This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Augh, I just got Burnout Paradise from Leaptrade last week and I missed the free awesome-cars pack DLC by about 6 hours!

Now I have to wait for Christopher Lloyd to die in order to get me some cheap cars... #notaste #notatwitteruser

Of course knowing MS, when that happens they'll make Crazy Taxi XBLA free for 2 hours instead...
First CAG post to ever make me lament the lack of a downvote. Well played.

In lieu of Doc Brown (or $5), we will also accept David Hasselhoff, John Schneider, or (and I didn't want to have to go there but you forced my hand) Michael J. Fox.

Almost tempted to get those Kinect games, despite the fact I already own the 2 Kinect Sports games, for the sake of achievements. Still too expensive to buy them all, though.

By the way there was plenty of Black Ops 2 talk in here due to the deals, and interestingly enough on the 4th of March they'll release 4 new skin packs, along with a free one everyone just received if they were using Elite for a long time (it's going to get shut down). That is rather peculiar because no COD ever saw any kind of support (bar a patch here and there) after the next one came out, and while this is only a couple skins, not new maps, weapons, game modes or anything, it's still rather interesting and, probably, points out how Black Ops 2 is set to stay.

i play black ops 2 multiplayer multiple times a week

i could never get into the other cod games but i love this one, i think the maps are very well balanced and cool to look at

i always thought the maps in other cod games were bland looking and too camper friendly, i couldn't play ghosts for more than a half hour

I'm assuming with your name you're a huge Strider fan. Can you elaborate on why it's so bad? It seems to be getting rave reviews from all over. In fact yours is the first negative criticism I've heard about the game. I haven't played it myself but I'd honestly be very interested in knowing why you thought it was so terrible.
I'm just utterly bored with it. It moves too slow given how big the stages are. They are large and filled with dull and dreary backgrounds and enemies that pose no real threat (and even if they did, health icons are everywhere). It's too easy, even on Hard, and given how the game is aping the 'metroidvania' style, it's very linear with not much room for exploration.

The sound quality isn't very good either. Not the actual music (which is cool, love the oldschool remixes) just the quality. It's so low and I have to turn my tv up alot for this game. I feel so detached from the action when I'm swinging Strider's cipher around and can barely hear it's sound effects at times,

Also YMMV but I was at a Radioshack earlier tonight and picked up 2 32GB Sandisk USB sticks for $10 each. Might be worth looking into if anyone wants some cheap storage for their xbox games..

I've held off on buying Civ Rev many times cause I know it will be a huge time drain. It's been on sale for $10 or so but hey, it's still $10 I won't have to spend.

I already own and beat Civ Rev long time go. It's a fun game if you're into the Civilization genre. Was kinda hopin at least half the rumors were true about Batman AA since I have the GOTY and not the vanilla.

How do you "beat" a Civ game?

Civ Rev has odd number 3 and 9 achievements.

Do not want.

Are these avoidable? If not is it easy to get a set to make a 5 or 0?

I guess that completing the 1000GS. You have to conquer the world (?) with all 16 civilizations and beat all the difficulty levels to get that gamerscore.

The hardest achievement was getting all the Great Persons.  I have spent close to 15 hours and I am still missing one of the Bronze Age people.
The rest of the achievements arent too hard.

For those that like to keep their Gamerscore ending in 0 or 5, Civ Rev has 4 3 point and 2 9 point achievements. They all have high completion ratios on TrueAchievements, with 4 above 97%, one at 95% and one at 89%, so it presumably shouldn't be difficult to get back to a 0/5 ending.

Can anyone please tell me if any of the four Black Ops II map packs really stand out above the others?

not until you change that picture....jk

Honestly like many have said here, the season pass is def. worth it. Every map pack is great, but if I really had to the 2nd and 3rd map packs have the best zombie maps and the multiplayer maps are varied and look beautiful.

Play as the Greeks (they have a high rate of spawning Great People) on Golden Age or Alpha Centari. You should be getting a ton of great persons on one playthrough.

Season pass would be your best bet, they are all fun but if I had to pick one, I would say the 3rd one is (imo) the best one (more like the better one in a batch of good ones).

Anyone worried about the odd point achievements in Civ Rev, I have been playing for 45 mins and have them all unlocked with no guide

The odd point ones actually put my score back to ending with 5s and 0s. Although, it'll go back to wonky after I get them all. Pretty good game, reminds me of Empire Earth. One of the better ones that I've played for a freebie.

BTW, what's a good place to find Burnout Paradise? I thought it was a downpoint for the series but I did download that free DLC anyway, and would love to race through the streets as KITT or the A-Team van or whatever.

Been wondering this too. Funny how a little bit of free DLC makes you consider a game you might not have otherwise.

If they put up Burnout Paradise for the April free game, that would be pimp. Sad thing is, I clearly remember seeing it K-Mart for dirt cheap. Don't recall if it was a vanilla version, or one with DLC included though.

I got my copy from BB for $5. The dlc actually made me get back into the game and it's been in my ps3 since. By far my favorite racing game. Everything from the music in the game to the environments is top notch. I really hope a sequel gets announced at E3 for ps4/X1.

Yes, Burnout Paradise is great. I just wish they would have kept the crash mode in it. I got it on PC from a Humble Bundle a few months ago and really regret selling my copy for 360.

I've been looking for a cheap copy of Burnout Paradise for a while. It's still $17.99 used at GS. I've owned it 3 different times, but sold it for whatever reason. This is a game I definitely would rather have digital. I feel like this WILL be a free game with gold eventually for some reason. Maybe just wishful thinking :)

I feel like Garden Warfare isn't getting the attention it deserves because of Titanfall coming out so soon. I have it on X1 and love it. The plants feel a little bit too strong for defending. Out of 20-25 rounds, zombies only won once. I hope they add game modes where zombies get a chance to defend.

But . . . but . . . Showtime. I actually prefer Showtime to Crash mode and Crash mode just isn't a viable option in an open world game. I was one of the few people who didn't much like Crash mode from the previous Burnout titles as I dislike waiting 30 seconds for loading screens for what is essentially a 20 second experience. If you were looking for Crash mode then Burnout Crash! is likely a good option. I haven't played it but I've heard good things as long as you forget that it's a Kinect-enabled title and stick to a controller (up yours David Hasselhoff). But that title screams GwG potentiality and I'm more than sure it'll be free by the time this calendar year is up.

Random info drop. But yeah. PvZ is awesome. But Ghats EAs fault for dropping it 2 weeks before Titanfall.

More modes is welcome. As well as more maps and character classes.

Seconded. I think that plants are in general a higher level thanks to horde mode, so a horde mode for zombies a la Beast mode on GoW would help balance it. Luckily (or unluckily depending on how one views it) I'm still on my 360, so I have an extra two weeks on top of that with an alive player base before everyone jumps ship. Hopefully free/cheap DLC down the line as a result.

I just got through a round of Civ Rev using Romans in single player, won by Domination. It's a pretty fun game, gotta say I never played a Civ game seriously before (only occasionally), and it's indeed easier, but it's still very long and repetitive after a while. When many units start filling the map, simply waiting for them to go to the places you set them to can take a lot of time, especially with roads. It is a well-done game overall but I don't see myself spending 2 hours like this on every single match (if not longer). Strategy fans should like this drop though.

Agreed. I've been playing it all weekend and it's a blast. I took advantage of the TRU deal and got a $10 GC with purchase and it was worth every penny. My buddy was saying it's a shame there's no single player but I told him he can go play the original game if he wants that lol.

I was reading an article about the game and they said they plan to support it like Mass Effect 3 was with free DLC and more maps/modes. ME3 MP stayed in constant rotation due to that post-launch support and I only stopped playing it when they stopped releasing content.

I've gotta say that the game's visuals and concept may be goofy but the gameplay is great. It reminds me of Team Fortress 2. Instead of being my usual medic I went outside my comfort zone and chose the Chomper (melee) and Engineer and am glad I did. I've gotten them to level 5 and enjoy the individual challenges for each class. I've started using the Cactus too. Basically I'm going in the reverse order than I normally do and trying the harder classes first. It's paying off.

Wow, Garden Warfare is multiplayer only? First Titanfall, now GW; can't believe so many of these X1 releases are multiplayer-only. Lame! I'm not into multiplayer games, prefer single player, and I loved the original PvZ (own it on almost every format). Makes me glad I skipped the X1, if this is a common thing.

Civ Rev has odd number 3 and 9 achievements.

Do not want.

Are these avoidable? If not is it easy to get a set to make a 5 or 0?
that might be the most ridiculous thing I've heard today. But it's early yet.

Civ Rev is fantastic. I even bought it for my iPad. I don't know how i feel about the buy-a-great person thing on os though. The xbox version is pure and you get more satisfaction out of nukin the shit out of a city.

Having now played the 360 Civ: Rev, it's MUCH better than the Nintendo DS version I've got and hated.  Controls make sense, and it's much more "compressed Civ" -- a game in maybe 1/10 of the normal time.  But it actually still *feels* like Civ.  My biggest gripe so far is I can't zoom out as far as I would like for an overview.

I'm absolutely aghast at how many of you have never played actual Civ before, BTW.  If you think Civ: Rev games take too long, all I can do is laugh at you.  Actual Civ games on PC drag on way, way longer (but are way more satisfying), even just single-player.  Though I guess for the Call of Duty crowd it probably seems like forever....

I personally never cared much for Civ because I'm not big on turn-based strategy games, and I always preferred RTS games like Age Of Empires, StarCraft, WarCraft, Command & Conquer and so on. Even in those games I enjoyed the matches that were 30-60 minutes at most, because after a while when big armies start getting built and giant empires are spread around the map, it takes way too much time to destroy it all, even when someone is somewhat dominating it's plenty of effort needed to run down everything. Now, Civ is extremely slower, and while Rev is A LOT faster than what little I played Civ on PC, it's still too long for my tastes, frankly. It has nothing to do with the "Call Of Duty crowd", it's simply a matter of tastes, and I'm normally not a fan of neverending games.

Its not just an X1 thing, broham. Within 5 years, even certain PS4 games are gonna be multiplayer only. That's the direction the industry as a whole is headed in. Its not just Titanfall; look at that new game Evolve. Granted, its looks incredible....but theres no single player option. And goddamit, I'm still gonna get it. (I don't think Destiny will have a campaign either, not sure though.)

I enjoy single player campaigns as much as you do, but there's only so long we can fight the future.

I agree its a disturbing trend. If that day comes, I'll just play my older SP games on consoles and PCs, and skip the multi stuff. Multiplayer games are generally short-lived, dependent on an active community and active servers. When those factors taper off, those games are dead. No thanks.

Just wondering did you expect a PvZ shooter game to have a story single player? Lol. What's the story going to be, started from a seed to saving the world from zombies. Anyway there's Garden Ops which you could play solo, which is essecially what PvZ mobile games are about, surviving waves of zombies.

Also these multiplayer only games could easily add some campaign later on. They just want to get online right. Dead Rising 3 could be played co-op but they added DLC which is single player.

Plants vs Zombies is pretty much single-player only with a joke story. All they needed was a Horde Mode with special rules on some rounds and a few bosses here and there. It's just EA being lazy again.
