New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

According to Enhanced Steam it's only been in a bundle once surprisingly. If it hits 90% off I'll probably buy a copy but I didn't vote for it.
Dang. I thought it was in a few other past bundles. My mind is playing tricks on me...

Then again, I don't purchase a lot of bundles.

My turn to give a little something back to the community...

What are the chances Ys 6 and Origins go 75% off?
Um, 0 because Ys 6 isn't on Steam.

If you mean Ys 3 (aka Oath in Felghana) and Ys Origins then I'd say at least one of them will probably make it to a flash deal at some point. If they put them up for a vote though it will probably be again some lame game for 15 cents and lose.

I *tried* to cut Squirrel off, but...

I swear *hic* I didn't drink *stumble* that much...murry Christmas from...somewhere...the bottom of a bottle...

75% off the FX2 tables was a nice surprise. They've never dipped below 50% that I've seen. I guess the success of that bundle really loosened them up.

Bundle fodder:

Replace the * with the single character derived from the clue below the key:

A Valley Without Wind 1 and 2 QR*9G-BVGLD-9VDZ6

the version of our resident master bundle host

Hacker Evolution Duality *KIP2-6BFD5-9VCHP

the first letter of the second word in the title of the tropical time management game that swept through the CAG Steam Thread, spawning its own Steam group.

Sad that Long Live The Queen didn't win. I'd consider buying directly from the dev, but if I can't use my GabeNBucks, I'd rather wait for 755.

Merry Christmas from the thread pedant!

Thanks, I'll give the free version a try now. The video that you posted looks like a blast to play. My interest is peaked.
Picqued.

At 10AM on Jan. 2 PST tell me what the date and time will be in Hong Kong. Valve is likely using a static backdrop on it's site across regions.
...which is just west of the International Date Line and a time that occurs back on January FIRST here in the United States. You're doing your reasoning backward. Stating that ending on the second here would be the third there would have made better sense.

So I'm real tempted by the $10 Remember Me on GMG. I know it'll probably be cheaper someday, but seems like it might be a decent game for 10. What are your thoughts? Anyone care to weigh in?

I looked around at some metacritic blurbs and watched a Totalbiscuit video, decided to pass on the game as a result. Seems to have a good sense of style but not much else.

The Q.U.B.E DLC is 75% off on GMG (+20% off if you use GMG20-ZB5D1-93X49), making it $1. Also gives $0.10 back in credit after purchase.

A bit better than the price it would've been if it had won the community vote.

sanks for a valley without wind

Yeah, I just started playing it today, and so far my thoughts generally mirror that of Kevin VanOrd at GameSpot and Total Biscuit. It feels like Uncharted, except where the platforming tells you exactly where to go for every moment, and the dialogue uses cringe-worthy names such as 'errorist'. It is certainly shaping up to be an eye catcher (although it's only DX9 and looks it), and the combat isn't a half bad Batman-esque style system (although as people noted, it does force you to dodge a lot). The music is really good, and auto adjusts neatly with the combat system, and so far that and the art style are the high points.

I'm enjoying it for what it is so far.

Shiny Loot has Doorways for $2.50 as a daily:

http://www.shinyloot.com/doorways-chapter-1-and-2?re=custom-filter-exact-1

It's their 12 day of Christmas starting today. Not the $1.50 it would have been on Steam but does come with a Steam key.
My initial impression of that game from watching Spooking with Scoops isn't great, but for $2.50, might be worth a look at. The general take away from watching Klepek's playthrough is it was more atmospheric than scary.

There was a Daily Deal in September when they were 66% off, pinball fever just barely contained. Then the bundle came out and drove the monkey to the airport.

buy it!! Its the most underrated game of the year. Dorito Santa Pope has spoken
Done, if it will please Dorito Santa Pope. In all seriousness, looking into it, the story seems worth the price of admission. Thanks for the feedback, Snakeybro and Solid Snake Eyes.

To everyone here, Happy Festivus (or any other holiday you celebrate).

:p

I guess I confused it with Ark of Napishtim from when I played them on psp.

Phew! Almost missed the Pinball FX table sale because of an Xmas dinner with family & friends. Gotta get my priorities straight.

Man, you missed an excellent opportunity to reply with "Gotta get 'em all!" in Max's voice from the Epic Quest table.

Thank you for Doc Clock.

Also, I love the kindness being showed by all sort of people around here. I went to sleep last night and woke up to gifts from CAGs I had no right to get.
Karma's a cool chick.

This is probably the most disappointing steam sale I've ever experienced.
Just wait until you experience the next one. Summer Sale 2014: worse than any sale before it.

up his what?
Peehole.

I can tell you right now that you won't like it. At all.
No clue why I was quoting this, but I like it.

Hahah, people are so dumb.
Hey!

That said, you could put DayZ or Rome II up there for 99¢ vs Dota2 for 1¢ and Dota2 would probably still win. Because people are stupid.
That would be a good choice. Get dem Dota cards for one cent and save some money on a silly zombie game and wait for Rome II to be bundled.

Quick question for you Steam/PC gurus...does Left 4 Dead 2 play fairly well on a Retina Macbook?

I'm stuck here at A-school and am looking for some compatible games for my laptop until I can get my consoles down here.

Also, would it play well using movement keys and a mouse for looking around? I plan on using my Dualshock when I can get it, but until then, I have to make due with my mouse and the trackpad/keys, etc. Thanks!
Left 4 Dead 2 should run fine. It has been mentioned, but there is zero reason to get the first one. If you like that, Killing Floor is good and sort of similar, also should run on that Mac.

Awesome! L4D series are some of my favorite games, not to mention they're really the only game of their type right now that does everything right. i'm sure you know what I'm getting at). Kept thinking I'd have to rebuy a 360 to play them, but when I saw today that they run on Mac, I was pretty stoked!
Have you played Killing Floor or Payday? Just curious, as I enjoy both of those more.

Sacrifice won:

Can't wait to save 49 cents on a game that came out when my dad was hanging out in my grandpa's balls.

So at 1:58 I decided I might want Trackmania. Quickly googled to see if there was local split screen. Didn't find anything. Rushed to the community page, searched "local" clicked through a topic. Saw that it did, added it to card at 2:00 a.m., and bought it at 2:01 ... wooh
