This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

yea I was just on chat for about half an hour and ended up getting a refund since my purchase was at 1:01 or 1:00 on the dot
Good to hear. Generally, CS is easy to deal with as long as it doesn't happen too often.

The main thing is that you DON'T play it. A refund is much easier if it remains untouched. I always double-check that window before purchase though, because of exactly what happened to you. Regardless of whether or not you get a refund, a half-hour of dealing with CS is always fucking terrible.

My dad's main e-mail is AOL. And I still have my own AOL email since we used to pay for it, like 12 years ago now?

Talk to support immediately and DO NOT PLAY IT. Tell them what happened (though you can exaggerate a bit to help your case). At best they'll issue you a credit for the difference, at worst you'll get a full refund and they'll bar you from playing it.

If you're going to pay $15 for it, you're better off getting the disc version of Zuma's Revenge.

Wow. No guides, huh? I'm assuming the forums are as dead as dirt too. Yeah, the game is badly balanced when it comes to SP, but it's do-able. The best I can do is direct you to forums where the game may be talked about (XboxAchievements, GameFaqs, etc.)
Hah, don't worry, just kidding. Just thinking that I last used AOL in like... 2006? And MSN in like 2011... MSN is already pretty dead, AOL at this point is like Myspace.

On topic, looking forward to the new sales. Assasin's Creed Revelations aside we have no info.

My Xbox Live address is the Hotmail address I signed up for back in 1996, when the company was still an independent start-up and the internet had first found public acceptance. So...

Not related to any sales or anything, but have any of you guys played and beaten All Zombies Must Die? I was enjoying it at the beginning but now I'm about halfway through the game I think and I'm just getting my ass kicked. So do I just suck or am I doing something wrong?
I definitely played the whole game solo. Maybe try grinding your characters/weapons some if you're having trouble? I don't remember having any, and I definitely did everything solo.

Mortal Kombat for $5 sounds like a deal to me eventhough I own it on disc, but that game is good enough to be on the hard drive for random bursts whenever.

I'm not getting how to play online in Armored Core. I downloaded the compatibility pack but it still goes to offline mode when I start up.
you go online and get murdered immediately by some one in Japan whom has been playing the game since its release. That's how you play Armored Core online.

Never played the original Condemned. I know it'll go on the backlog, thinking I'll play it in October for "Horror Month", forget or run out of time, then remind myself to do it for next year. Rinse. Repeat.

At this point, I guess I'll have to consider Viking before I go to bed tonight. An easy 1k for a not terrible game is tempting, especially being in GTASC right now.

Sweet! Payday, MK (until I get the Komplete Edition on Disc), Viking and Walking Dead. Now I need another $50 MS code.

I'm loving this sale and can't wait to see what the last couple of days bring.

Sonic Generations $7.49
This is actually a great game. I'd say it's the best Sonic game since Sonic 3 back on the Genesis. I might rebuy it for this price, just to have it in the collection. Other than that, nothing for me. MK is tempting, but if I'm playing a fighting game these days, it's Killer Instinct.

I know you're joking but that's just not possible because all the servers are segregated by territories: one for North America, another for Europe, and a third for Japan (and maybe Asia). And the game has a heavy focus on co-op and team-based missions, so it's not like you'll be overwhelmed. The game is fairly difficult, though.

Hmm... I might pick up The Cave. Now, I wonder if I should just keep the sealed copy of Payday 2 I have right now, or return it for the 20 dollars I payed for it and get the digital download?

Also, should I get MK for five bucks and wait for a sale on the Season Pass, or just get the Komplete Edition? In the KE, are the DLC characters on the disc or through a voucher?

HDD space is getting really limited and this sale is not helping. Down to a little over 30 GB now.

I think there was another Sonic game for 360 that wasn't bad, but you are certainly right about Generations. It is easily the best one on 360. It also might be the only reason I'm still excited about the next game with all the goofy looking characters.

Blah, I already have these games lol. Well, I don't have Payday 2 but I rented it for a week and played the hell out of it.

Honestly, I don't even know what games I would want lol. Maybe something like Hitman HD pack, Nighty Nine Nights II, Saints Row 2?

As Agent York would say...."what do you think Zach?"

Hah, same here. I got my back in high school during the mid 90s and still use it for my XBL account. I don't use it for much else anymore since it's my first name|middle initial|last [email protected]. Too personal to use it for most things online anymore.

I had @msn.com for the past 11 years or so.
I've had @hotmail since.. 2004? So I'm right around where you are.

Well fucking done. You have all my e-respect.

Condemned is great. It's a very good game for October. As for Viking, you can get it cheaper at GS used, and there's no multiplayer so having the double license is meaningless. If you're worried about availability though, I'd say it's worth the $3.75.

I was going to disagree with you because I thought you said "it's the only good Sonic game since 3", but you said best and well.. I agree.

I'm kind of excited for Boom for Wii U/3DS because ex-Naughty Dog devs. Hoping it'll either be a good Sonic Adventure game or a good Jak 4.

Today's sales are pretty good (even if I own pretty much all of them). Cave is a good price (hasn't been cheaper on PC, surprisingly) for a good Gilbert game. Condemned is a good $5 game. State and Decay & Payday 2 are worth $10, easy (about time the heist game with the dead MP got a good sale). Sonic Generations is a great price, and a great game. Fallout 3 for $5 is a good deal.. just the millionth time it's been offered.

The odd one out is Ass Cream: Rev'It Up for $10. Definitely way too high. $5 would be more appropriate.

For those of you buying MK9, you can get the Komplete Edition (with the 4 DLC characters, including Freddy Krueger, and all the skins) for $10 physical, pretty easy. So whether or not this is worth it, is up to you.

The bonus to the digital version though is the double license, allowing you to be online on two Xboxes with one purchased copy. Since this game has local MP.. that may not be worth it to you, but for anyone who boosts achievements, it helps.

Payday 2 or state of decay have local multi?
Neither have local multi. PayDay 2 is solely online co-op (which is necessary because the AI bots are retarded), and State of Decay has no multi whatsoever. The dev team is working on a related project that might have MP though.

I'm pretty sure you can get Condemned cheaper at GS too. Highly recommend that game. Might only be .50 cents cheaper or so but at least you can save on HDD space/get .50 cents more selling it lmao.

It's the same price ($5), I just checked. You save 50 cents if you're PUR though, but then there's tax, so.. there you go.

Also, it's sold out online on GS. And so is Viking apparently, damn. Amazon has both used, but the prices are noticeably higher.

still waiting for the email I have from that community college semester back in 05 to get tossed out somehow. what a nightmare I would have to deal with.

MK is very tempting, but i think i can just skip it.
game is great, 5 bucks makes it better (although as with all fighters, better with Playstation)

It's the same price ($5), I just checked. You save 50 cents if you're PUR though, but then there's tax, so.. there you go.

Also, it's sold out online on GS. And so is Viking apparently, damn. Amazon has both used, but the prices are noticeably higher.
I guarantee that if you walk into any given gamestop, they will have them. F the Online site!

Condemned is pretty easy to find in store, I've bought it like 3 or 4 times lol. The moneys basically a wash, your right, but at least it is good to know there are 2 options same price and either way if someone hasn't played it they should!

Really? None of my locals have had it when I've checked..

And fighters are better on PlayStation? Since when?

Another good days for sales ..... on games I already own.

Except for State of Decay. I'll wait for it to reach $7.50.

I'm not a big Sonic fan, but I loved Sonic Generations. I never liked how Sonic ran too fast and I wanted to explore the environments instead. I felt like I can do this in Generations, plus the camera works very well for 3-D levels.

If I had more hard drive space, I would buy MK again for 360.

I think he's talking about the d-pads.
Eh, the PS3 dpad is better, but the transforming 360 one is okay.

I play with a stick anyways, so I don't care. It's why EVO is switching to 360 this year. Everyone just uses sticks, and the "pros" say the 360 versions respond better.
