LEGO Deals 3

I did notice the eyes on Homer are fully open...i hope all the others are too, they look a lot better than the ones in the house set.

Also, if anyone has any extra 30212 - The Hobbit Mirkwood Elf polypags they would like to sell, let me know before i spend $14-15 for one on ebay or Amazon...could never find this thing anywhere :(. Also have a Star Wars Clone Trooper Lieutenant 5001709 that I can trade since I do not collect the Star Wars figures...too many to get and I've held back surprisingly :)

May!?  Aw man, I could have sworn I read somewhere that they would release in Feb, along with the house.   I already got the house,  was hoping for some figures soon.

Nope. Minifigures get released in January, May and September. They would never release The Simpsons ones around the same time as the movie comes out.

Maybe next time don't buy the house so quickly. ;) Or better yet buy a second house, keep the mini figures and give me the rest. :whistle2:D

Just got a postcard in the mail from TRU

Fine print states the offer is valid between 2/2 and 2/8. You do need to have the postcard. Irks me since my wife and I just finished our Lego Movie minifigure set at TRU the other day.
That is a pretty good deal since last time I checked the Movie sets are MSRP at TRU (at least they were at mine).

Just one Simpsons one as far as we know.  They might show the September miifigures in a few weeks, they sometimes give a tease in the mini figures, however they normally show them in Germany too.  So it may be based on another license we don't know of yet.

FYI.  Meijer has an additional 50% off toy clearance Friday/Saturday 1/31 & 2/1.

MY wife got the Lego CREATOR Seaside House for like $19 and my First Lego Princes for like $3.75

They had a few Chima and some Galaxy Squad stuff too.  I got a 3 in 1 Car set in those green plastic case for $2.50

They had Duplo too for you younger kids

There is another one for the "late spring" ruling. I think it's more Nintendo holding it up than anything else. Late spring one doesn't have anything amazing, I'm kind of hoping for Adventure Time to become a set.
I'd like to see that or Sherlock, and I don't think Sherlock has a chance in hell. Tremendous sales potential for that, though, and would bring in a bunch of new customers, which would be the only reason it would survive. Much as I would love the Japanese Architecture, it's too awesome to get approved.

I wonder if the Zelda hold up has to do with Nintendo licensing with K'nex. Who knows what that contract says and it may have some vague language that gives K'nex exclusivity when it comes to building and construction type toys.
If that's the issue, I wish they would simply say so at the beginning and stop getting people's hopes up. If something is impossible due to licensing or whatever, just don't include it in the process rather than dicking around for months and months.

LEGO will just rule that the female mini figure set is too vague / similar to the Friends $10 sets and the CMS.
I think it would be tremendously smart to produce and pretty much a no-lose situation. It won't cost much to make and no licensing, like ufskenney said. It's a small piece count, which they seem to favor. They can distribute it just like Curiosity -- online only -- without seeming sexist. If it sells very well (and it should, for minifigure lovers), then it is a success. If it doesn't sell well, they can point to it and say "See? People really do want girly Friends stuff, so stop complaining."

In other words, it makes perfect sense and there's no downside, which is why CUUSOO will reject it.

Besides lincoln, any other president ever have a minifig for them? I'm amazed lego hasn't done a series like that yet. A lego set of Washington crossing the Delaware river would be an awesome lego set.

Finally finished taking apart my Winter Village sets.  Took the carousel apart last.  It was a fun build but taking it apart gave me a whole new appreciation for all the intricate details.  Amazing little set.

I will probably pick that one up next year. Did the cottage this year.

Just got $20 amazon certificate since my Evil Lair delivery was delayed. Was supposed to arrive yesterday afternoon and I didn't get any notification until this morning that things were delayed. I ordered it the day (Tuesday) the "big" snow storm hit and I had stuff delivered by UPS here on Thursday.

UPS is trying to use the weather as an excuse, but if that was the case they knew it would be an issue well before this morning. Had they been up front about slow deliveries I would never had said a word. UPS is supposed to be logistics experts. They can't tell me they didn't know they wouldn't have it here on time.

I just hope that Amazon can recover the costs from UPS since it really is UPS's fault.

I'd love the female scientist minifig set. I think it's pretty lame it hasn't just been greenlit.
The more I think about it, the more I think it will be greenlit. They would get slaughtered in area of public opinion if they turned it down. Lego Ghostbusters was one of the top searches yesterday, so it does get the public's attention. Can you imaging the search terms Lego denies women scientists?

It is not like they could hide behind the fact that they couldn't get licensing. Blandstalker has it right...sell online only, at least initially and you have a no-lose situation.

They had their opportunity to ax it and get away with it. They didn't take that chance.

Man my Orthanc set I bought on Monday was supposed to be here Wednesday...it got delayed, and finally updated Thursday and it hasn't moved since...kinda ridiculous since it has been perfectly fine since Thursday and they've just held onto it. I ordered a package on Tuesday and they shipped it via FedEx and it was delivered without delay on Thursday pretty early.

I think the female minifigure set will be greenlit. I've seen a lot of chatter/opinions online about how Lego is very sterotypical towards gender roles, so this would be the perfect oppertunity to shut those haters up.
The Zelda, I don't know what to think. I almost want to say if it was a licensing issue, they'd have already told us.

Looks like that TRU postcard is really for just the free polypag...all Lego Movie, City, and Creator sets are 20% off this week instore and online. The weekly ad also has the offer for a free movie ticket with a $50 purchase.

The Lego Movie sets are actually still listed as the normal MSRP so its actually a legit 20% off for those at least lol. :D

Also, not the greatest of deals but Target has Lego sets B1G1 30% off - http://www.target.com/sb/lego-toys-dvm/-/N-56h33Z55e69?lnk=Rpr. Plus 5% redcard and free shipping on all items Sunday thru Monday

I would be tempted to get a couple more movie sets for 20% off. I would like to get the poly but haven't gotten a postcard (probably won't get one either).

Yeah same here...id kinda like to get the big $70 set for only $56 but I think im going to hold off. The polybag is supposed be in stores so it should be $4 if its listed at 4.99. Ill probably pick it up saturday if they have it out when I take my daughter for the in store build.

I received my AWD Sail Barge. Everything was there but there's was no box. I don't care/want to box but it does make me wonder what happened to it. I'm guessing it was in such bad shape it wasn't worth shipping a larger package.

There was no box at all?! I have gotten sets where the box was destroyed and wrapped like a mummy but still had a box.

Grr thats what I am afraid of with the one set I bought. They had two on there but they were both the same condition and price with different descriptions. I specifically ordered the one that said it had a box but when I added it to cart is said "2 left" like they were the same identical item.

Also, because of the long shipping delay mentioned the other day, Amazon extended my Prime 1 month and is contacting UPS to have it marked as priority lol.

No box. I was nervous when I got the package because I knews the size meant no box. The rating was "good" and said "item is repackaged" or similar wording. Noticed Amazon had the sail barge for $83 new right now, which is only $8 more than I paid.

Yeah thats what the other one of mine said...one was very good with minor issues with the box and the other was repackaged but the same condition. I better get the one I actually ordered lol. I got a repackaged rapunzel tower for only $25 that should be here Monday.

My daughter (8) is the mini fig mystery pack whisperer! The only one I really wanted was the pants guy and she found him by feeling for 2 legs and nailed it.

They did a limited run for team Great Britain in the summer Olympics, right? Always wondered why they didn't do a team US back then.

Just a note about the TRU sale... I checked the website for what was in stock at my local store, but went to the store anyway and the website was completely wrong. So if you're looking for some of the movie Legos just go into the store.

I separated my purchases into $50 chunks for the movie tickets, but does anyone know if they just give multiple tickets when you buy more than 100?

AWD had a Creator House 31070(?) for $53, normally $70 but someone grabbed it.  Really awesome house.  I already feel stupid for not getting the Apple Tree house for $35 for 550 pieces, and want the beach house before they get retired.

Grabbed the garbage truck, ice cream truck, and kitty land movie sets for $64 at TRU and SURPRISE...they didn't have the bonus polybag set.  Gave me one Movie minifig pack instead and one movie voucher.

Saw that one Walmart actually clearanced the Lone Ranger Sheriff set to $35...only clearance I've seen at any Walmarts post Xmas.

Just a heads up...Walmart in my area had a ton of the lego aisle on clearance. I had just noticed the Super Heroes Doc Ock Ambush was retiring soon and a couple Walmarts in my area had them in stock so I bit on it at $30 just yesterday. Then today I saw someone post Walmart Lego clearance on SD so I decided to go back.

I got some Super Heroes sets I did not want to pay full price for at one of my local stores. I picked up:

The Quinjet $45 (none of my Targets had it in stock when it was like $30-35 after coupon)
Doc Ock Ambush $21 (gonna return the other one)

They had roughly 50-75% of the Lego aisle with red tags. Dont remember exact prices but what I noticed off the bat was:

The new Hobbit $20 set...was red tag but when scanned said see associate
The Attack of the Wargs

Goblin King
A few other Hobbit/LotR sets
All the Lone Ranger Sets
Some City, Ninja, and Chima sets.
Several Star Wars sets...including a 2012 Advent Calendar lol.
There may have been more but I was in a hurry but I will probably go back tomorrow since I need to return the one set I paid full price for.

Also, got my LotR Orthanc Tower from AWD today finally...box was a little beaten up and looked like nearly all the lego seals were broken but they just put a few pieces of tape over them. Opened it up and it had all 17 bags and appears to be complete so all is good I hope :)

*cough*

Must post fast before fiancee sees, but I got her the $70ish and 50ish house creator sets at B&N this holiday during their toy B1G1 50% off sale, and they let me stack a 30% off one item coupon with it, so I got both sets for under $70 out the door :D Gotta keep em a secret til her birthday, 2 months to go. She is going to freak.

The Quinjet set is still around places? Haven't seen that (overlooked) set in about a year.
Hah yeah same here. The Super Heroes sets I didnt really have to have them all but I have been buying some here and there. I was just going to get the one set and happened to see they had about 6-7 Quinjets so I grabbed one. I havent seen any anywhere else in a while personally. Toys n Bricks has also posted a Walmart clearance article just now...people have posted some pics of some of the prices theyve found in the thread on their forums.

I almost bought that one. I have been waiting for a sale on that set since it came out. Over $50 still seems like a lot for a house though. And I think I bought that apple tree house you are referring to. I got one last June for 37 from AWD.
