  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Just a quick reminder that "Saints Row IV" has been on sale recently because the "Saints Row IV National Treasure Edition" (aka GOTY edition) is coming out July 15th for only $29.99+tax. Here's a box shot from the kind folks @ GameStop to watch for:

... and with the front emblem claiming it has "over 20 DLC packs included", this is the version to get if you're (even slightly) interested in anything else besides just the Season Pass content. More info at GameStop here.

I ended up passing on the DR3 season pass but was still kind of debating on it tonight. Guess that decision was made for me. I just couldn't pull the trigger even at $20 with all the lackluster reviews. I'm hoping for it to go 50% off eventually. The new DLC looks sweet though so I may just bite on that.

Yep. The dlc is constantly and blatantly advertised in the game menus. I'm probably going to buy them all. I'm such a cheap ass gamer that it feels like it's a sin to pay full price for anything on xbl. Especially when popcap shit is always on sale and they will inevitably come out with a cheap compilation disc that will have a bunch of games included and some games may also be GWG.

That cheap $1.99 price for each dlc is so minuscule that it makes me say "fuck it."

I'm falling right for their smart marketing strategies.

It's also worth noting that only the two campaign DLCs for Saints Row IV offer achievements or any truly meaningful content: the rest is skins, musics for the dubstep gun, new weapons and so on. The base game was on sale last week for like 13$, and the season pass is currently 4$. Assuming that sale was used (or waiting until a similar one which will likely happen) and picking up the pass now for 4$, you can basically get the full game plus all relevant DLC for just over half the price. Granted, 30$ for the game with ALL DLCs is definitely a nice deal, but given the game's heavy reliance on superpowers and its powerful character editor, I'm not sure some extra weapons and skins are really worth it, unless you really are a fan. In SR3 I remember getting some minor DLCs such as the shark gun, but after a couple giggles I didn't really use it or need it. It's a cool edition nonetheless, just keep in mind that with sales you can get it digitally cheaper, only missing out on aesthetic stuff.

A little piece of me would die without a promotion of summer games to look forward to each week. Then waiting to purchase the first time they go on sale in winter.

Seriously hope they have a summer promotion of sorts since summer releases are few, and it was always cool to see what the line up would be, or the deal if you purchased all the titles. Summer of indie games for both consoles perhaps.

Just a heads up, there is a demo for Deadfall Adventures available now.  There wasn't one last night when I checked.  Planning to try it out after work.

Online pass lets you play coop over XBL. Season pass gives you access the DLC.
 
So I was able to buy Strider on X1 through the website using my Microsoft Account balance but 360 items still only try charging my credit card. Wish MS would straighten this shit out.

MorphX is 33% off for $19.99, Greg Hastings Paintball 2 for 25% off at $14.99 & Deadfall Adventures for 80% off at $7.99........I kinda want to get Deadfall Adventures but I have so much in the backlog and a wannabe Indiana Jones game just ain't gonna sway me.

I thought it was great when I played it a few years ago. I never got tired of giving wedgies, swirlies, kicking soccer balls at people's heads, running from the prefects, brawling with the football team, etc. Ended up getting all of the achievements which usually doesn't happen.

I played it probably about a year ago now for the first time, and went through and got all 1000 points as well. I actually enjoyed it more than GTA myself, would love to see another one (and another Red Dead!)

Totally. Same 5 things on sale, over and over and over again. I can't wait until CoD stuff is on sale yet again next week...

And totally disappointed on no World Cup-related sale. I might have bit on a FIFA sale, or even a non-FIFA soccer game sale.

 
Has anyone tried to download the new Arcade game, Blood on the Werewolf or something? Everytime I try to download the trial, it starts and then says the game cannot be downloaded.

I downloaded the trial last week and played it. I didn't like it at all. I love a good platformer but this just felt stiff. Difficult but not "fun" difficult. After dying a few times, I didn't hunker down and say "dammit, I'm gonna do this over and over until I get it".

Instead I said "screw this" and deleted it.

FYI I'm enjoying the free update of FIFA 14, where World Cup Ultimate Team let's you make your dream team, a lot. I'm glad I picked up FIFA when they had it discounted, been playing many hours and it's a perk being digital (love changing games on the fly with the Xbox One, one of the most useful features of the new system tbh).

Yeah I had much the same experience, didn't seem worth my time, even if it went on sale.

The season pass for Saint's Row 3 is also that short? I was thinking it had more content as compared to the season pass for Saint's Row 4...

Three pieces of DLC for SR3 and one of them is just extra Genki missions. They're rather linear and forgettable to be honest. Really the only DLC SR3 has that's worth getting is standalone and that's Saints Row 4.

 
So after playing SSFIV:AE I remembered why I stopped playing Street Fighter 4 and its all because of Seth.Jesus is he an annoying character to fight against and I thought Gill from Third Strike was annoying but I think Seth is a bit more OP.

I played a bit of Charlie Murder and I found it to be pretty fun but its definitely made for Coop.I got destroyed during one of the bosses and I'm sure it will be easier with at least another player.

Gill is way more annoying than Seth, especially AE Seth. Try lowering the difficulty and getting comfortable with one character and stick with them.

Both are extremely short and pretty crappy IMO. 3's DLC is even more forgettable than 4. At least I can remember the Christmas DLC in 4. I can barely remember anything about the DLC from 3 except that it turned me off buying season passes for the most part until the DLC is actually out and people have reviewed it.

I remember almost throwing the controller while trying to unlock the achievement for playing on the Hardest difficulty and beating Gouken in SFIV but I ended up getting it.And all I tried to do on this one is beat Arcade Mode on Normal without using a continue and Seth beats me in like 15 seconds.

I don't remember Gill being as annoying as Seth though.I remember that he was cheap but he was still beatable.
