I knoooooowwww, there's a lot of games coming out in the next few months, I figured if I could get a good chunk of them out of the way in this sale, get the money out of there and just prepare to game! Should be a set for a while, best part is with the 20% off and the B2G1 glitch, I paid less than $180 for all 6, which is how much 3 would cost at launch with a normal price! So that's a pretty darned good deal :D

My gosh, I had forgotten how intense Insanity is. Been a while since I've done it. I probably shouldn't have done the workout today while on an empty stomach. 

Interesting about the Gears thing. To be honest, I'm surprised they hadn't done it earlier. I hope it ends up being than Judgement (I haven't played it). 

I'm not sure just which games I will be buying within the next few months. I'm hoping the PC version of Dark Souls 2 is delayed so I don't have to worry about it yet. I'm kind of hoping some awesome flip is possible either at GS and BS soon. So many games.  :drool:

Color me surprised. I bet that means we'll hear something about Gears of War: One at E3 this year. I wonder how much it cost them considering how poorly Judgment did.

That's awesome! I hope there's some deal almost as good around when tax money comes in. If so, I'll pick up a few things. I need to get a few games just to leave at my girl's place.

Yeah, a Gears for the One is all but confirmed now, and I can pretty much guarantee they will make it better than Judgement, they know the fan reaction to that haha. Someone was talking about how it means they'll have a bigger/Halo like budget to make the game now probably as well, so who knows what direction they will take in it. I'll probably end up picking the game up either way though!

Yeah, I don't have a huge amount of extra gaming money but I had some BB gift cards and figured some free games will help ease the cost, I mean Fable/FF are only 40 normally and EDF is 50, but I wasn't sure I'd be getting them all right away normally, but for this price I can handle it!

Let's all hope for good deals around the time when you get your $! Then Joel can have some games at TWO places! :O

 
More Pokemon Y yesterday. Got the 4 the and 5th badges.

I thought Metroid Other M was alright. My least favorite Metroid game for sure, but I had fun with it and liked that it was at least something different in the series. I also didn't mind the story, voice acting etc. Nothing great by any means, but I kind of liked having a Nintendo franchise game with more attempt at a plot and voice acting.

Meh.  Gears is a dead franchise.  It's kind of sad that Black Tusk got that shit dumped into their lap.  That's what you get for being competent and recently acquired by MS...

 
I still haven't finished the God of War collection. Played thru the two PSP games and the first GoW, then I got burned out about halfway thru GoW 2 and never could bring myself to keep going. Each one is pretty much the same game as the one before it, and I do think they would be better suited with restarting the entire franchise than having another "Kratos is pissed off at the gods! Kill stuff just like you did in the 6 other games!"

I guess we would have to know what you didn't like about the one you played in order to make a more informed decision for you.

I played the original Freedom. It had an INSANE amount of loading which really killed it for me, and it overall felt REALLY slow and clunky not just on purpose (which I assume it retains as its style), but due to poor execution/tech restraints it felt like a clunky rendition of a clunky game.

 
The only way to really enjoy Monster Hunter is slog through the 30-40 hours of pure grinding it takes to make the game interesting enough to play with other people.  If you don't like 80% grinding, and 20% coming to grips with archaic controls that result in uncancelable frames of animation, you aren't going to enjoy these games.

i finally got a chance to play the lightning returns final fantasy demo, and submitted my score to square enixs online scoreboard. Even though i was spamming health potions like crazy. LOL

I don't really think I'd consider Gears dead, there's still plenty of people playing them online now and after Judgement I know a lot of people that want another REAL Gears game

Same here, I own all of them but I barely beat any of them, they do feel close to the same. I did like the multi in Ascension though

You probably wouldn't, not because it's terrible though, it's actually a great game! But if you didn't like one of the older ones they basically play exactly the same with new items/Monsters. It's a blast if you can get a group going but other then the Wii U one or the PSP ones through a PS3 not many have online play unfortunately. It is a big grind but I enjoy fighting all of the monsters so it really doesn't bother me.

I just realized that all of the stuff people are saying about Nintendo today is the same stuff that people were saying about Apple in the mid 90's. Man, Ninty is going to make one hell of a comeback one day.
