I really think PS Now is going to run into the issues that OnLive ran into, even with the purchase of Gaikai. Most of America just doesn't have the internet speed required for it, on top of the issues present even for those with good net speeds (compression artifacts and input lag).

We had that good Japanese sale but EU has actually been having better sales the last few months overall IMO. Well we had that $1 which was cool but the game selection wasn't all that great.

I would have grabbed ME1, Age of Zombies, and maybe Fruit Ninja from this sale. Yeah, guess I'm not missing too much.

 
yeah, after reading some of the comments, i realize i'm not missing much either. age of zombies, tekken tag 2, mirrors of fate, and c&c 3(maybe). was jealous of them having that yugioh game on the store, until i read that it doesn't work on vita anyway. also been thinking about toukiden, but apparently it's getting another release like ragnarok and soul sac =/

School is closed and its hotter than heck. I'm just glad it isn't raining ash and shutting everything down again.

 
Compression is fine on Now for me, but the issue is really bad screen tearing that makes my eyes hurt. Guacamelee! and Disgaea D2 were horrendous.

Nuclear Throne is the shit. Isn't that how the kids say it? I bought it on Steam Early Access. It is a bit rough in spots, but so fun. Works great with a DS3 once you get use to it. I like controller better than mouse/keyboard. It's going to be awesome to have it on Vita, hopefully not too long from now.

The whole 'mercenary' thing is a fairly obvious play on console wars, but a few people here just want to play stupid for a quick laugh. That was actually a sincere post, though. And it has absolutely nothing to do with "liking conflict". I simply asked if in my attempts to be this neutral kind of guy, I create more strife? Am I being overzealous in my attempt to get people to see all sides? How does that make me look like a prick?

Today I learned that the 3D in a 3DS isn't a gimmick, and that including a dvd player for the media in the PS2 was a gimmick.

I feel dumber for reading this thread, sometimes.

It's not the post in and of itself; I'm reading it knowing you from CAG first and foremost. Here you seem to have a lot to say when anyone has something negative to say about anything (or anyone for that matter... I'm sure you know what I'm referring to). That GAF post says that you're aware of this. You don't think that continuing to argue over these things that you don't necessarily feel strong about is a little unbecoming?

You yourself said that it was "obnoxious" and you wondered if you were causing more "strife"... I know you're not about to argue with me over something you seemingly already know (that's something someone that likes conflict would do). When you start to find yourself annoying that should tell you something.

But you're a smart guy and kudos to you for the introspective deduction; most people are oblivious to themselves.

I actually did pack up most of my gaming collection. And clothes. But yeah, I was more worried about being bored in the event of an emergency.

Luckily the fire closest to my house is pretty much put out. And it's not even the real fire season yet.

Finished Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood last night. Hard to explain why, but I enjoyed it a little more than Red Dead. Maybe it was the more focused nature of the game. Definitely not a bad pickup for the ~$5 I paid for it.

You give me too much credit. I stole it from several other people that started doing it first. Cap probably started it, or he stole it from someone else, who knows for sure. And yes, I tend to carry on and use tech and gimmicks well past their prime. I still have yet to own any Apple products (ipad, ipod, iphone etc). I will probably jump on that bandwagon just in time for a new company to become the new king of "cool" tech.

EDIT: Hell, I still have my original Projection HDTV from 2006 and a 27in Sony Wega Trinitron from 2000. I had been refusing to get rid of them and buy new TVs until they break. Though I am thinking I may break down and buy new TVs with my next bonus just because they have gotten relatively cheap. To be fair I dont game on these TVs, I have a nice plasma for that.

It was a little annoying that sometimes I wasn't able to see what the heck I was shooting at, but other than that I really enjoyed it.

You know, I can appreciate what Breakfuss is talking about. There's a little of that in me too. I mean, for example, most of you are complete asses, but I will defend you when somebody else tells it like it is.

 
BTW, you can really tell when Sony drops a solid fart, deal-wise.  Nobody's asking when the store is updated, or how long the sales last.

There's actually a lot I want from the current EU sale. I'm going to have to see how difficult it is to purchase things from the EU store on an alternative account.

I think the hardest part is getting EU psn spacebucks with your filthy american money, everything else should be easy breezy.

edit - just noticed that the uk sale has tekken tag tournament 2 for $10. maybe I need to get in on that.

You can't compare number directly because the industry is much larger today than in the 80s and 90s. Something like market share would be a much better comparison.

is there any reason I couldn't buy a 10 pound download code from game.co.uk? looks like it'll let me check out with my US address and my credit card certainly doesn't care if I charge stuff in the UK. need to check if that EU sale is PS+ only before I go off buying stuff.
