From everything I've read, TESA comes with separate, non-Steam disc versions of Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion, as well as a single Steam key that activates Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind on Steam.

I just figured as much as MysterD keeps up with DRM stuff and disc-check stuff that he might know whether the disc versions require disc-checks to play, or if they have any other kind of DRM to speak of.

I'd only checked Skyrim before, but I just finished installing Morrowind and it looks like you really don't need to activate that at least on steam, it asked me if I wanted to "register it online" but when I said no it still went on just fine and let me play. The "registering" is probably just giving them your e-mail for survey purposes or whatever lol. no activation limits or online activation during installation as far as I could tell

edit: for clarification's sake the steam key you get also activates all of the dlc for all the games too, but you get discs with individual dlc on them in the box. so if you have a bad internet connection you can install using discs

edit2: as for disc check, yes the disc needs to be in to play Morrowind at least

I'm really disappointed that one community vote on Steam that had Deponia 3 in it lost. I want the last one....but yeah would have preferred it on Steam where I have the previous 2.

I'm kinda interested in the Settlers games. It doesn't really look like the sort of thing where you need more than one of them, though.

Anybody have any experience with them? Is there one that stands out above the others?

 
There's also a somewhat peculiar glitch (or at least, I'm guessing it's not on purpose) with regards to gifting individual games from bundles. I noticed earlier today that when I selected the Dungeons & Dragons pack to double check how much NWN2 complete was running by itself in the bundle (since I already own everything else in it), it brought me to the forced gift pack dialogue, where I could select and deselect games without affecting the full 80% discount price. I'm guessing it was because I was on Mac OS at the time, and NWN2 (on GOG, anyway) isn't Mac-compatible.

I'm guessing from this, and I could be totally off, but if you already own everything in a given bundle that is compatible with the OS you're checking GOG from, assuming that anything in that bundle is compatible with the OS in question, you may be able to buy individual gifts from that pack at the full discount.

Not that this would have a ton of applications, but I thought it was worth mentioning, at least.

I asked this same question the first time this bundle came around but I can't remember if anybody played the games and/or had a preference.

 
Yeah, sorry. The Settlers bundle is part of the 5% of games that I don't own on GOG.

Fellow CAG Jimbodan listed the bundle as part of his haul over on the steam thread. I've seen that guy posting before, but I don't really know him well enough to feel comfortable asking him to help with buying a game. And even if I did, I wouldn't know which game to ask for.

If you're really desperate though, you might wanna consider bugging asking him.

Been playing through King of Dragon Pass...  Have to say there is ALOT to this game....  but I am not going to bother reading the instructions....  It is pretty fun.  I like the little stories that pop up from time to time.  Seems to shape your story pretty well.  Right now I have 3 alliances, and quite a few feuds.  Why grow crops if you can steal them?  $1.49 well spent.

On the other hand - I have serious buyers regret on Papers Please.  A TERRIBLY boring game.  It has zero story to speak of...  The story that is there is worthless.  That was $2.99 that was basically flushed down the toilet.  HATE the game.  

This is the downside to PC gaming...  When you find something that you hate...  you can't flip it.  You just eat the cost.

I tend to agree with you there. Papers Please was so highly spoken of, but I found the controls to be pretty frustratingly slow and it made the game much more difficult to play than it needed to be.

I spent about an hour or so with it before I just gave up on it as well.

You were smarter then me... I probably played 3 hours of it. My kids were watching and helping me find the mistakes in the passports. But even then they were like... umm... why are we doing this?
