Well I mean, if you're cheating you sort of bring that on yourself.

They're going off Steam achievements, though, and that's hard to get right. You can't verify legitimacy by looking at play time, since offline play and then launching online can give you 100% achievements in 2 minutes of playtime. You also can't legitimize using prequesits, such as "Horray you reached level 30!" by checking to see if they also got level 20's achievement since games also have achivement bugs that cause them not to trip properly. Really the only way they can have a foolproof check for cheating is if somebody triggers an achievement that's impossible to get in the game. I haven't been overly impressed with them. Their group was an absolute cinch compared to ours. Of the teams we've played, I'd rank them:

Germany

Portugal

Ghana

Belgium

It's absolutely a winnable game. Not saying we'll win for sure, but it is way more winnable than the Germany game. If we get to the Round of 8 we'll probably run into Argentina though. Uh oh.

They're going off Steam achievements, though, and that's hard to get right. You can't verify legitimacy by looking at play time, since offline play and then launching online can give you 100% achievements in 2 minutes of playtime. You also can't legitimize using prequesits, such as "Horray you reached level 30!" by checking to see if they also got level 20's achievement since games also have achivement bugs that cause them not to trip properly. It's not like I'd refuse to buy because they're doing Games with Gold. It just makes it so much more likely that Super Championship will be free for PS+ in the near term that I'm reluctant to buy now.

The thing about the manual tracking is that they only let you add six hours at a time and you have to wait at least six hours to add more time for a game, so it's about as much of a chore as it could be to track things manually. It's hard buying any PSN game, especially indies, considering they are likely to take the money and go with it for more exposure/cash upfront. The Plus structure must be very complex, since it looks like they're all winning out in the end.

If I recall correctly, Towerfall performed best on PSN and it had quite the Sony publicity behind it. So Thorson choosing to go free for a month must help him out even more cash/exposure wise.

The limited PSN tracking is because of Sony, not Raptr. You'll notice XBL and steam don't have the same issues. I don't know exactly why that is, but one of the Raptr guys actually complained about it in an interview.

There are ways around it. For instance playfire manually marks trophies on some games for campaign progress. But, yeah that's been one of my chief complaints about the way PSN handles profiles. At least PS4 is showing signs of improvement. You can see what your friends have been playing. Sometimes it'll even say stuff like 'breakfuss defeated bowser" etc.

I thought the space levels (normal and spooky) were more difficult than the Grannie levels, but that might be because the Grannie levels are pretty straightforward platforming/hovering segments while the space levels required more finesse. I dunno.

You were off a bit. There were a couple platforming sections in the mask-collection portion of Guacamelee that were tougher than anything in this.

Still it's a great game and fairly challenging. I liked the 3 different planes you could jump back and forth between, I thought it looked cool. How did that look with the 3D?

Yup, then need to replay most of the first 20 to unlock the hidden medal in the level. Then need to replay portions of the first 20 again with the new unlocked character to get all those medals.

I do wish the game just let you get to those extra sections without hiding the entrances within the other levels.

YouTube announced support for 60fps videos! Crazy timing because I was just discussing earlier how freaking good the PS4 port of Flower looks. Seriously, if you haven't tried it do so. It's free if you own it on PS3/vita. Easily the smoothest and most responsive game on PS4. Should serve as a great example for people who say they can't tell the difference.
