So.. the QUBE Director's Cut isn't free to previous owners. It's unlocked on the store now, and the dev made a thread for it. He's not honoring his last post from July about it going to be free. Previous owners get a 50% off discount..

That's a dick move. If they hadn't said anything about making it a free update for previous owners it'd be one thing, but going back on their word is just setting people up to be annoyed with them. I'm going to assume they're charging for it now because they don't have faith that the console versions coming out will make their money back.

Complete and utter bunk. Sorry, but you sound completely ignorant of consoles, so I am not sure why you would even bother making such a comment. I'd put the SNES/PS1 era of console RPGs as some of the best around, and clearly superior to anything on the PC until the introduction of Baldur's Gate and Planescape.
Not completely ignorant.

However, if you seriously think that the kind of stuff that was on SNES and PS1 was better than things like Dark Queen of Krynn, Wasteland, and Pool of Radiance, then you and I have very different ideas about what constitutes a good RPG.

Agarest is the JRPG version of Leisure Suit Larry. The whole point is for it to be as sexually-themed as possible. The whole series is like that. Might as well play some weaboo eroge if all you're going to get out of the boring and repetitive battles are a few drawings of scantily-clad anime chicks.
Well, now I'm scared away by more than the DLC.

The way you say it it almost sounds like Fire Emblem. Guess I might pick it up after all, backlog be damned.
I'd pick up the Fire Emblem games if they were on Steam.

Please tell the whole series that I am unavailable for meetings behind Family Dollar stores or in alleys adjacent to strip clubs.

Nintendo is definitely for stupid little kids.

Anyway, Fiesta Online and Muffin Knight just released on Steam.  Any serious adult PC gamers going to play these?

Muffin Knight I played a lot of on Android, and it's actually a pretty fun game similar to Super Crate Box. With more muffins. So it's better.

I was almost going to try Fiesta Online, until I read it's played by a friendly community. I don't like when games lie to me.

I always pretend to be a 13 year old girl in MMOs and all the adults are very friendly to me and give me free things.

Go back and play those, see how well those rose colored glasses hold up. Cause I have gone back and played more than a few RPGs from that console era and they are still great experiences.

I've gone back and played Deathlord and Wasteland multiple times. They hold up just as well.

There is one fundamental difference however... CRPGs have evolved over time. Console RPGs haven't evolved as much, so modern ones are closer to classic ones.

Meh, crappy prices on Typing of the Dead stuff like usual.

To be fair, it does include House of the Dead: Overkill as well (PC port of PS3/Wii game), which you wouldn't think based on the title (I had no idea until I played the game).

Waiting for 75% off on the DLCs, if you didn't get it in the Sega Humble like I did, I'd recommend waiting too.

 HAHAHAHAHA... That's what I get for buying Race The Sun yesterday. Oh fuck ! At least I paid with GabeN currency though.

Seriously though, fuck Humble with these Humble Daily Bundles. I can't tell who's trolling more Steam or Humble the past week. So any bets that Agarest: Generations of War or Typing of the Dead will be in one of the upcoming Humble Daily Bundles?  /Sigh

EDIT: I'm legitimately angry... but I can sort of laugh about it...

Agarest doesn't seem like the type of game that would get bundled, but anything is possible I suppose. I wish Typing of the Dead would get bundled again, preferably in a bundle where I don't own everything else.

I would be so pissed if Agarest were bundled. Which means it's now officially tomorrows bundle.

Still debating, spacehulk on steam, or space hulk on ios. Both have the same iaps/dlc, though of course that means the dlc will most likely drop alot quick on steam than on ios, and supposed to be cross platform multiplayer i believe

I've dumped about 10 hours into the game, and while it's great, you don't really need any of the DLCs. I enjoyed the Shakespeare one because I'm a Shakespeare nerd, but I wouldn't buy any of the others. The DLCs are basically alternate word/phrase lists for the game to use, and frankly it would have been a lot cooler if Modern Dream/SEGA had rigged it so that you could just substitute your own word banks instead of buying a bunch of DLCs for that purpose.

Well I think another significant point here is that the hardware has evolved. While computers have become more powerful in terms of storage, computing power, and graphical capabilities since 1988 (and thus computer software has become increasingly sophisticated and complex), a PS1 is still a PS1. It will never be able to play anything that requires, for example, a hard disk drive.

My computer can run Wasteland 1 and Wasteland 2 now. Would I play Wasteland 1 on my current PC? Probably not. I've done that and moved on. There are some older games that I missed the first time around because kid = no money that I am interested in playing (which is the main reason that GOG exists as thing that's real), but ones I've already played. . . not so much.

I did some quick internet research on PS1 games that seem to be popular like Final Fantasy Tactics, Chrono Cross, and Vagrant Story. These don't seem to have the tactical depth, scope of worlds, or variety of mechanics found in things like the SSI Gold Box or the Bard's Tale games. They also suffer from one of the flaws I find almost unique to JRPGs as a class: weird, nigh-incomprehensible stories filled with jargon that seems to make no sense, characters with inscrutable motivations, and plot twists that might make sense if any of the rest of it did.

Congratulations! You've just explained most Western Fantasy/Sci-Fi fiction as well. You did however forget to mention that both Western and Eastern fiction also suffers from plot holes big enough to drive a semi truck convoy through.

Don't worry, he's a fake CAG. He only has 202 games ;)
It means a lot that you checked my exact game count, shows you really care. ;)

:applause: for your willpower to wait, when I really feel like :nottalking:
It was easy to wait, I didn't really want the game so $3+ was just not happening.

Thankfully my entire set of ebay info is fake: Name/Address/Telephone/etc. (apart from a real email address).
How do you manage to get by with a fake password?
