GGT 311 Was Downgraded Without Explanation

Played some more Infamous 2 last night.  I really dig it--kind of a mix of Crackdown and Assassin's Creed 2 gameplay wise.  But I probably like it more than either.  Really pretty stoked for Second Son now, though I have some other stuff to get through so I'll try to wait for a $40ish sale on it.

Also played a little Spelunky and got to level 3-3 (3-1 was furthest prior).  Still need to get a shotgun to end of 2-4 to unlock the shortcut so I can get more practice in the ice caves.

Lastly, decided to sell the Wii U.  Just nothing coming out I really want to play on it--was a bad impulse/nostalgia purchase.  Meeting a guy from Craigslist at McDonalds later--driving 90 minutes as his kids really want it.  Ended up selling for around $100 less than I paid for everything--not terrible and mostly worth it to play the few games I did enjoy on it.

I'm sure the Wii U Zelda will be awesome, and the bastards will probably announce a new Metroid any day now.  But I'm drowing in games on PS3, PS4 and Vita so I just couldn't justify keeping it around.  I still have my 3DS for a Nintendo fix anyway--assuming they announce some games I care about for it going forward.

The backlog is finally getting in order as most of my bought games are beaten--the rest of the stuff is just PS+ stuff, a lot of it I probably won't bother with on PS3 before ditching it.  Though I have to keep it until the Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us seasons are done.  Then I'm passing it on to a friend who really wants to play Last of Us and some other PS3 exclusives.

So I'll chip away at some more PS3 stuff, Vita on the side, and mainly focus on mostly keeping up with PS4 must plays so I don't end up with a big backlog at any point in this new generation.

 
omg Wii U has a bunch of great games: DK Tropical Freeze, Super Mario World 3D, Super Luigi, Monster Hunter, Sonic Lost Worlds, Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101...plus more cool stuff coming soon: X, BAYONETTA 2, Mario Kart U, and on and on.  There's the eShop for more old school and indie games too.  My kids really enjoy it.

I've really been enjoying the lineup as well. There's more games that are out that you left off your list that I really like as well: Nintendoland, Lego City Undercover, ZombiU, Wind Waker HD, NSMBU, Game & Wario. I realize that lineup isn't what everyone wants, but for me it's been great.

 
Yeah, it was just a dumb purchase for me as I just care about very few of those games.  I was really hyped for Mario 3D World, and wanted to play NSMBU as well, and just impulse bought one after deciding to cancel my PS4 preorder.  In hindsight, I should have just kept that preorder.

I did like those two games, but also realized that I'm just not into platformers that much anymore as I didn't finish the extra levels in either as those were too hard for me--same with the Luigi DLC.  So that ruled out DKC:TV.  And I'm just damn burnt out on Mario after those games, 3D Land on 3DS and Galaxy 1 and 2 and NSMB DS last gen.  They need to give that series a break.

Stuff like Pikmin, Lego City etc. just aren't genres I enjoy.  And the stuff like Bayonetta, Wonderful 101 are just niche/hardcore action games and I despise that genre. Mario Kart I just played MK7 on 3DS and got tired of that very quickly, and I never cared for Smash Bros since I don't like fighting games at all.

Really all Nintendo has that I still enjoy are Zelda (which is also getting stale) and Metroid which has been abandoned for quite a while other than the lackluster Other M.  I grew up on Nintendo, but after 25+ years of playing their games, they just don't do much for me any more.  I get much more enjoyment out of things like Infamous, The Last of Us, Gears of War, Skyrim, Uncharted etc. these days.   So the Wii U was just a dumb purchase.  But I didn't end up losing too much on it thankfully, and between that sale and my Amex reward check I more than covered my PS4 purchase with no direct/immediate out of pocket cost which is nice. 

And I still have the 3DS for when I get a Nintendo itch, and I'd guess that will get more games since it's sold fairly well while the Wii is a complete bomb sales wise.  But I'd guess this will be my last Nintendo purchase unless they really turn things around with their next outing--i.e. some portable/console hybrid with much better game support.  I'm not holding my breath on any of that though, given they seem more interested in the quality of life stuff.

Yeah, I can't imagine the 360 version isn't ready.

Probably just delaying in hopes of pushing more fencesitters to just go buy an X1 bundle.

 
So I bought an eShop card with some left over GS credit and don't have a single thing I really want to buy beside one Streetpass game. Any recommendations? Any of you play Harmoknight?

That was my thought on 3DS and a Nintendo "fix"... but mine collects dust. :rofl:
It was probably worth it to play the newest Zelda game though.

Agree with both of these for me, like all of the listed games appeal to me, I basically own every one of them haha. But yeah the new Zelda and even Hyrule Warriors are games that I reallllllllly want to play.

That's the game by the Pokemon team right? It was pretty neat, has some Pokemon music even!

Those Denpa Men games are pretty cool as well. Or Chibi Robo

3DS I've been pretty happy with. I'm out of stuff I really want to play on it currently, but with SM3DL, Animal Crossing, Pokemon Y, Fire Emblem, Zelda OoT 3D, Zelda ALBW, Mario Kart 7 etc. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of it. And I figure it will get more good games going forward given it's sold a ton more than the Wii U.
