Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

So I started playing Condemned Criminal Origins today...so far it's pretty crappy. Whatever potential the game has is pretty much ruined by the beyond clunky controls. I would stop playing if it wasn't such a short game. I'm probably about halfway through, may as well finish it and clear it out of the backlog.

Edit: Also, so far the story is beyond retarded. Your character is "framed" for a murder when a criminal kills the two cops you're with. The FBI assumes you did it, because they were killed by your gun, and there's just NO WAY a criminal could EVER get your gun from you, so you MUST have done it.

Also, apparently DNA/fingerprint testing isn't a thing in this game, which would clearly show your character's innocent.

I'm hoping there's a lot more to it than what's been shown so far.
I really liked this game - let's also keep in mind, I played it not too long after it was released on the PC; and at that time, there weren't much better games out there for a visceral-style of first-person melee combat. Put simply - back then, I thought it kicked butt b/c of its melee combat.

About your complaints about story w/ assuming your guilty and getting technical - fair enough, hehe. :D

I think most action-games have ridiculous and preposterous stories, anyways.

I still wish Condemned 2 got a PC port, though...

It's one thing for a story to be ridiculous or over the top, it's another for the whole basis of the game to be ludicrously dumb.

Right in the beginning when whoever this guy is who you're working with (the "family friend") is talking to you and you're like "oh i'll just tell the truth" and he goes "like they would believe you" or something like that.

What's more likely in a police investigation into a serial killer...that cops get killed by a known killer, or that the third cop randomly snaps and murders both of them and runs away?

Not to mention, once an investigation is done, the guy would be proven innocent, anyway. It's just really stupid.

We need a wiki to keep track of all the games MysterD wishes had a PC port.

You deserve a swift kick in your foxhole if you're even considering that hot mess at those prices.
I really want Rambo for the shits and grins but I don't $15 want it and I sure as hell don't $40 want it. I'm not even sure that I $5 want it.

I think it's ludicrous for someone to believe that the police/justice system is on your side.

It'll leave this no-so-amusing bit from this week here.

http://www.theguardian.com/film/2014/feb/17/fan-jailed-video-jennifer-lopez-monster-in-law

"I went to the police station to press charges of harassment and stalking"

She got arrested for failure to return a video tape rental from 9 years ago.

The justice system is usually on the side of the justice system...which the main character in the game is a part of.

Well, I just finished Luxuria Superbia.  I'm not sure if I was more embarrassed while playing it or more embarrassed now that I admit I finished the whole "game."  I kinda get what the creator was trying to aim for, though it didn't stop me from turning the game off when my wife entered the room.  I guess this is some gamey metaphor for "making love"... but about halfway through the game I got really bored of it but I wanted to complete it to knock it off my list, so I muted my PC and just listened to podcasts and ate cereal while completing the game by randomly clicking things.

What is that a metaphor for?  ...I'm scared to ask.

Who wants to test a key for Bloody Trapland? Must like brutal platformers. Also, who wants Ship Simulator Extreme? Must like ships, simulators, and extreme... things.

Been playing Orion: Dino Horde. Is... meh. But is still very broken. I was in a lobby recently and it just crashed and some graphics and animations are awful. Still couldn'y play a MP match because it keeps kicking me or crashing

Tried the game Solo... and there are certain things that I don't like.

1) In the server selection, I can't see the ping with that server, the column is there, but shows anything but the ping.

2) The generator is really far away from your base, and that's the first thing Dinosaurs attack. So, you'll be generally near your generator fighting Dinos, and after the wave ends you have to literally fly to your base if you want to buy a weapon or augmentation if you want to be near the generator in time before the next wave. Also, weapons and augmentations "bases" are not close to each other, so you'll have to choose one or the other after every wave

Maybe I'm playing it wrong, but I can't see the fun.

I really liked Gear of War 1, despite its technical problems on the PC (back when I played it - namely framerate and stutter issues).

So, yes - I do want the rest here.

EDIT:

I'd rather play those games w/ KB-mouse, anyways.

It's pretty late for this (sale ends in 5 or so minutes) but wanted to say I just played the first two missions for Hawx and am having a blast so far!

I haven't played an arcade aerial combat game since Ace Combat 2 on PS1 so I can't compare it to anything more recent, but Hawx is basically exactly what I want in this sort of game; effortless controls*, the ability to pull of ridiculous maneuvers, and a really satisfying feeling when I blow enemies up. There's a neat leveling system where you earn XP for completing missions, special objectives, and killing enemies which unlocks more planes and weapons to outfit them with. I like the sense of progression it creates, and also that it extends to every mode in the game (not that I plan to play MP, but there is a co-op campaign mode which I know some might be interested in).

It still looks, sounds, and runs really good for how old it is (but as is always the case don't go too close to the ground or things start to get ugly), looks to have a good deal of content, and is just a lot of fun to play. There's some typical Tom Clancy story which is entirely impossible for me to follow (something about secret military operations, rogue PMCs, yadha yahda), but otherwise I've been very impressed and would recommend you pick it up if you've been itching for an arcade flight game (don't expect even a sliver of realism, it's not here), you could do a lot worse for $2.49.

*EDIT: forgot to mention my only real complaint so far; getting a 360 controller to work is a tad finicky. The game supports it just fine, but none of the button prompts will show up as 360 controls, so you'll have to either fool around with them until you learn what everything does, or remap them to your liking (which was what I did) if you want to play using a controller. There are of course keyboard controls (and I would assume it supports flight sticks) but I haven't tried those yet so I can't comment on how good they feel.
I hate you for making me regret not picking this up. Well, I guess I'll get it during the Summer Sale if it doesn't see cheaper before then.

My four in February:

1. Marvel Puzzle Quest
2. Marvel Puzzle Quest
3. Marvel Puzzle Quest
4. Guacamelee (well, most of it, anyway)

This is in no way an endorsement of Marvel Puzzle Quest. I have a problem.
i tried marvel puzzle quest once and couldn't get into it
Consider yourself lucky. It's not a bad game, but I don't like these games that tap into my obsessive tendencies and take over my life. And this one has no end...

Hey everybody, I just ordered an internet upgrade from around 4.5Mbits to 25Mbits. First time in my life that I'll have a download speed over 600KB/s.

And not only that, it costs less than half what I'm paying now. Downloading entire games from Steam in a fraction of the time... This is the future.

So bored, I've been scrolling my Steam library for hours. I need something I can knock out in a few days before the hot mess train wreck called Thief is out.

If you somehow haven't played Tomb Raider yet, it is on sale for $5 at Gamestop and could easily be knocked out in a few days.

Apparently Hero Siege DRM free is being discontinued and removed from places where it was available.

Indie Game Stand has taken the DRM free version down based on the developers request and everyone who got in on that deal, even if they paid under $1, now should have Steam keys there.
I found that I still had the Game Wallet screen open, so I downloaded the Windows installer and ran it. It worked fine, but there's a message at the end of the install process indicating that he's using the trial version of the packager program (Clickteam Install Creator Pro) and isn't allowed to distribute anything made with it. "This screen does not appear in install programs created with a registered version." I'd be embarrassed to make this available for purchase. It makes me feel dirty that I'm starting to agree that the best thing to do is remove the DRM-free version and pretend it never happened. >.<

You should at least take some comfort that you are not alone in this addiction; a lot of people in the android thread have been talking strategy (if that interests you at all).

Starts about here, interspersed with random deal talk: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/320964-android-deals-thread-v2-fist-of-awesome-099-the-room-099-toast-time-099/page-14#entry11527076

Hopefully this means it'll come back. But it probably won't.

I'm apparently pretty close to beating Dust: An Elysian Tale already... wow.
I don't remember it being terribly short. But then I probably spent a lot of time being lost while trying to get all of the secrets.

For MP, sure - I could go for that.

I really don't want ANY PC games supporting G4WL anymore PERIOD.

EDIT:

Did you check some of your owned games and see how short/long they might be according to HLTB?

Guess I'll give Enslaved a try. Pretty sure I read the port is a mess but it looks relatively quick for the time I have. Thanks for the reminder about HLTB.
