I'll add you, it's the easier way to get all the fruits. My FC is down below.

My town is open, nothing going on. I have cut down 100+ trees and no special stumps. How do I get more? I had more with my regular axes than my golden one. I have all the plants in the front of my rooms because I know that gives me luck.

I also bough 1300 turnips, so I need a place to sell them if anyone has a decent price. If not I'm done with them. :lol:

The silver axe guarantees a special stump. There's just a chance of getting one with a regular or golden axe, and I don't think feng shui or fortune luck will change that. Silver axes will wear down and break, but only the final swing needs to be done with it to get the special stump, so you can do the first couple swings with a golden axe to preserve silver ones longer. They're a rare occurrence on the island, but only cost 8 medals, so while finding them is tough, stocking up on them when you find them for sale isn't.

That seems pretty damn stupid. Gold > Silver :lol:

I think the luck does play into it because one day I got 2 but both were where I had plans for things, so I still have one, I just want more / better spot.

Definitely. I think it would be fun to get a group of us to earn some medals one night. I've only ever gone to the island with my sisters...but more cause we Skype and it's easier to play the games that way.

Whaaaa...? Silver axes guarantee special stumps! Omg.. I've been planting and replanting trees all month to get more special stumps. I use a golden axe. My best day was on my birthday...might be a lucky day cause I got two that day.
 
Soo.. I have 321 for turnips. Not too shabby. I'm going to open up for a couple hours in just a few. I didn't buy any this week...so tips are appreciated.

That's what I'm saying! I have cut and replanted a section of my town 3 times now and didn't get a one. I only have gotten 3-4 the whole time I played, but all but 1 were in the way.

I left you a tip near the train station.

Thank you!  I had 1300 this week, so I made like 300,000.

I have never seen a silver ax, but I also don't go to the island that much anymore, but never seen one.  I don't like playing the mini games so I only have like 20-25 coins after buying a bathing suit.

 
No you can only get them from from the island... for some stupid reason.  I remember reading it.

Ah I was thinking of the silver shovel. Just looked up everything...guess I'm going to have get me a silver axe. Never bothered before.

I'm also going to only stay open for another 20 min for 321 turnips. I can open again tomorrow before I head to work at 5pm.

I'm going to open up in a few min. I'll be open till 4:30est..since that's a couple hours I might be away some of the time. Sorry my retail is in the far left corner :/ Road passed the bamboo will be the fastest.
 
Haven't seen one of those before. I think that might be my next project...going to the island more often. I'm pretty sure last I checked I was around 300 medals but I've never bought any of the furniture. Just bushes n stuff...

Those treasure chests are expensive. I got one for me and another for a friend a long while back and it took forever to get the medals for it. And since I was on Club Tortimer at the time, I kept hoping it didn't Resetti me while I was there. The good thing is, they're not Club Tortimer exclusives, but might take some time to show up on your own island.

 
Explicit, thanks for jumping online last night so I could get those two Pave items. I very much appreciated it.

I'm only missing the Pave lamp. Does anyone still have a spare a week and a half later?

What I found is that the Easy Scavenger Hunt is your best bet for Quick Medals. 9 for a Gold, only takes about 2-3 minutes each time. Unfortunately I didn't have that today, so I had to do the Item Matching one, which sucks.

Can anyone give me tips on finding a Scarab Beetle at night on the Island? I know they spawn there.

Elite scavenger is my favorite, but that wasn't available at Club Tortimer that day, but some other tours that take a lot longer. I have over 1000 medals just from scavenger games now and not really anything I want to spend them on since I'm just doing it for the gold badge.

Do you have trees other than palm trees on your island? That's where they appear. I know some people like to clear out the middle area of their islands so they only get the high value beetles on palm trees, so if you chopped those other trees down, you'll have to replant them to get scarab beetles to appear.

I re-grew 4 a while ago since I stopped Beetle farming. I guess I'll grow a few more.

 
I don't think flowers breed on the island. They also don't need watering either, but there's no way to bring hybrids over from your town since you can only fill the box from the island.

IIRC, the tours change at midnight rather than 6am when the town starts a new day, but you might have to return to your town to get them to change.

That's a good idea - I didn't even think of that! So if you want to take more than two flowers at a time, you'd have to bring other people with you. Otherwise, it'd take a lot of trips to the island and back if you want to bring a lot of flowers over.

Interestingly the other day I played at 4am and the day already changed over to the new day, and it wasn't DST days.

And turnips are 17x today, so I'm open for a bit.

Explicit, I'm opening my gate now. When you come out of the station just go right to get to Tia's house. But please don't run since I have flowers in random places throughout my town.

 
Finally got to see the inside of Marshal's house. It looks like he has 5 pieces of sloppy furniture! (bed, table, stereo, sofa and chair) Maybe he will give some of it to me since I've never even seen one piece in the lost & found.

People are welcome in my town anytime now that I feel like it has Gardens and such. Thanks for the tip! Did you a 20% increase? I have that going but never know if it works for out of town-ers.

Dont think my Marshal ever gave me any sloppy pieces. He moved out today. Traded him for Whitney over on Gfaqs.

Does anyone know if you can have 2 villagers pending to move in at the same time? I have Whitney moving in now thanks to the trade, but before that I had Lolly convinced to move into my town. She still hasn't shown up, and I'm not sure if getting Whitney cancels out Lolly's move or not.

Sometimes it takes a couple days for them to pick a spot and move in. That might be what's happening to you. You could always time warp a day or two into the future and you will see them move in as well as freeing up the space you're old resident lived at.
 
Thats what I've been doing to get hybrids to my island...wearing flowers.  Takes forever...I think I have a good 20 by just taking them over everytime I made a trip.  But I like that they'll never wilt over there as well.

Glad she found a new home. I've had villagers move in right on top of my hybrids and even one on my fruit orchard that killed my only pear tree. Sometimes the game is just downright mean.

And I never noticed before, but after I closed the gate I could no longer enter Tia's house. When I tried the door it said "moved out". Which doesn't really seem necessary, unless you can still convince an animal to stay when they already have packed up boxes. Is the game trying to prevent you from doing that??

Doesn't having flowers on the island interfere with beetle farming? Those little roaches bug me enough, I can't imagine having to chase off the butterflies.

I always take it as they took off to visit Tom Nook and arrange moving details with him lol
