Nope. Minifigures get released in January, May and September. They would never release The Simpsons ones around the same time as the movie comes out.May!? Aw man, I could have sworn I read somewhere that they would release in Feb, along with the house. I already got the house, was hoping for some figures soon.
That is a pretty good deal since last time I checked the Movie sets are MSRP at TRU (at least they were at mine).Just got a postcard in the mail from TRU

Fine print states the offer is valid between 2/2 and 2/8. You do need to have the postcard. Irks me since my wife and I just finished our Lego Movie minifigure set at TRU the other day.
I hope I get that tomorrow. Good deal.Just got a postcard in the mail from TRU

No I think it's just 1 wave and they haven't said what the sept ones are yet?So the next two waves of minifigs are Simpsons? Guess that means three straight waves of saving money.
I'd like to see that or Sherlock, and I don't think Sherlock has a chance in hell. Tremendous sales potential for that, though, and would bring in a bunch of new customers, which would be the only reason it would survive. Much as I would love the Japanese Architecture, it's too awesome to get approved. There is another one for the "late spring" ruling. I think it's more Nintendo holding it up than anything else. Late spring one doesn't have anything amazing, I'm kind of hoping for Adventure Time to become a set.
If that's the issue, I wish they would simply say so at the beginning and stop getting people's hopes up. If something is impossible due to licensing or whatever, just don't include it in the process rather than dicking around for months and months.I wonder if the Zelda hold up has to do with Nintendo licensing with K'nex. Who knows what that contract says and it may have some vague language that gives K'nex exclusivity when it comes to building and construction type toys.
I think it would be tremendously smart to produce and pretty much a no-lose situation. It won't cost much to make and no licensing, like ufskenney said. It's a small piece count, which they seem to favor. They can distribute it just like Curiosity -- online only -- without seeming sexist. If it sells very well (and it should, for minifigure lovers), then it is a success. If it doesn't sell well, they can point to it and say "See? People really do want girly Friends stuff, so stop complaining."LEGO will just rule that the female mini figure set is too vague / similar to the Friends $10 sets and the CMS.
I will probably pick that one up next year. Did the cottage this year. Finally finished taking apart my Winter Village sets. Took the carousel apart last. It was a fun build but taking it apart gave me a whole new appreciation for all the intricate details. Amazing little set.
The more I think about it, the more I think it will be greenlit. They would get slaughtered in area of public opinion if they turned it down. Lego Ghostbusters was one of the top searches yesterday, so it does get the public's attention. Can you imaging the search terms Lego denies women scientists?I'd love the female scientist minifig set. I think it's pretty lame it hasn't just been greenlit.
Man my Orthanc set I bought on Monday was supposed to be here Wednesday...it got delayed, and finally updated Thursday and it hasn't moved since...kinda ridiculous since it has been perfectly fine since Thursday and they've just held onto it. I ordered a package on Tuesday and they shipped it via FedEx and it was delivered without delay on Thursday pretty early.I will probably pick that one up next year. Did the cottage this year.
Just got $20 amazon certificate since my Evil Lair delivery was delayed. Was supposed to arrive yesterday afternoon and I didn't get any notification until this morning that things were delayed. I ordered it the day (Tuesday) the "big" snow storm hit and I had stuff delivered by UPS here on Thursday.
UPS is trying to use the weather as an excuse, but if that was the case they knew it would be an issue well before this morning. Had they been up front about slow deliveries I would never had said a word. UPS is supposed to be logistics experts. They can't tell me they didn't know they wouldn't have it here on time.
I just hope that Amazon can recover the costs from UPS since it really is UPS's fault.
Yeah same here...id kinda like to get the big $70 set for only $56 but I think im going to hold off. The polybag is supposed be in stores so it should be $4 if its listed at 4.99. Ill probably pick it up saturday if they have it out when I take my daughter for the in store build.I would be tempted to get a couple more movie sets for 20% off. I would like to get the poly but haven't gotten a postcard (probably won't get one either).
Grr thats what I am afraid of with the one set I bought. They had two on there but they were both the same condition and price with different descriptions. I specifically ordered the one that said it had a box but when I added it to cart is said "2 left" like they were the same identical item.I received my AWD Sail Barge. Everything was there but there's was no box. I don't care/want to box but it does make me wonder what happened to it. I'm guessing it was in such bad shape it wasn't worth shipping a larger package.
The postcard was not national. Only a few select regions got the postcard.I would be tempted to get a couple more movie sets for 20% off. I would like to get the poly but haven't gotten a postcard (probably won't get one either).
No box. I was nervous when I got the package because I knews the size meant no box. The rating was "good" and said "item is repackaged" or similar wording. Noticed Amazon had the sail barge for $83 new right now, which is only $8 more than I paid. There was no box at all?! I have gotten sets where the box was destroyed and wrapped like a mummy but still had a box.
Yeah thats what the other one of mine said...one was very good with minor issues with the box and the other was repackaged but the same condition. I better get the one I actually ordered lol. I got a repackaged rapunzel tower for only $25 that should be here Monday. No box. I was nervous when I got the package because I knews the size meant no box. I was just thinking the same thing. Could be a good dovetail with the arctic sets since they could use a lot of the cold weather gear for the Olympians.Speaking of the Olympics, an Olympic minifig series would be awesome.
*cough*AWD had a Creator House 31070(?) for $53, normally $70 but someone grabbed it. Really awesome house. I already feel stupid for not getting the Apple Tree house for $35 for 550 pieces, and want the beach house before they get retired.
Hah yeah same here. The Super Heroes sets I didnt really have to have them all but I have been buying some here and there. I was just going to get the one set and happened to see they had about 6-7 Quinjets so I grabbed one. I havent seen any anywhere else in a while personally. Toys n Bricks has also posted a Walmart clearance article just now...people have posted some pics of some of the prices theyve found in the thread on their forums. The Quinjet set is still around places? Haven't seen that (overlooked) set in about a year.
I almost bought that one. I have been waiting for a sale on that set since it came out. Over $50 still seems like a lot for a house though. And I think I bought that apple tree house you are referring to. I got one last June for 37 from AWD.AWD had a Creator House 31070(?) for $53, normally $70 but someone grabbed it.
