This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

One of the dozens of games I started and left off in the past several years.

Speaking of backlog, I beat Alan Wake today. The DLC is apparently "corrupted", so I don't know when I'm ever getting around to that.
Hah, that reminds me I haven't redeemed the code for the DLC that's sitting in my non-used Limited Edition. I should get in on that.

While you're at it, make sure to download "The Writer" as well (screw waiting for a sale). You will not be disappointed.

Looks like in the very least that the Japanese marketplace will be receiving a 65% price drop on the GoD version of Lollipop Chainsaw from April 1st through to the 30th to celebrate it selling 1,000,000 copies. Hopefully that comes to the rest of the world as well as I'd love to grab the game for that price. Fingers crossed.

Also, does anyone want a Windows/XBone Project Spark beta code? I got sent one but I'm a Mac/360 user so it doesn't do me any good. Just send me a private message if you do want it

Alan Wake was one of my very favorite 360 games....do it do it do it. Yes it's linear and not open world, but it showed me tunnel games can rock if the story rocks, and the Wake story rocks. More Cow Bell developers.....give us Wake 2 for next Gen like now.

I know, I just don't want to start Alan Wake and then get sidetracked by another game that just came out, happens so many times. I was holding off til this summer but then Watch Dogs got a May release date so hmm Titanfall is right around the corner, maybe I should get AW started.

Anybody have problems with Rock Bank Blitz having song dates wrong? There is an achievement for playing a song from every decade starting at 1950s. I buy a song that says 1956 in store then go to play it and the date changes to 1987. Looking up the song online, it is from 1950s. Cheese and crackers
I remember someone tweeting them about it this past summer. It's something to do with remastering, or a new recording date. Anyhow, basically you need a Johnny Cash song for the '50s.

Lol, you're not gonna believe this, the game disc part is not in my Collector's Edition. I must have left it at my folks place back in NY. ><

I am enjoying Project Spark more than I should be. Working on 2 games and am stuck with both of them. In one of them, you play as a ghost that flies around killing people. I have big plans for that one that will probably never happen. The other is just a basic fps sword slashing goblin murder game.

I've only played about 10 creations from other people so far and they have been enjoyable. I'm making videos of my favorite ones. I'll share the 2 best I've played so far.

Feel free to watch the whole videos, but the two best I've played so far start at 1:20 (LOTR) for the first video and 0:42 (Zelda) for the second video.

Fun Fact - The Zelda level crashes within a few minutes of playing it. Took me about 7 tries to finally get a video out of it.

I found it! Lol, buried in my video game boxes, I had the insight before to take just the game disc case so that's why it was missing from the LE which I later grabbed on my last visit home. Add-on was The Signal but I'll keep the Writer in mind. I have the book, I figured I'd read that afterwards as to not spoil anything. Rev3Games have been streaming Alan Wake for a few weeks now but I didn't want to watch it/wanted to play it.

Awesomeness contained in spoiler is just used to cut down on size lol

So I know some here have claimed Dead Space 2 was not scary after I talked about finishing DS1.  I must be a wuss because this shit is scary to me. Those little kid necros are giving me nightmares.  I have seriously considered not wearing my headphones but the sound is just too good in this game.  This is when I love having a backlog though.

I'm starting to feel guilty to go so many days without coming to this post but this deals week are so "cold". And after asking which one should I play first from Mirror's Edge, Spec Ops The Line and Alan Wake I ended up finishing Mirror's Edge twice (terrible story but normal without guns and Hard shooting my way out of hard situations was quite an experience and hyped me a lot for Mirror's Edge 2 - one of the few times I actually believe a game can benefit from an open world experience) and Spec Ops the Line (A mix of a mindfuck with cliche and a not-so-enjoyable but remarkable storyline was really nice).

I started Alan Wake but my girlfriend really enjoyed episode 1, so I'm only playing it when she's around which, coupled with college exams, may take some time to finish but nevertheless I can see where all the praise came and I'm starting to, even though I haven't bought it, pity myself for siding with PS4 this gen and missing out on Quantum Break.

Anyway, just found out that apart from Shadow Complex, Braid, Half Minute Hero, Super Meat Boy and Trine 2 I still don't have Costume Quest and Outland.

Any chance those two may come up in any celebratory sale or something like that?

And for last, gonna do it again as I currently have no clue. Even though they from completely different genres, which one do you suggest I play first? Dark Souls, Borderlands, Dead Space 1, Vanquish, Sleeping Dogs or Dishonored...

I'd go for Dead Space 1, since it's good and pretty short (don't get me wrong, all of them are good, but well, I'd go for DS1 first, that's all).

I agree with E. Nich, either that or Vanquish which is a relatively short game itself. Borderlands is good too but its going to take awhile (especially if you have the DLC/plan on getting it).

I'd vote for Dead Space or Dishonored. Couldn't get into Vanquish and haven't played Dark Souls or Sleeping Dogs. Borderlands is great, but I wouldn't say it was as memorable an experience as DS1 or Dishonored (at least for me).

Dead Space, Vanquish, and Dishonoured are fairly short(though replayable), as is Sleeping Dogs if you don't go out of your way for side quests/collectibles.

Dark Souls, well...I'm about to finish new game+ and I still just want to play more. I've put over 80 hours in, and that's not counting my other characters. So it's not a game you bust out. There's definitely a wall, but once you get into it, it's so absorbing.

This article might help if you have trouble:

No spoilers(except for the first few bosses), just don't read the comments.

Borderlands is straight-up a timesink.

Dead Space, Dishonored, Sleeping Dogs, Borderlands, Vanquish and then finally Dark Souls is the order I'd play them in. I put Dark Souls last because that game will probably make you rage quit off video games forever.

Is it wrong if i am eager to find games and buy them just to never play them ? I just want some cheap games before it's monday night and be dissapointed all over again. At this momment i accept suggestions, indie games... anything relatively cheap.

Funny, today I just sent a friend of mine a link to Alan Wake digital copies on ebay. You can get them for under $5. Cant' beat that for such a good game.
I have bought Alan Wake three times (standard, CE, and PC CE from Humble Bundle) and still consider buying the digital version for 360.

Lmao that is me right there. I was looking up tron and Clash of the titans on ebay. Anything to feed the backlog. I keep refreshing XBLDB only to see Rockband and Lips DLC price drops.
I really hope something good goes on sale, anything that I would even consider at this point would be good.

Vanquish is freaking great! It's like a bullet-hell shooter in 3D, with ridiculous amounts of action and an enjoyably cheesy story. Also it's really short and is so fast paced it's easy to blow through it in just a few sittings. One of the best surprises I had last gen by far, highly recommend checking it out!

If there are more interesting on-topic things to discuss here, then they'll get brought up and take over whatever else is talked about in here. Bring something up yourself if you want, but complaining does nothing to "help." It's not preventing anybody from discussing any of the games that are on sale or other related items, so I don't really see the problem. I'd rather have that than a thread with no posts until somebody wants to talk about an item in the OP.
I respectfully disagree. I subscribe to specific threads because of their advertised content. Personally, I would rather see no updates than scroll through a page or two that don't talk about deals at all. Sure there might be some interesting info in those two pages, but that is subjective.

The advertised content is in the OP. Nothing discussed back here keeps you from that.

It's a simple system on this here thread....all deals are on the first page. Every Monday we all meet here for date night and see who catches xbldb's updates first. If they rock we moan about our growing backlogs and if they suck we go off topic. Rinse, Repeat, Rinse, Repeat..... Occasionally we need to readdress how to purchase with points because lurkers seem to miss that part in the OP. So to sum up, all of the off topic conversation is actually part of the normal conversation for this particular thread and perhaps that is why this thread is one of the most popular........you know what you're getting here.

DS 2 definitely has scary moments. Its just that DS 1 felt like one man on his own trapped in space with hideous monsters. DS 2 gave Isaac a voice and introduced Ellie, who was with you most of the way, plus the gameplay took on a more action-y style as opposed to the mechanical, weighty movements of part 1.

Both are 100% classic though, just for different reasons.

Hard To The Core is BY FAR my most prized achievement too, BTW. I felt like the greatest gamer on Earth when it popped.

I don't mind a little discussion of the current on-sale or speculated titles but some of the other stuff in this thread simply doesn't belong in here. Take it to the off-topic areas, PMs, or something.
