One of the Walmarts near me (StoneCrest maybe?) had a handful of really good deals in Novemeber. When I went to one post xmas it was some obnoxious bizarro clearance where have the stuff was still MSRP but with a red sticker. I really would love the fireboat but wasn't going to pay a lot. The Lego store near me at Discover mills has some City stuff at 30-50% off so I may head back next week to see if anything is worth getting.

That is actually what happened here. Sunday the Doc Ock set I got was red tagged but was still full price. I went ahead and bought it since it was retiring. Then yesterday I saw that clearance thread...went back and the set still had the same red sticker that was full price but it rang up $21.

 
Walmart does that, they start off their clearance at full price.  It's why it's rarely ever reported in here because it's normally not national.

 
Just got back from Walmart and they had Jabba's Sail Barge and the Republic Gunship on clearance for $79. Picked up the Sail Barge as I just missed it on amazon for $83 the other day.

 
I lurk but dont resell :) I just like hearing news and the occasional deal.

My son just turned 3 but he loves Legos and now my 6 year old daughter is really having fun helping us build.
 
I know there are some lurkers from tnb that visit here. There's not much you can do about it though besides using the groups instead of the thread.
 
It's why I rarely post links for AWD.  I figure people here know how to use, and others it might take more time to find.

Plus I'm lazy sometimes, but that excuse sounds better.  :)

 
I just kinda watch and add in deals if I find them. I'll even chime in if I know some details :) Thanks for all the deals, though. I appreciate not having to look through all the ads and drive to all the stores. I'm really only looking for select sets for the family, and the occasional super cheap deals

 
Went to Wal-Mart today.  I thought it would be a wasted trip since I was there Friday.  I was wrong.

They didn't have much on clearance.  SpongeBob Flying Dutchman, LR Mine (tag for $35, but no sets) and one GS Galactic Titan for $49, which I promptly bought.  They also were clearancing the GS Vermin Vaporizer, but it was not at a great price yet.

LOTR Black Gate was not on clearance and the Batcave was red-tagged, but still $69.99, as it was on Friday.

 
It's really hit and miss, I know a few the of the stores near my have nothing and still looks like a mess since Christmas. I have to check a few stores but I'm not really in a hurry or rather I just don't care.

 
For a great deal, and if your WM has them, do a price match from TRU for Marvel Super Heroes and get the exclusive Iron Patriot minifigure bundle at WM.  They may give some resistance but I was successful.

great idea...i didnt realize there were any of these still out there, thought it was preorders only but there are a couple stores near me that still have them. I may grab one even if they dont match it cause that thing is going for $30+ on ebay and will probably only get worse. Heck its only 44.99 on their website and amazon is offering 22.50 trade in credit so it wouldnt be a complete loss if I cant sell the actual game on ebay or something.

 
I just bought my first Friends set, the newer bakery 41006 for $18.66 from AWD.  I regretted not buying the older one, with better pieces because I didn't like the fact it wasn't three walled, it was like 2.25 walls.  I'm hopefully going to mod it and use it in a Main Street display I keep meaning to do.

And the toysnbricks contest poll is up.  I skipped it when it became clear that the last one was rigged (The were new people just voting for each other) so if you are in it, post here or message me if you are rightfully paranoid.

Stopped by one Wal-Mart earlier, they had the Rancor Pit for $40 and the Z-95 Headhunter for $35, Wargs for $35, the Chase Mcain set for $22. They had a lot of the older Chima and Galaxy Squad on clearance, I don't remember the prices. Big Daddy will be happy if he could find any but they had a lot of the city sets on clearance.

EDIT: I just received an email from Regal, I guess they are giving away an Emmit figure in pajamas at participating theaters if you watch the real 3D showing.

I think I'm going to take my kids to early showing saturday to save money and avoid crowds. An AMC near us has leather recliners and apparently they are giving away a pretty cool robot.

Yeah Regal has the pajamas one and AMC has the robot guy. All the theaters in my area are Carmike lol.

Basically every one of these are on clearance at my nearest Walmart. Went back and they had moved them all to a random island thing in the middle of a big walkway aisle.

 
Braved the snow and stopped at my closest walmart. Picked up a construct a buzz for $7 and the stage coach for $21. Aside from that, they had the bug obliterator and the $100 galaxy squad sets for $50.

AWD has a Black Gate set for $44.xx and a wild west movie set for $9, so wish they had that earlier when I made an order.

I think one of the hidden lurkers stole the Black Gate.  Can I call lurkers fucking whimpy assholes?

thanks for the heads up on WalMart. I ended up getting a GS Hive Crawler for $35 and Battle of Smallville for $35. Passed on the Rancor Pit for $40; beside the Rancor and Guard, didn't seem like there was much to it.

Man thanks so much for this tip...my store had 1 in stock. The one lady was having to do electronics, photo lab, and the layaway/online order pick up station....she was going crazy, looked at the ad on my phone and said who cares. Lol 21.84 out the door :)

Might want to check your local Targets as mine did a whole new round of Lego clearance starting at 30% off.  Just off the top of my head...SW X-Wing, SW Rancor Pit, SW AT-TE, Ninjago Golden Temple and 3 or 4 of the $20-$30 vehicle sets, a lot of the Chima sets like the Eagle/plane fighter thing, most of the TMNT sets, the remaining GS stuff like the big $100 ship set, Hobbit Elrond set, Marvel Nick Fury/Spiderman/Venom flying car, along with a couple of City sets.  Noticed some Duplo on clearance too.  Good hunting!

Sold Out means that they don't know when the set will be back in stock. But it will return.

They had that temple for $75 the other day. I was tempted but I already went out of my norm and got the ninjago temple of light set for $39 about a week ago. That looks like a really cool set, I cant wait to build it. Im thinking about doing something with that and the palace cinema either next to each other or built into each other.

I have always thought Sold Out meant they weren't getting any more. Usually they put an estimated return date if its coming back. That already happened to me with the MF zombies set.

Anyone have the mindstorms set? I have seen it for 275-285ish range on AWD a few times now but I can never pull the trigger and it always sells out pretty quickly. It seems like fun and I am definitely interested in learning about the robotics/IT side of it. Just seems like a pretty steep price even on sale.

Typically, Lego S@H stock terms are pretty clear. Estimated re-stock date, sold out, Call for availability. I've been buying lego from S@H for years and have a crazy memory >.> I've never seen a set marked as sold out come back... Unless it was something that ended up at target months later, like the black friday deals.

Not to mention that the cuusoo sets were supposed to be limited release. 10,000, I think? That's changed thanks to the addition of liscenses like minecraft and back to the future, though

The 10,000 thing was a rumor that LEGO itself said was never correct.

I have seen "sold out" items come back all the time through the years, normally during the holidays or fall when they can't keep up.

 
Plus you have to be an AMC stubs member, and I heard you have to preorder the tickets. Not sure how strict they'll be following all that, I'll probably go to the smaller amc near me thats pretty laid back and hope I get them.
 
Looks like I'll be saving a ton of money this year.

Some more pictures, and they include Ultra Agents.  Such a mess, they look like rejected Chima  vehicles, have no set colors, really bad.
