Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Gen. Discussion & Info

Sorry we dropped you, Phantom...but I think it was your connection with the lag.

Thanks for the matches, all! Some wild ones!
(I was using lesser-used characters the last few matches...ugh, that Ness jump!) ;)

Dunno if I'll make it on tomorrow or Saturday. I'll play some Brawl or Mario Kart Sunday though

Good games all. That lag was something else! But I think it had to do with all four of us playing at once. We were playing with Phantom already and it was moderately laggy. Then J showed up and it became unplayable.

I figured it was maybe me, or at least that was the reason, and I understand. What I don't understand is that we played plenty of 4-player matches with no lag, even last time. Also, I just read the instruction booklet, and apparently the colored dot next to your name on your friend list indicates how good a connection that person (or you and that person) had the last time you played. Most of the time, you guys have red dots, but never better than orange. So, if it takes both people into account, where the worst of the two determines it, and mine is always bad, then I guess to me, you guys would always appear bad...?

Anyway, thanks for playing again. The lag is the only way I can win! :) Maybe I should try to host next time just to see. I guess it could also be the time of day. Seems to me the lag started about the same time as last time.

It (lag) did appear suddenly, and yeah, around the same time.  Almost seemed like network traffic kicked in and just clogged up the matches.

You show a red dot on my list as well.  Daisy and Jack show yellow and dyeknom shows a green dot.

Is Mario Kart just as bad? It's another game that I will not have touched at all before Nintendo's server shutdown announcement. I've only unlocked four characters in Smash so far...

Hey y'all! I just got my GCN controller adapter the other day; would love to play a few games. Unfortunately, I have a big test on Friday, so I can't play until then.

Friday and Saturday games?

PS - Good to hear from you guys! It's been a while, huh? :)

I was starting to think you lost your touch, then you started using Yoshi.

Edit: And King Dedede.

I'm back

Good games. I'm sure you realized by the first match that you don't have to try very hard against me. And I really hate that pokemon stage. Gets me every time! :headache:
The Pokemon stage is my favorite. It seems like everyone else hates it though.

I finished what I needed to take care of, so I could play a bit more now.

Would anyone be interested in playing Project M sometime?  I only recently discovered it and would like to try playing against real people.  You don't need to modify your Wii or install the homebrew channel to play it, all you need is an SD card and the original game.

Thanks for the games! I apologize if you felt I was running, but Yoshi really doesn't have a lot of responses to your G&W's smash attacks. I needed the space!

Lol it's no problem... good games. I'll join again when there's a group playing, though, for sure.

I think I've just lost my stomach for edge baiting to get the other person to attack first. I guess I've completely lost my drive to chase around a level. It would be different if I actually found enjoyment in the pika-spamming or like-minded fighting to counter it, but they both quickly suck any of the fun to be had.. :(
