How do I unlock hard mode?
You can either finish the game in normal mode, or enter our secret code:
Xbox One: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Y, Y, then View button
Xbox 360: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X, Y, then Back button
Wii U: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Y, X, then Select button
PS4: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Square, Triangle, then the touchpad

But if you werent a digital hoarder it wouldnt take long to manage memory. I just delete games and saves when i finish them. Takes 2 minutes.
The point you're missing is that while 500GB is larger than most PS3s' stock HDD, games have also increased in size (and disc-based require install). Plus, patches. Man...these patches are big as well.

Guess it comes down to your situation. I'm also not the only one using it (even if 99% of the time it's me). On the rare occasion she will play with me I don't want to rush to "find something" suitable so I keep a lot of MP staples installed. I also had stuff like LBP on PS3 for my nephew. I hate LBP but never have the heart to delete it. So, yeah.

Also...video captures. I've been doing quite a few of those so that takes space. I get what you're saying about "hoarding" but it's not just that, lol. I definitely think people should upgrade if they find a good price. This, coming from a person rocking with 8GB and 320GB on vita and ps3.

Dude, I know there are other things that go into memory management. Of course games are getting bigger and the PS$ can do other things. I just dont need to go on an expose of every possible combo like you do. The sky is also blue.

I still lube you though. No hard feelings.

These 30-50 gb installs though. I'm not sure if most disc-based PS4 games are like this or not as I haven't looked into it much, but that's only roughly 15 game installs on your hard drive at once. Like you said I know you can delete them, but if I can get a good enough deal on a larger hard drive I'd rather not even have to worry about it.
But since the PS4 separates game installs and save data, there's no reason to have that many game installs just sitting on your hard drive unless you're somehow playing them all simultaneously. :joystick:

Wolfenstein and Infamous: SS have 40-50GB installs, so I focused on fully completing both games before deleting the install data (not the save data like some people ).

It was the Vault case. The clearance one should be drying up now, though there may be a few floating about still. The thing is that case was designed for the original model so it was a bit snug for some peoples liking. I think it may have varied case to case though as mime wasn't nearly as bad as others have reported.

However, the new model Vault case has just been released and its designed to cover both models. Its only 20 bucks and I guarantee its worth it.
Thanks, I didn't know they came out with a newer one already.

Yeah, this is what you should do. I guess too many people are like Affa. Digital hoarders? I have a 160GB and never see available space go under 20GB
160gb jajaja. That would never work for me. I have a 1TB that's maxed out (and that's with memory management). It's probably the best investment for a PS3/Plus combo.

Just watch me play it, boom! Problem Solved!
You gonna be silentbro or you mic'd up?

Asura's Wrath isn't on PSN for whatever fuck ing reason. :whistle2:(

I'm never gonna get that game back for a good price.
I almost bought it for $17.XX from Amazon a while back. Decided to wait, then just decided to pass on it altogether. Don't try and change my mind by telling me how awesome it is.

Titan Souls scheduled for early 2015. Definitely near the top of my indie radar.

The video in that link reminded me that Hotline Miami 2 is coming this year. Can't wait.

Exactly. I upgraded from my original 60GB to a 500GB on my PS3 about 5 years after I had it because I was tired of having to constantly delete stuff. 500 seems good now for PS4, but with all of the other content that you can store, I don't see it being very sustainable unless you only play a couple games at a time and do nothing else. But I probably won't upgrade until there is a 2TB that fits and is affordable. Good thing there aren't any games on the PS4 yet.....

Yeah for the PS4 a 2TB would probably be the only viable upgrade when it becomes available because 1TB would still not be "enough" for some people. If anything Sony should allow for the use of USB drives like everyone else through a firmware update.

Hahaha, maybe I did get a little excited there. I just don't want to believe I'm a hoarder. I really cannot emphasize enough how much I HATE shuffling shit around on my PS3. Don't want to be in that situation again.

I am completely baffled by the logic of spending an extra $100 with your PS4 purchase just so you don't have to delete a couple games. Especially with the fact that you can play most PS4 games before they're even finished installing. I reiterate my comment from last week about how you guys suck at memory management.
Well you could look at it the same was as with buying a Vita memory card. I could buy a 16GB card and keep a few games installed, or spend double or more for a 32GB or 64GB card and not have to worry about having to delete stuff nearly as much.

It's really just personal preference of whether you care more about the convenience of having everything installed at once, or the saving the money it costs to achieve that.

Cant wait. Not watching the video, I can't remeber if I left off on chapter 3 or 4 but at this point I'm just waiting for that to hit so I can wrap it up one evening.

Just watch me play it, boom! Problem Solved!
Maybe if you talk. Though watching you still doesn't earn me trophies.

I picked it up in one of those semi-recent GoHastings sales. I think I paid like $6 for it or so.
WHAT? GoHastings has blown for months, but even then it's at like $13 now so even for 50% off it would be $6.50 plus shipping.

I almost bought it for $17.XX from Amazon a while back. Decided to wait, then just decided to pass on it altogether. Don't try and change my mind by telling me how awesome it is.
It's a really sweet game, it's worth that much for a first playthrough. But with as old as it is it should be $10. It's been less than $10 several times on XBL because they actually have a digital verision of it. fuck ers.

Huge spoilers in that vid if you haven't been keeping up episode to episode. fucking awesome though, can't wait for this.

One of the nice things about using all that space (at least for me) is that I never have to go back and remember - "Hey, did I install that or not?  Do I need to go through my list of downloads and select it again?"

Started playing Tomb Raider a few nights ago. I'm really impressed with the graphics so far. We'll see how the gameplay holds up.

I really liked it, but you're right, it can be a bore at times. The combat needs a serious revamp, but I'm not sure how much better they can make it with the first-person view. I'd love to see the next Elder Scrolls done in default third-person view with a combat system more like Kingdoms of Amalur.
Indeed, after you play something like the Souls game, the combat in Elder's Scroll games is so boring. 1st person isn't the big limiting factor (though it is a part of the bottleneck),

As we got to the tail end of this last generation we had games of up to 20ish GBs in size, that is a trend that is only going to get worse in this new generation (they're 40-50 at the BEGINNING of the generation), especially as the shift from disc to digital purchases becomes more prevalent. Better to make the investment early and not have to mess with transferring data to a new drive when the existing drive gets full of stuff you don't want to delete. If you put in a nicer drive it will also load stuff faster, a few seconds here and there add up over several years.

I have a question guys, what's the best retail PS3 games that aren't on PSN? I'm thinking Dark Souls 1 and the like.
If you would have asked me a month ago I would have said Ratchet and Clank: Crack in Time. but its on there now. I really don't know why Dark Souls 1 isn't on there since 2 is and DS1 is on xbox marketplace. None of the Resistance games are on there. Went looking but can't seem to find a list anywhere of disc only games.

How do I unlock hard mode? {...}
Contrary to what I said earlier about forcing you to play Arkham City twice, I would recommend starting off on normal on Guacamelee to get accustomed to the combat system as hard can be a bit of a drag (which will hamper your enjoyment) if you are not well versed in it. Just think of it as a 6-8 hour tutorial in which you can get good at offense, then when the real game starts on hard you will learn (or perish) how to use all the tricks for defense as you don't have to use too much of it when playing on normal.

Did they fix the HUGE oversight from the original game (only having one save slot) in the PS4 version?

I know I am bringing this back up again, but I went to bed really early last night (on the meds again!) and missed a bunch of posts.

You really like your meat huh? Yankees fans...

Hamburger is not a high quality meat. Its usually plain 80/20 chuck. Sauces and condiments compliment food when done right. And if you have good taste buds you can still get the flavor of the meat along with any of the other toppings. Even quality steak has its own condiments (butter, salt etc).
You can make a nice burger out of good quality meat. You don't have to use the shit that feel off the end of the butchers table.

Sauces and condiments can compliment food, yes. It can also drown out food. More people seem to do the latter than the former.

If PSN had a decent management and sorting system for its download list, I wouldn't be so interested in downloading every game. I have good internet so even the largest games don't take that long to download and I never need to play something immediately (with rare exception). It's just such a pain looking through the download list and seeing stuff like the 100 different DLC items that came with Motorstorm RC and not being able to group those or hide them in some way.

Sony seems so progressive in certain ways and so backwards in others.

Actually I just checked and it was further back then I thought. I ordered on 12/5/13, and it was a 40% off:

Asura's Wrath $7.18

FFXIII-2 $5.70

PoP $2.48

Yakuza 4 $15.81

subtotal 31.17

s/h $9.12. :(

I almost didn't pull the trigger when I saw that shipping. They're so shitty about that.

Devolver is the best, here's all the cool games they publish-

Hotline Miami 1 and 2

Shadow Warrior

Titan Souls

Not A Hero

Always Sometimes Monsters

OlliOlli(for pc and ps4)

Gods Will Be Watching

Luftrausers

Broforce

Foul Play

Talos Principle

The slave slot. Ahhh, home timely.

Last night my 6 year old somehow managed to start a new game and over write my save slot. I was working at climbing the Tula Tree part.

The exact timing for the jumps and switching between dimensions gets pretty frustrating, but I was having fun.

So much for that.

On the hdd talk, I had a 1 TB drive on my PS3 which I got for $75. That summer I smashed my backlog, so when november rolled around, I decided it was worth replacing the PS4 500 GB HDD with the 1 TB one in my PS3. To this day, it worked out perfectly for me.

I know Breakfuss mentioned video captures, but I usually save those if I want to make something in ShareFactory (made two videos, one of BF4 and the Destiny Alpha). I just came to terms that once I finish and plat a game, it must be deleted so I can focus on the ones remaining.

I have a question guys, what's the best retail PS3 games that aren't on PSN? I'm thinking Dark Souls 1 and the like.
Ok, put the list of retail PS3 games on PSN side by side with the list of all PS3 games and these are the ones that stuck out to me that I've either played, purchased to play, or heard as decent to average before.

3D Dot game Heroes (love letter to / parody of, top down zelda games) [customspoiler="trailer"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoFYEtj2tDw[/customspoiler]

Asura's Wrath (or you could just youtube it...)

Bionic Commando (flawed but swing mechanic is fun) [customspoiler="trailer"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VbBHSwl8rA[/customspoiler]

Castlevania: Lord of Shadows (Vampire Slayer...of War)

Condemned 2 (old enough probably not worth playing now)

Dark Souls 1 (Do it) [customspoiler="trailer"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3HdfzC7Shg[/customspoiler]

Devil May Cry 4

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron [customspoiler="trailer"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETzhxzeKokA[/customspoiler]

Elder's Scroll games (if you like that sorta thing)

Fallout games

FEAR ganes

Folklore (out of print so will probably be expensive to buy unless you get lucky) [customspoiler="trailer"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crJrVdeR3ug[/customspoiler]

Ghostbusters: The Video Game (if you are a fan of the films it is enjoyable as they brought back all the original voice cast)

Heavenly Sword [customspoiler="trailer"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YgU6LJ9MeM[/customspoiler]

Lost Planet 1+2 (constantly having to pick up heat is a mechanic I didn't think I would enjoy so I haven't played any of them)

Metal Gear Solid 4 (why is this not on PSN?)

Neverdead [customspoiler="trailer"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjl3AnUmkyQ[/customspoiler]

No More Heroe's: Heroe's Paradise

Resistance games (nobody cares about the EU store, they have a 3 pack which is sometimes bundled with the dual shock 3) [customspoiler="trailer"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1azn7bMKdvg[/customspoiler]

Shadows of the Damned [customspoiler="trailer"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzxXa6UosbU[/customspoiler]

Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection

Spider-man games (I forget which of the 3 are supposed to be good)

Splatterhouse (decent, bloody fun and has the original games as unlockables, featuring the homicidal voice of Tigger) [customspoiler="trailer"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi7Iai7pYd8[/customspoiler]

The Darkness [customspoiler="trailer"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhVcw_53yow[/customspoiler]

Valkyria Chronicles (great strategy RPG) [customspoiler="trailer"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bceYkhQjxGY[/customspoiler]

There's another save slot in Super Champion. DrinkBox even pokes some fun at the problem with the original by popping a bronze trophy ("Next Gen!!") when you start a game in slot 2.

I'd suggest starting on hard and seeing how you do. The combat mechanics aren't too complex. Anyone who's ok at brawlers or fighting games should be fine starting on hard. The boss fights on hard can be a bit tough (Jaguar), but they'll feel even harder coming from normal. There's a big jump. Like from Easy/Casual to Hard, not Normal to Hard.

I just purchased a 64GB card for Vita online and am waiting for it to be delivered. I prefer having instant access to games. Right now I have a nearly full 32GB card. What's the best way to transfer data? Upload the saves to the cloud or use the PS3 and data manager?

I upgraded my PS3 HDD to a 1 TB during Black Friday about a year and a half ago. Best decision I ever made for that console. With all the free PS+ games plus purchases even that's getting filled. I think I have about 125 GB left. When I get a PS4 I'll eventually buy a 1-2TB HDD. Same with my XB1.

Good thing I traded in my Vita, lol. OlliOlli is coming to steam on July 22nd so probably same day for PS4 too, i think we get it for free on PS4 if u got the vita version, which i do.

Yeah, I started the PS3 version on hard, and most of it wasn't too difficult combat-wise. The only two spots I STRUGGLED were Jaguar and then the part where you go through the 3 different floors with the guy with the different outlines (the name of it escapes me). I almost said fuck it and bump it down to normal just to finish the game, but wanted the plat. The platforming for a couple of the orbs is where it was hardest, IMO.

I just made sure to upload all saves to the cloud, deleted all of the games minus PSM games since those saves are tied to the game but can't be backed up as easily as anything else, backed what was left to the Content Manager app on my PC over wifi, and then changed cards and started redownloading my games.
