PlayStation 4 - General Discussion Thread

Kinda weird over all. Watched at a movie theatre. Was pretty fun overall, lots of cheering for the good bits.

Was really good and then dragged and then got good again. They should have cut out that powers shit, audience was really quit in theatre I was in for a good while there.

Vita TV is awesome, but still not sure if you can use ds4 with it since they bundle a ds3.

That one game with using both analog sticks for control was pretty cool looking, might pick that up.

LBP 3 that I havent seen mentioned is 8.7 million user created levels at launch from the first 2 LBP are usuable in LBP3 (take that 100 maps halo) That gameplay looked fun as shit too, 4 play coop, just a fun looking game. Graphics were pretty amazing too for game type.

The white destiny bundle was pretty cool.

Liked how they kept hammering home that ps4 will be the best place for indies and multiplats.

Batman was the tits. The batmobile, my god that was awesome. Tank mode wtf? Yesssss. Cant wait for that one to drop.

That sky indie game, going from world to space to world, looks cool but not sure about actual gameplay and how varied it is.

Guess it was too much to ask for more morpheus than there was but still think that will be the future of gaming (eventually).

Not sure about bloodborne.

Holy shit, that in game footage of mkx looked freaking awesome and I dont even like fighting games.

Sony added DS4 support for the Vita TV in firmware 3.10 a few months ago.

If you have BF4 you can download the beta immediately without waiting for a code(EA said codes will be sent out in 24 hours).

I played a few hours of the beta. Heist is like rush and obliteration combined. Blood Heist you just take money from one area to your home vault while protecting it. You can also steal money from your enemies vault. Winner has the most cash in home vault once time runs out. I currently like Blood Heist the most.

Lol his reactions to the whole TV and Powers thing is spot on.

Also Deader I'm not saying I'm wrong I'll just compromise because he even says it himself "Zombie Werewolves".

Those definitely aren't werewolves regardless of what Sony's page says they literally have none of the characteristics of werewolves compared to zombies.

(Edit) I forgot to add I'm confused by Destiny. Is Sony getting the game's official launch earlier than the Xbox platforms, none of the store pages have been updated to reflect that and Google Searches only show articles talking about the beta but they seem pretty adamant with the whole "Play it first" thing.

The Alpha is what I'm assuming they mean by play it first. I think that's cool. I've been drooling over Destiny for months now. I can't wait.

Also they really did look like the Underworld Werewolves so maybe they are drawing from that?

If it lives up to the hype, I'm more excited for No Man's Sky than anything that's been announced.
 
I thought Sony E3 started strong and went downhill as soon as the new Sony CEO guy went on stage. He seemed really fake and very awkward. Especially his hand! It was like watching a politician giving a speech. The worst was when they started to talk about the TV show Power, almost put me in a coma right there. But than Batman, Big Boss, and Nathan Drake came to save the day, so it was all good. 

I also went to the E3 theater show. Only got a lanyard, $5 psn credit, 30 day sony music unlimited, Destiny Beta, Battlefield beta, and a collectible poster... it was lame! Was hoping for a copy of The Last of Us remastered.

"Better yet, play the game on PS3 or PS4 and you’ll get a set of “Keys to Kyrat”. The keys open up Kyrat’s borders to any of your PSN friends, inviting them into your open world even if they don’t yet have a copy of the game. Capture outposts together, traverse Kyrat and make gains with anybody you know–or everybody you know. It’s a Playstation Exclusive and it means there are no limits to your Far Cry 4 experience."

Im with you on this, but it was the guys first E3 so imma cut him some slack. The Power TV stuff just felt out of place, but even with those two missteps Sony still had the better conference.

Because Uncharted 2 was freaking awesome! Sure Uncharted 3 was a misstep but that doesn't mean it should be shot out of its misery.

I'm surprise you got all that, actually. I expected like a lanyard, maybe a 14 day PS Plus trial and that's it. That's one reason why I didn't go (well, that, and I forgot).

Ill put my trust in the guys behind Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us as they are the ones in charge of UC4 now.

Right now this. Unless Nintendo announces something crazy.

Anyone got a compatibility list of games for Vita TV? Debating if I want to grab that or a real Vita. I don't own a Vita but I was planning on grabbing one sometime soon.

It's in Japanese but you could look at the Game Box art to get an idea from the Japanese PS Vita TV's page. The same games will probably apply if not less since they have some exclusive Japanese games.

At the start of the open beta, over a 100 titles covering a wide range of genres will be available from SCE Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS) and the industry’s best software developers and publishers. SCE will work with its publishing partners to test various rental periods and prices, depending on how and when players would like to game. For example, there will be shorter rental periods priced as low as US$2.99, and most titles will be between US$2.99 and US$19.99. As with all content published on PlayStation platforms, publishers and developers will ultimately decide their game price points. Furthermore, SCE plans to offer subscription options in the future.

I was hoping it would be a flat fee type deal, like Neflix but I should have known better. As for the prices, it's hard to judge unless we know the duration. $3 for a day is a joke but for a week, it would be perfectly reasonable.
