Just because I am bored, what PS4 game do you guys predict will the added to the IGC for plus in June? It has usually been a indie game/port that was released that month, but i don't see anything like that scheduled for June. I am hoping for Transistor, but doubt it.

I know you're just kidding, but many of them do have achievements, yeah. There's nothing equivalent to gamerscore or collecting trophies as far as I know but the achievements do ask you to do challenging things and I've never seen one for just turning on a game.

mobile games are junk. octodad has more depth than virtually every mobile game I've ever played. As I think affa noted before, most of them are just souped up grind fests disguised as games. apple has pushed to get a shiny coat of paint on the graphics side, but that hasn't done much to make the games actually not suck.

all that said, I'd be pretty surprised if there was a full blown console gen after this. at least like we think of it.

Actually iOS has GameCenter, which is their version of system-wide achievements/trophies. But it's kind of poorly done. It's hard to tell what, if any, control there is on GC achievements in games. It feels like devs do whatever they want with them.

E3 is in June, so it might be something non-Indie.

Don't you think it would be a game already out or releasing in June? E3 is not until 10th through 12th. June IGC will already have been announced. Just curious as to what game people think will be added for the PS4.

YES YES YES!!!! Mobile = crap. I sometimes look at the few games on my phone and then go nope not going to bother. Except for Zen Pinball once in a sitting in the car waiting.

I think the whole sport is pussified as every time anyone gets close to being "tackled" the "tacklee" falls to the ground, grabs his shin and rolls around like he is going to die. Then once play resumes or the other player gets a red/yellow card, he gets up and plays like nothing ever happened.

If ever there was a sport where they need a "flop" penalty or card in this case, soccer is it. This is one of my biggest pet peaves with soccer. The other being how god awful boring/slow the play is on that huge ass field!

I don't see tablets having that much of an impact at all due to the extremely fragmented nature of their ecosystems that requires purchasing new devices to keep playing all of the newest games and the terrible controls that most of the real-time games offers on tablets. Hardcore gamers aren't likely to jump ship to tablets for a long time, if ever. Those that would aren't the sort of consumers that you can build any sort of base around because they jump to whatever's hot at the time, which is why they abandoned the Wii for mobile games once its appeal wore off. The few games I've seen that would fit the "console-quality" description either have severe downgrades to some of the complexity of geometry or whatever to fake that level of visual quality along with having such gigantic filesizes (~1-2GB) that I can't see those devices with 8-32 GB for its total available storage being capable of replacing consoles for those sorts of games.

Netflix and Youtube aren't more popular than Blu-ray and MP3s, or maybe you meant CDs since that's the music form of Blu-ray, because they're lower-fidelity, but because they're faster to access and they're on everything. MP3s are also in that realm of faster access and being available on everything through Amazon MP3/iTunes and the many streaming services out there that let you build a library to stream your music anywhere. The consoles are going in this direction with the way that digital gaming options are growing quickly with every console now offering digital versions of retail games on day one and an increasingly growing library of digital exclusive titles, which we know is catching on when Sony talks about the huge adoption rate of digital games on Vita and I'd imagine that Xbox One and PS4 are seeing similar numbers being more accommodating for that audience at launch with services like PlayStation Now coming later this year.

No way it will be Transistor. 0% chance. Book it.

In March we didn't have any idea Dead Nation PS4 existed until we were told we're getting it for free. May was similiar, we had heard that Stick it to the Man was coming to PS4 eventually but it definitely showed up almost out of nowhere as well. So it could very easily be a game we haven't heard about yet.

That being said, I think it will be Knack. Maybe when they reveal the June lineup at the end of the month, they won't tell us what PS4 game we're getting and will tell us to "wait one more week for the E3 conference" and then they'll announce Knack or whatever on June 9 and we'll get it June 10.

I do like soccer a lot, we have a local MLS team that I like to follow and international competition like the World Cup is awesome. I don't find it boring but the flopping is terrible. It's equally as bad in the NBA though, and what do you guys think is happening in the NFL? The corners and safeties can't do anything to guard receivers anymore, as the rules keep getting more and more pussified receivers and QBs will keep working to draw calls. And trust me a 25 yard pass interference call is much more of a game changer than a free kick at midfield in soccer.

Oh the other cool thing about soccer is that it doesn't fucking drag on forever.  Baseball and football regularly go 3+ hours anymore.  The last 5 minutes of a basketball game takes 30 minutes.

Soccer is a 95 minute game with about a 20 minute intermission.  Almost every game is over in 2 hours, and only has limited commercial breaks in between.  No fucking commercials like in football after someone scores and again right after they kick off.

Transistor comes out two weeks before June starts, so it's disqualified because they're not giving away games that people couldn't buy until a couple weeks prior to that.

Stick it to the Man had a release date of May 2 at least a couple of weeks before launch, so it was a title rumored for a bit by anybody that just looked at what was coming soon. Looking at the first week of June shows nothing coming out, so I'd keep an eye out for release date announcements for the next few weeks for a heads up.

I was actually thinking of holding a contest where I'd ask people to guess the three evergreen PS3 titles for PS+ that'll be announced at E3 to see if anybody could get all three right.

That'd be cool. I'm actually guessing they'll replace one of the PS3 evergreens with a PS4 evergreen, Knack. Then 2 PS3 evergreens. And for the love of god maybe a couple new Vita evergreens.

I will give you that the inability to make real contact with receivers is starting to ruin football. But that doesnt make the players pussies. That is a business decision by the NFL. When safeties and corners take a receivers head off it really is fucking their day up. The receivers dont lay on the ground acting dead before getting up and playing like normal.

This part of the conversation started because you called nfl players pussies for not being able to cover/hit receivers anymore. But that has nothing to do with them being pussies or not wanting to play football. The rules have been changed based on business decisions the NFL feels they had to make. Soccer players are just pussies and soccer in general is filled with pussies because they allow the players to roll around on the ground faking injuries. Soccer players should have become actors if they dont want to play soccer and act instead.

Yeah that doesn't help things. I don't think it was you who said Soccer was super boring, but anyone who thinks soccer is boring but has no problem watching baseball is insane.

To watch, I like watching MMA, Football, and soccer about the same. Then Hockey, then further down the list basketball, then baseball last. But it depends on the quality of the game. I'd watch a good NBA matchup over a 3rd rate soccer league game.

I said the rules keep getting more and more pussified. I missed a comma in between the words pussified and receivers. But you do realize it was the pussy players in the players union that sued the NFL over concussions and make them pussify the rules in the first place, right?

Most the time when a soccer player flops the game just keeps going and the player gets up. Yeah he's a pussy but it usually doesn't affect the game a ton. Plus at least the clock keeps running.

So far there are only two positive thoughts I have on this PES 2014 game.

1. Easy trophies as long as you play a zillion games.
2. At least the load times are super quick so playing the games goes by fast. Get a lead, pass to your goal keeper, and just hold the ball until the time runs out.

The players sued because we have asshole lawyers and other leaches that can make money off of lawsuits. And family members want someone to blame other than their dads/husbands/sons for playing a violent game. Most players know what their getting into. Its the small subset of people that say "nothing can be my fault, it must be your fault" that ruin it for the majority.

They're cowards for getting concussions? The same concussions that can give them severe mental trauma later on, where several former players have committed suicide while preserving their brains so that the affects of concussions could be studied and documented properly to help future players potentially play without sacrificing their lives for a sport they love to play? Even beyond concussions, former players suffer all sorts of physical issues that they have to live through without halfway decent health care support from the NFL until whatever the recent settlement has offered for them. I know trolling and snark is popular around here, but let's not be stupid about this stuff.
