Eldritch, why did you buy the Pinball FX tables on Xbox? Your PlayStation tables are cross-buy and you'll play them into the next decade. I picked up a bunch this weekend even though they weren't on sale.
Well they were on sale there, have ample XBL credit, they're not cross buy to PS4, half the tables are missing from PS4, doesn't look substantially better on PS4, controller felt better for pinball while demoing the tables.

Also, I saw the used price on the ME Trilogy is $27.99 on gamestop. Nice deal after PUR and Birthday coupon. Still, Vigilante placed the PS4 Remaster rumor on my mind. :twoguns:
Yeah, you may as well wait longer if you waited this long to play ME. I know I am and was even before people here started recomending it.

They're not cross-buy to PS4? I don't have a PS4 but I was under the impression that they were. I do know that if you buy them on PS4 first, you won't get the PS3 and Vita versions. Is that what you mean? And you already get a table for free on PS4 (Sorcerer).

I thought the same thing as you about the Xbox controller being more intuitive for pinball, but you'll notice the trend reverse the longer you play pinball. The triggers on an Xbox controller are spring-based and require weight to pull; a PlayStation's triggers are just buttons and provide no resistance when pressing them, meaning you'll play comfortably for much longer.

The correct answer is to buy them on every platform. 'Why did you buy Pinball FX tables only on Xbox?' would be the better question. I've triple dipped now on a few tables and will do so on any remaining tables I'm missing on any platform when I can get them on the cheap...

PINBALL!!!!!

I got the ME trilogy for $20 last summer and so far have only completed the first mission the day after I bought it. I get too distracted by other games and scared by the time sink. Maybe I'll fire it up as my next game after finishing InFamous 2.

Yeah, you may as well wait longer if you waited this long to play ME. I know I am and was even before people here started recomending it.
I've wanted to play ME for YEARS. But I just can't pull the trigger and start an RPG on my PS3. I don't get enough TV time to go through an RPG the right way -- exploring, questing, taking it in. Let alone a three game series.

At this point I'd happily pay over usual MSPR for a PS4 remaster with decent remote play controls.

And I just realized that I am that sucker publishers are targeting with remasters. I'm already stoked for TLOU and can think of a bunch of other slow(er) paced games that I'd pay full price for to actually get to play, since remote exponentially increases the odds I'll be able to get to a game.

so much truth.

I think you get the PS4 if you buy the PS3 versions but then it's talking about importing and not actual cross buy so I don't know if that means it's a one time thing like some of these PS4 upgrades are. Then a large number of tables aren't available on PS4 and who knows if they will be anytime soon. It's all vague and slightly confusing. So I bought the $28 (still can't believe I spent that much) of tables I really wanted on the platform they were on sale. If there's any compatibility with the Xone version when it comes out in the near future then all the better.

I like the bumpers better than triggers.

The time sink is exactly why I have waited this long. I was really tempted to get the trilogy when it came out, but realized I would never get around to it. Who am I kidding, I wont get around to it on Ps4 either. I already have a PS4 backlog due to plus! By the time I buy one there will be a bunch of other cheap games out I will want to play first.

Have people actually played stick it to the man already? Just wondering how it can be called shovelware and have people so up in arms about being the ps4 ps+ game for May if they have not played it or anything like that.

So the Cold, Cold Heart DLC for Batman is pretty good. It just pisses me off since it proves that they could have content with villains other than the Joker taking charge.

It's not rocket science. From the Doctor Strange table DLC:

"Purchasing this content entitles you to both the PS3™ and PS Vita versions!"

But if anybody sees PS4 in that sentence, let me know. I might be blind and so should go to the doctor.

Cross-buy is not a one-way street. If you got PS4 from buying for PS3, you'd get PS3 from buying PS4. Duh.

As much as I love all the side questing in ME1 99% of it is not required for ME2 or ME3. You can easily beat the main missions in 15 hours or less if you just want to start the trilogy and you still get all the best parts of ME1 that way.

I'm pretty sure this is wrong. There was some dumb crossbuy rule where you could only upgrade, not downgrade.

Am I the only one who thinks this month's EU list sucks? Mix of bargain bin, ancient, and uninteresting PSN titles.
Definitely don't understand the hate for EU PS+ lineup. Muramasa is still going for like $25. Payday 2, Puppeteer, and Stick it to the Man have all reviewed very well and Puppeteer was the only one on sale digitally recently for a really good price so a few people might already have it.

None of that is ancient or shovelware. C'mon guys, this isn't the PS Blog comment section.

I will say that even though the decisions are very binary that some of the most memorable choices were in the first game and don't think the other two came near it in that regard.

Wow, well OK then. I was most definitely wrong. That sure is strange, though. You'd think they'd update the listings for the PS3 versions to say that you also get PS4. Some serious wonkiness.

I think this month's EU sucks because I am not very interested in any of the games they are getting.   Doesn't mean the games suck, just means I dont care for them.  Again, kind of glad about that as I have other games to play.

The biggest problem with Pinball is both Zen and Arcade don't support button presses while playing vertically on Vita. You have to use the touchscreen. You could button press the flippers on the PSP and it was magical in Pinball Arcade. Touch screen way works but I'd prefer using the buttons.

I liked a lot of those side quests too. The Mako didn't bother me as much as other people and I'd gladly take that over the planet scanning...

My thoughts exactly. I was all excited to play these vertically to see more table, but I loath touch screen flipper control. Lost so many balls playing on iPhone because I tapped on the wrong spot or whatever.

Agree completely. I wish they'd let you set buttons to work when vertical. I don't care if it's a bit akward, it's better than touchscreen. On Vita I mostly stick to the games with only 2 flippers as those tend to be fine held horizontal. For anything else I mostly play on PS3.

This reminds me of the Atari Lynx version of Klax. Yeah. It was awesome. You held it vertical, but of course no touch screen so you still used the buttons. It worked fine and it was a great implementation of the game. It's true that some hated it for that, but it looked good vertical and I had no issues with the controls.

Played some Octodad last night and it is resoundingly... okay. The absurdity of it all is pretty funny and even got my wife interested in watching (never happens), but it's all pretty shallow and definitely not for everyone. I don't regret it for $12 since I was pretty intrigued (handosomepete inception'd me), but I know a lot of you cheap bastards would be better off waiting for $5ish.
The truth is that I don't actually expect octodad to be some life changing game experience and I think a lot of people will be severely disappointed if they go in expecting something real meaty. I honestly think it was probably a bit of a challenge for the developers to make something resembling a progressing, semi-story driven game after the weird success (?) of the original octodad.

But this is what I do like about it - it's different. I've never seen anything like it - a game that's purposefully difficult to control and fun to watch as a result (I'm vaguely aware that it's kind of a genre now with Surgeon Simulator and friends (although the fun of watching those is debatable - this is still different to me)). It's a slapstick video game with a completely absurd concept. There's at least one section where there's almost unavoidable banana peels to slip on in the middle of your walking path because they can. It's made by a handful of guys who, up until right before the steam release, were still working their real jobs while making the game. They were approached by Sony at PAX and became the indie poster child of the PS4 launch! It's a cool story, and I think the guys that made it seem really genuine. After the steam release, one of them seemed pretty stoked because their student loans would be paid off. More importantly, the game seems joyful - it's not super artsy, it's not super violent, it's not super childish, it's not super lude. It seems like something that would be fun to think about it when you're in a really good mood having a sandwich and a soda.

So that's why I like it and I've annoyed everyone half (mostly?) to death with stupid gifs for a day. Will I play it more than once or twice through? Probably not, I don't have any illusions about the game itself and what reviewers have already said. But this is one of those situations where I'll very happily throw my money at something that I think is great. Save your dollars if it doesn't speak to you in that way for sure.

1. Puppeteer - bargain bin
2. Rebirth - ancient; played it on Wii
3. Hot Shots - bargain bin & ancient
4. PayDay 2 - Good! But we already had it ...
5. Stick it to the Man - uninteresting

Like I said, Pupeteer was an inevitability. It's reviewed well, but it's been on sale cheap and we could all sense that it'd hit PS+ eventually. I'll play it. But it's hard to be excited about it. It doesn't give the month "oomph."

My distaste for overly artistic indie platformers may be idiosyncratic, but it's how I feel. Stick to to the Man simply doesn't excite me. But that's fine. Resogun was awesome. Don't starve was awesome. Binding of Isaac will be awesome. The PS4 games can't please everyone every month.

The rest is meh. Murasma was a less than inspiring experience on Wii and it's not any better on Vita. Hot Shots has been available for under $10 new and under $6 used over the last year. I'd rather see newer PSN stuff than old, old retail games.

Tldr; stand by my comments, take offense at the green font :whistle2:(

How can you say that when you apparently didn't try it on Vita? It has added/improved things, including the controls (jump button instead of up on D-Pad) and localization, and pretty much everyone who's played both has said the Vita version provides the superior experience.

Unless you're talking about the gameplay, which I'd understand somewhat since that wasn't really affected.

Don't worry, I would have bought it even if you never talked about it (your enthusiasm helped to remind me it existed, though). I had no insight into the story of the developers or anything like that, but I get what you're saying about it being infectiously charming. Like I said, I don't have regrets and I look forward to playing more tonight, I just know there are a number of folks in this thread who would not like it at all.

I don't call $12-$20 bargain bin, so maybe we just have different scales on that.  But Puppeteer isn't all that cheap yet.  Arkham City was bargain bin in my opinion, but Puppeteer isn't.  I don't dock it points for being an "inevitable" choice either, nor did I consider it inevitable.

The original Muramasa is older but the Vita version really isn't that old.  And I'd think there are lots and lots of Vita owners who never played the Wii version.  Everyone had a Wii but not everyone played more obscure titles like Muramasa.  I know I never bothered to play it til I got it on Vita.

So by my count there's only 1 bargain bin game and only 1 ancient game, and it's the same game.

Pinball is so boring.
Sorry Jay but pinball is awesome. Playing real pinball is where it's at and it's such a hard game. I'm lucky to know people that have 4 or 5 tables each so I get to play lots when I visit. My friend has Demolition Man, Star Wars(Data East), Nightmare on Elm St., Taxi, Comet and Gorgar. My brother has Star Wars (Data East), Adams Family, ACDC and The Wizard of OZ. If you can't play real pinball then the Pinball Arcade is next best thing to play some classics.

Think about all those boring pinball tables you bought for Zen. Have you tried the Pinball Arcade yet?

I stupidly bought them because I thought I'd go for the trophies for them one day. What a waste of money.

If we get similar Plus games to EU, I gotta decide whether I want to trade in Puppeteer and Muramasa or keep them. Hmmm, decisions, decisions.

If we get Muramasa for PS+, I'm selling my copy ASAP.
