New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Like Quotas: Because web admins are bitter and being positive sucks.
I know, right!

So there I am, having a good time, reading someone's post. And so I reach for like-button only to have a big popup throw in my face "For you the fun is over!" And instead of letting me go on my slightly less merry way, no, it stands there like some bridge troll, "you must agree that your fun is over" in order to read more.

Imagine if facebook instituted a like quota...

Just got a beta key for Windborne from Hidden Path I guess for having signed up for their newsletters. Check your emails if you wanted one and have signed up for the Hidden Path newsletter.
Got one of those as well. I assumed mine was from Kickstarting Defense Grid 2.

I rarely try out these betas, but Hidden Path is awesome and it looks like kind of a cool open-world game... so I'm in.

So I know they're all the 'worst holiday sale ever' but this promo seems particularly lazy to me. Repeat of cards plus items in F2P games? Funniest part is 'spend $10 to get a card!' Wow, $10 = one card… of a set of 8 (I have no idea)… that will probably net you a 25 cent item! With Amazon if I buy a $0.50 DLC I get a $5 EC coupon. Seems like a no brainer.
Agreed that it is horrible, but it is GENIUS from Valve's perspective. People who want a super rare TF2 item will spend hundreds on Snow Globes and also cards from other games to get more snow globes. They finally created a reason to buy cards for something more than just having a number go higher. Sure, that reason is just to gamble on silly junk for F2P games, but people are gambling on it like crazy (as people will do any time they have a chance to gamble).

I've made close to $45 on the steam market over the past few hours. All my overpriced cards are moving. Stuff that I've had listed since June is finally selling.
damn it, I can't sell anything till the 29th, fucking hacker. and everything i had on the market was put back into my inventory, so I can't even sell my old stuff that was previously on the market. but on the upside I didn't lose anything /brightside

Maybe it's just me, but does it seem like the sales on both Amazon and Steam have just been rehashing the exact same deals lately. Sure there are some notable exceptions, but for the most part, it's like they run the exact same pricing over and over with the exact same bundles (screw you bioshock, civ, guy in dubai game bundle) ... perhaps I visit these sites too often but I don't feel like the caliber of deals is as high as they were a year or two ago?

And they're targeting the suckers who play F2P* games.

*Path of Exile excluded, due to cosmetic-only pay stuff.

FTL Won 38%

Can anyone recall such a strange discount (55%) on daily/flash/community in past sales?  I don't.

(I remember my anger and disappointment at widespread 60% discounts in Autumn, or was it Summer.

Steam users are (in general) idiots.

Card market is on tilt. Trash cards I put up months ago and never bothered to relist are selling today. Up $20 in funbux since this sale started which, by my math, makes this the best Steam sale ever.
:wall: Typical. I sell my cards predicting lower prices like last year, so valve changes the rules (cards disappearing after the sale ends, no lvl limit) on the promotion.

In case anybody didn't kno:

I took a gander at the pinball fx2 store page - Ms. Splosion Man and the Balance of the Force pack are 75% off, making them 74 cents and 2.50, respectively. The balance of the force pack comes with all the star wars tables NOT included in the humble weekly sale.

Wait, what? The cards are vanishing after the promotion ends?

Edit: Well damn. Looks like I'm gonna be crafting the highest level badge I can...

Your American pop kulture references are no match for my ignorance!

<looks up who this Phil R bloke is... wth is duck dynasty>

Call me naive or optimistic, but each new sale I hope that Darwin took out a few of the imbeciles between the last sale and maybe the voting won't be idiotic again.
There's nothing like the unwashed masses to dash one's naive hopes for humanity.

More community vote lols, but at the very least we can all be impressed that the three games being voted on are all good.

Ms. Splosion Man is a nice table - fast and high scoring, lots to do.

Bought 'n' bought. And then I got gifted the Excalibur & Dr Strange tables from the CAG Holiday Gift Group, so imma happy (pinball) playa! Off to up my superscore.

I don't think you're naive or optimistic

I do, however, think that it seems you may have a limited understanding as to how evolution works

Then again, you're just a fox

it ben bundle dubmass of the year vote
Couldn't have said it better myself!

That is one of my favorite tables. In a game with lots of bleep-blooping, that table bleep-bloops the hardest for me, and I bleep-bloop it right back.

@ everyone talking about the bad community choice votes: 99% of the time, the games that lose get dailies and / or flash spots.

Oh boy, card prices are up! Oh boy, I have 81 cards left to farm! I'm sure these cards will retain their value once I'm done farming, right? I've always had good luck with this sort of thing before!
