaurant, but so far liking it a lot.

Weather maybe? UPS and FedEx have been having to delay a lot of packages due to some nasty weather in the Midwest / Southern region. They will typically end up having to hold a package an extra day.

Got an Xbox One! Wasn't 100% planning on getting one yet, but I ended having $1000 Gamestop credit that required spending. Haven't unboxed it yet but can't wait to test it out and set up an account.

Don't want to sound like a troll but they either must not be selling well or Sony just understocked the PS4. Because my local Gamestop was easily able to pull one out for me and they ended up pulling out 2 more for some other people.

Well this is starting out to be a nightmare. First it took forever to figure out why the system isn't getting an HDMI input on my TV. Now it won't update it keeps saying there's an error with the update, so I tried rebooting and that didn't fix now I'm stuck downloading the update on Microsofts site. What a joke.

Got my Xbox one from amazon yesterday.  Was surprised that it was still a "day one" edition.  liked the idea of being able to switch to cable tv but ended up connecting tv directly to cable box since I don't want the console on just to watch tv
