  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I thought there was one where people were getting a small amount of Microsoft Points codes and selling them online. People that used those codes were getting banned, so you had to be careful which codes you bought. Maybe I'll have a couple family members do this and save the codes for a few months.

Nope I used 3 years worth, and I'm going strong, my live ends in less then a year. I've gotten in on a few of those $1 deals, and a few other free months. I am dreading the day I have to pay for live again.

 
Oh Crap, i did it and just noticed the over 18, missed the part where it said i have to be a US resident, which i'm not... Hope i don't get in trouble for this.

Why would you? I think you'll be fine. Just don't download a car or anything, that's the stuff they lookout for here.
 
That white screen is where you were supposed to get the code. I think they will be doing this each week for the next 4 weeks, so hopefully those that missed it get another chance.

 
Has anyone *without* an Xbox One been able to "buy" the free games with gold games for it? I just tried finally and while there is a Buy button there and I can click it, nothing happens. Is this just a temporary glitch? I would like to start stocking up on free games for some possible future Xbox One purchase.

I got both of the first ones. They say purchased on the site. No way to check without a One. I'll get one eventually.

 
Missed out on that $5 promotion. Maybe now people will use those funds to buy these Rockstar games and Microsoft will stop putting them on sale.

Exactly the promo can accumulate into funds, many gamers could hold a fund if they were quick enough with multiple accounts.

Rock Star where are the DLCs? I have some currency and I want to get them DLCs.

 
I search for things as well, so I don't anticipate any problems. I probably should start maxing out my daily searches, but it feels like the points are coming in fast without trying.

If anybody plays Ultra SF4 you can use these codes for some free titles. I don't know how long they are good for.

Sixty Second Shooter is pretty fun, good for just zoning out for a while. Not bad for $5

I just beat Jeff Rubenstein's score with 420,810, aww yiss!

Just got a score of 1,085,428. beat dat guys! :p

Agreed on Sixty Second Shooter.  It is so not my type of game (I'm an RPG/Action/Adventure kind of guy), but for $5 and...to be perfectly honest....some easy achievements, I gave it a shot.  It definitely has that "just one more round" vibe that will keep you on hours longer than you intended to. 

 
So as far as the fee $5 codes go, does anyone only used one 5$ code on their account like they're suppose to?

I wish they could just regulate it, the temptation is to hard, lol.

Yeah I played a bunch of it last night before bed and I just wanted to keep playing and seeing how much I could unlock.

It is really fun little game and worth the free five bucks I got from gamestop treasure hunt.
