This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Is this the cheapest Limbo has ever been? I want it, but $9.99 still feels like a lot...

How low can you go?
I chuckled. It's definitely been at least $7.50 in the past. I'd say it hitting $5 is pretty likely.

I got it from that XBLA Triple Pack (Trials HD, Splosion Man, Limbo) they did a while back when it was $10 at Best Buy. If you don't have any of those, I recommend picking it up instead.

Last limbo sale was 7.50 during the Christmas sale. I really wish they would do more sales like that since I have credit that is going to expire due to the dumb conversion they did last year.... I am debating on getting spartan assault, anyone recommend it? I am a big fan of Halo Wars so if it's anything like that I am in.

It's a dual-stick shooter that was sort of designed for mobile before console/PC stuff came into the equation.

The only similarity between the 2 is the look. One is a RTS and the other is a shooter. If you were to list all the Halo games, this would be the worst one. But if you're a Halo fan, it's worth the price.

I finally got around to uploading a bunch of X1 videos that I've had saved for about a month. One of the games I am most looking forward to this year (if it gets finished this year) is Colour. It is being made in Project Spark and is really unique for a Project Spark game or any game. I'm not even sure if it is being made into a "full" game or if this version is the last that it will be updated (just a small sample). There are a lot of good Project Spark games, but this one is the first, that I played, that changed how I think about Project Spark games. I originally thought they would all have the same look with different gameplay mechanics.

Glad I gave Island of Wakfu one more chance.  I'm starting to get the hang of it, and understand how to do things (there are way too many made-up words when the game is explaining things).  The game looks great and plays alright.  Kind of challenging too, I'm stuck on a boss in level 8.

I have no idea what I just watched, but it was pretty cool. They're shaping that into a game?

Is anyone going to PAX East next week? I'm going there then heading to New York afterwards. It'll be my first time in NYC. If any locals can give me some food or entertainment ideas I'd greatly appreciate it. My buddy and I have most of it planned and now have a free day since something didn't pan out. Please send me a PM so we don't take over the thread.

I don't think they are, but I hope they are or somebody is. I have no idea how they did. Project Spark (full version) is meow my most anticipated game of 2014. Even though most of the "how the bowls was this made in Project Spark!?!?!" games will probably take a few years to make (Skyrim sized RPGs).

Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but Saints Row 4 has dropped from $39.99 to $29.99. I've been keeping a close eye on it waiting for it to hit $20 or less so I can use my credit for it.
Mmmm, I just picked up Saints Row: The Third for $20 and Saints Row IV for $25 from Gamefly. Been holding out for a while and they were at my prices.

That complete edition of Saints Row IV for 30 bucks or so is what I've been looking forward to. From what I heard it's even shorter than SR3 (also easier), plus it really feels like a giant DLC rather than a new game, and the DLCs (while looking insanely fun) don't look meaty enough. 30$ (or even less if sales) seems to be the good price for the full package for me.

That's cause the game was actually an intended dlc for SR3.

I know it was, but it's still rather short, I hear of 15-20 hours or so for a 100% completion of the game, non-DLC, plus a couple more hours for the DLCs. I spent full price for SR3 and for the season pass as well, and while I've found the game to be hilariously fun and amazing, it took me less than 50 hours to beat the game 100%, do the same with the DLCs, start a new game to get the extra achievement for that "choice" you have to do early in the storyline, and do consider that I spent a lot of time just screwing around. Seeing that SR4 is probably like half as long and more of the same, I can't justify paying much for it. 30$ for the game and all DLCs sound nice to me.

Just giving a heads up for people playing Hitman Absolution from the GwG, looks like the damaged save bug is still present. I thought they patched it last december guess not. Last night I was trying to finish off my last two achievements 100 challenges and all evidence, doing a run through in fight night and bam screen just freezes when the initial screen loaded with that tearaway effect when you start a level. Well I thought nothing of it restarted the 360 and bam "saved file is damaged, a new save will overwrite...." fuck  :wall: :censored: :bs:  :hd: I never did a backup save because it was always working fine when I used the disc ver before GwG. I start using the digital ver to finish off achievements and this is what I get. :D/ So irritating clicking level select and you can only pick the first stage "prologue."  :wall: Hell to the fuck NO to doing all those challenges, disguises, evidence, playstyles, etc again. So please make backups of your save.

Just played Clash of Heroes Might and Magic and I am glad I didn't pay for it. It's just not my thing, especially not on a console.
I'm glad I didnt pay for it too, but for other reasons. I played it for the first time after getting it free, and really liked it. But I'm either really bad or the game is really hard. I got stuck not too far into the game and gave up. A lot of fun but damn the AI just cuts you zero slack AND I couldnt find any way to grind a bit to level up.

Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like this should be on a patch or something, huh?

Some of the early parts of each chapter might require finding the right near-level enemies to fight and not just taking on enemies that are way too high for you unless you have a great grasp of the battle system.

Clash of Heroes is one of my favorite digital games of this generation.

Aw, poo. I didn't have Live at the time. : /

I can wait it out, I've got quite the backlog right now.
I would definitely wait till Limbo was really cheap again. I bought it when it was $2.99 and beat it and got all the achievements except one in one day. The one I missed was "Complete the game in one sitting with five or less deaths" and that just sounded like an exercise in frustration. It was a decent game but I think even $2.99 was a little overpriced. I would have been really pissed if I had paid the original $14.99.

You didn't like Ghostbusters, the Warriors, Lord of the Rings: Two Towers, Blade Runner Chronicles of Riddick, Scott Pilgrim, Aladdin, the Lion King, Super Star Wars, Star Wars Trilogy, Die Hard Arcade, or Goldeneye?
Heck Yeah! I've had a decent history with movie-based games, it may be due to my low standards for games and my odd tastes so I don't have much bad to say about them. NES Batman! Scott Pilgrim! KOTOR! Riddick! X-Wing/Tie Fighter! Goldeneye! X-Men Origins: Wolverine! ... I even liked Everything or Nothing, The Bourne Conspiracy, and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis ... I keep finding praise for Spider-man 2, so one day I'll explore that game; along with getting Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands off my backlog. I enjoy many videogames based on other mediums and media like comics, books, music, card/board games, sports, toys, and animations as well; with all that I like, it makes my videogame backlog more and more insurmountable, so I know well to give games a chance to be good regardless of origin. In fact some of my favorite videogames are based upon some of these mediums, heck most of my examples here are on Microsoft platforms ^^. So I'll avoid my movie references this time posting, since I already did so on my special posting, to some dislike =(.

I HATE you. Thanks for reminding me there'll never be a sequel to that GLORIOUS movie :'(
Wii-U! I am upset too, I was so looking forward to Pier Solar HD on the 360 from the kickstarter, but only now did I hear that it has been temporarily cancelled for Microsoft platforms. Even another game which I started on the 360 has its sequel going there too. Even Sega seems to be focused on the system too with their free DLC. It is all gloom and doom for my prior prediction that Sega should be up for their turn for Deal of the Week. There's still some DLC I want from them along with stuff I never got from them (because I waited for cheapness) which I'd wish they'd release to the marketplace. I will give them credit for placing almost everything they'd ever released on the 360 on discount at some point (like Rockstar), but those little pockets of stuff which has not seen a discount, I want more and more if they'd only have a lower price. So, I too share your hate. Wii-U Bew Wii-U.

Regardless of whether or not you think it's a bad/overrated game (which is not the craziest thing to think), that is not a bad thing at all sales-wise. A lot of people whose first console was a PS2 are grown up and have disposable income now, making them a great market to target because of that nostalgia.
You have to remind me I'm fuck old now that the PS2 kids are grownups sexting each other, never thought I'd be so ancient my past would be behind the glass in museums. Worse yet, you tell me those same people whose first console was a PS2 has disposable income, when I've never had any after all this time which is a primary reason for me being a CAG T_T. fuck my life ... speaking of which ...

Back to our discussion previously about an open world game based on marriage, sweeping leaves has to be a side quest.
For this game, I've been trying to get achievements, but I need a good boosting group. TrueAchievements, despite its name doesn't seem to help me. I still don't even get some of the systems in place for the game. All I can manage myself are the easy ones.

You're absolutely right about all of that, Bobby. I don't think for a second that all of the "global" game series will be completely canned. (I'm looking forward to the Sleeping Dogs sequel) I just hope that this focus on more classic style JRPGs will mean a return to something close to the glory days of Squaresoft games. I miss turn-based RPGs very badly. I'd love to see some old school FF games, or another in the series of Chrono games.
Glad I gave Island of Wakfu one more chance. I'm starting to get the hang of it, and understand how to do things (there are way too many made-up words when the game is explaining things). The game looks great and plays alright. Kind of challenging too, I'm stuck on a boss in level 8.
Here in Cocoon, you should be wary of Pulse L'Cies even if you've been branded by a Fal'Cie to be a L'Cie yourself to complete your focus, else you become a Cie'eth. Protip: use "robot vampire" you unsuccessful bastards. Well fortunately for those of us craving the turn based RPGs, XBLA's upcoming Child of Light is looking great borrowing the great battle encounter and command meter from Grandia, just missing the positional factor in the battle system. While I don't think Square-Enix ever lost it with The World Ends with You, Chaos Rings, and Bravely Default, my intuition leads me to think it may be best they leave the Chrono series alone with just Radical Dreamers and Chrono Cross, otherwise given their recent track record it'll turn into some social-mobile microtransaction title and I'd prefer them to leave my fond memories alone until they provide more proof they are worthy to try again and put forth an actual artistic effort as they did back then ^^.

Well, this past week was a mild one for discounts. I am still hoping, given the survey on the Xbox Rewards, some new and great offers are to come opposed to dereliction. Thanks to CAG, I've picked up lots of Microsoft funny money in hopes to get the bonus rebates, and I have a lot of DLC I want to buy. Again, I eagerly await the next sales. My prediction, with all of the discussion here on Project Spark and the amazing fan-made games, I salute you talented and imaginative gamers, and our discounts for deal of the week will too by making Bloomy's April 1st imaginative joke discounts a reality! Or more likely now that the day has passed and it was called that recent discounts mirrored both March Madness and Wrestlemania, I do not see any other event in the coming weeks which could inspire a theme for Deal of the Week. ... Unless they are thinking of discounting the Call of Duty Nazi Zombies again because the Live Team is thinking green.

Also, woohoo!! YES! Thanks for great news! After The Full Package treatment for 3, I held out on purpose to in hopes the 4th Saints Row game will get a complete edition, and I was losing a bit of faith for a while there. Now I play the waiting game for the game of the generation edition to go on sale!

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot bob101910 is listed as Cammy's Cat. I assumed the CAG title was not a euphemism and Cammy does like the cats (can also be a euphemism ^^). I understand meow. Plus I wanted to end off my post sounding right (plus I enjoy my character beating the accursed ansatsuken fighters, also I liked Cammy too well before her top-tieredness). Thanks starmartyr, forgot to address the Sleeping Dogs sequel too T_T.

Some of the early parts of each chapter might require finding the right near-level enemies to fight and not just taking on enemies that are way too high for you unless you have a great grasp of the battle system.

Clash of Heroes is one of my favorite digital games of this generation.
I concur it's a great game but the loading screens are atrocious and slow the whole pace of the game down for me as I feel like I'm constantly looking at a loading screen where I want to be playing a game instead. A small criticism but it's one of those games where you get a loading screen just far too often especially considering it's certainly not a graphical powerhouse. If you like Clash of Heroes can I recommend Puzzle Quest 2, obviously a different fighting mechanic but otherwise similar games.

That's probably the only major issue it has in the translation from DS to consoles, but that gorgeous art and better balancing were worth it for me.

Man I cannot decide whether to grab :360: Titanfall on Amazon for $45. I've created and cancelled the preorder like three times now.
I've read that 360 version isn't much worse. Details/lighting differences are noticeable, but gameplay is pretty much the same. Might be less bots around the map, which can change strategy.

Yeah I've watched a couple of Twitch streams tonight. It actually looks pretty smooth on 360. I'm just not sure about the game though. I'll probably wait until like $20-30 to check it out.

Agreed. Was kind of surprised it looked so close.

Not dropping $60 for the game though.

Goes to show, there is a big difference in games based on movie franchises and games made to promote movies. I expect we'll see less bad movie tie-ins now that THQ is gone, though.

Off Topic Begging: Please start watching Hannibal. Even if you don't want to watch it, at least put it on your TV. This is probably the best show I've seen in the last 10 years that might not get a third season and it was designed for at least 7. I really don't want the show to get cancelled.

Back to Xbox: I'm really looking forward to playing the new Kinect Sports game. The reviews I've read made it sound like the controls didn't work well, but I'm still optimistic because the problems they were having did not happen to me in the demo (I've played several hours of). Unless they made the full version worse than the demo, I should be happy with it.
