I might be wrong but I recall reading around launch that the PS4 by itself was completely stable vertical on it's own (as opposed to how it rocks when horizontal go figure) and the stands would augment that. I'd double check that but well I'm not the one who wants to put it vertical. ;)

 
I love Ico and SotC.  Can't wait to see if The Last Guardian is finally going to make some significant progress.

That being said, I haven't felt the need to bat an eye at the criticisms made against them in here.  They're valid points.  I won't pretend that the controls are some of the best in the industry or that the graphics have some hidden amount of detail that critics can't see.  The games aren't for everyone and I can definitely understand while some people don't like them, but what makes them awful in their eyes makes them works of art in mine.

They were never meant to be standard cookie-cutter video games.  They're successful in their own right and deservedly so.

I don't think I'll ever play Ico or SotC, but they sound compelling. Come around July, in the drought, I guess I'll play them.

 
I've not played either. Luckily I have both from PS+ so I'll get to them eventually. Prioritizing my EU PS+ backlog, though, as I won't be renewing that one and it expires around December or so.

I never played SOTC. I thought Ico was da bomb though (my wife was nonplussed).

I played the demo disc (memba those?) of SOTC and bought it on disc for PS3 and got it for free on PS+. Maybe after Infamous 2?

Anyone have any opinions about SOTC?

It's the 8th of the month, aren't we due for another "favorite final Fantasy" discussion or was that moved? I thought the Ico/SotC discussion was later?

Well, I just bought FFVII and FFVIII fo PC for $6 today. I can always talk about it when I get around to playing it if you're so desperate for one. :p

I'll start this one.

FF4 DS is my favorite game ever.

I thought FF12 was pretty good.

FF13 is pretty good, need to finish the sequels. I actually don't hate Lightning. She reminds me of myself. Vanille is annoying, but pretty hot.

FF6 was ok, decent story, good characters, and SNES was the shit.

Didn't care for 7-9

10 and 10-2 were ok.

I never got into 3, really need to start it one day, but I play too much Pokemon on the DS to play anything else.

Never finished the first one, but I appreciate it for what it is. I took a 4 fighter team about halfway through the game, then decided to play something else. I should pick it up again some day.

Never played 11 or 14.

If I gave a fuck about being banned, I would apologize to the mods when they PM me rather than call them out for being morons. If I cared at all, I wouldn't post under names like this one and "notjayremedy." I can come post whenever I want.

I also find it laughable that all these new names popped up after Tyler and I got banned and it wasn't like there was a major 99 cent sale or anything. People were actually scared of us and then they saw they could post their moronic thoughts with impunity.

Anyway, this name will likely get banned. Maybe I'll come back, maybe I won't.
 
Just started up Velocity Ultra. When will I know I like it? First couple levels are OK. When did it grab those that rave about it? Is it one if those stick with it games till it gets good or did you like it from the get go?
 
Resogun Plat, nice.  First PS4 plat.  Great game, addictive and challenging but still balanced enough that non-pros can still have a lot of fun with it.

I have mine vertical and I wouldn't call it entirely stable. I am going to get the vertical stand before I ever play any discs in it.
 
Just got ASM2 plat, ugh. Really not that horrible, asm was better, but this was at least better than edge of time.

also I beat Battlefield 4 on hard and only got the trophy for beating it on easy. Rage. Even on chapter select it says every chapter was beat on hard and all assignments/dogtags/weapons. I guess I will start the game over on hard and beat it in one sitting. At least this time I can actually use my buddies to kill things since I don't need to go for the high score assignments anymore. 

 
So I've been playing SC1 for a good part of the day, and I'm really not liking it at all. Does the series change much from game to game? I admittedly suck at stealth games. Should I just ignore the rest of the series, maybe even Hitman too?

Might rent Wolfy from Redbox. No on MLB, baseball games are zzzzzz too, I had it and traded in for dat $40 at BB. Transistor and 1001 look awesome but will wait for the first sale or until I clear out the rest of my PS4 PS+ backlog.

Definitely look into Redbox-ing Wolfenstein--I was pleasantly surprised by its quality.

2. So that makes affa and Frisky, at least, who I guess don't want to call me out directly and prefer to be passive aggressive about it. Come on guys, we all know who you're talking about. At least Breakfuss has the balls to call me out directly on my bullshit when he sees it.

3. Jay, I saw that name pop up in the active readers a couple days ago and I've been waiting ever since.

4. More related to the topic, I wonder if Microsoft and Sony get to pick the times they want to hold their E3 conferences, or if they're more assigned to them. If they get to pick, I can't believe Microsoft would want to go so much earlier than Sony after what happened last year. I'm expecting a lot of "Yeah, we heard the awful things they said...and we're not doing any of it!" type responses from Sony.

I don't think Sony would inprovise that much regarding changing their conference substantially in comparison to Microsoft's this year. That said, I expect gloating from Sony and hopefully, a knockout punch (followed by two under the belt).
 
Oh, and to add on to 2 above:

I don't hate every popular game, but unlike "some people" (see, I can do it too) I refuse to just sit here and fawn over games because everyone else is. If the controls in SotC suck, then I'm sorry, they suck. Every single time I post a criticism of a game, there are more than a few people agreeing with my opinions. And I don't understand how I hate on every popular game. I don't care for Rockstar, Team Ico, and From Software games...three studios hardly counts as every popular game.

But I know, those posts weren't directed at me. Just complete coincidence that they both popped up right after I made a negative post about the Team Ico games, and directly referenced things I said in the post.

Again, grow some balls and if you don't like my opinion, just man up and say it to me directly.

1. Yeah I've definitely had that return post planned since the day you posted your original comment. I even noted the post number (#10288) so it would be easy to quote once I got back.

4. I've questioned that as well. Sony has gone late Monday and MS early Monday for the last few years, as far as I can remember anyway. I'm guessing they probably all have their tentative times locked in, and if someone wants to change they probably have to find a partner to swap with. The only "conference" after Sony's is Nintendo, as EA and Ubisoft still go before Sony. Even if MS tried to get a later press conference time they probably still couldn't get a time that was after Sony's.

And yes, Sony used their later press conference time to their advantage last year and destroyed MS with it. Super excited for tomorrow night!

 
I'm excited for the whole day. Even though I don't plan on owning a MS console ever again, and I'm probably getting rid of my Windows Phone if Amazon comes out with something crazy next week, I'm still looking forward to what they have to say.

Yeah I'm definitely watching the MS conference in the morning. I blocked off 90 mins on my work schedule so nobody tries to schedule a stupid meeting with me.

To each his own. I hated 4, couldn't finish 12 or 13. But I absolutely loved 6, 7, 9 and 10.

All this talk about how good Wolfenstein is makes me want to own a physical copy instead of renting it on Redbox.

I dont care if u don't like some popular games. But when u say GTA or another popular game is terrible I know your dead fucking wrong. Because millions say your wrong. I hate demons souls. I dont ever say ita terrible because it can't be if most people that play it like it.
 
How do you twitch stream on PS4?? I was expecting that to be in via the Share button, but all I see are options to save a screenshot, or save a video (not stream). ???

Are you just sitting on the main menu? You can't stream from there. If you bring up the Share menu from within a game, there will be a Broadbast Gameplay option alongside Upload Video Clip and Screenshot.
