TT made progress with stuttering? lol I played episode 1 and it didn't seem like it. I was going to wait for these to possibly be ported to PS4 in hopes of improved performance but now that it's here I don't know if I can holdout. Wish TT did cross-buy.

I assumed it was because of cross buy for something like Guacamelee. I could add ps3 but not vita.

But other things I've read have given me the impression that I should be selecting each of these items

separately (vs only ps3 as crossbuy).

I don't have any issues with games that are vita only. Unfortunately a lot of these ps+ games end up as backlog because I'm

trying to get through physical games first so I haven't attempted to download much.

It is because they're Cross Buy, as the other versions are added to your download list automatically. It's done that way to prevent you from buying things twice.

Episode 4 had pretty much no issues at all. It was great to play an episode without any freezing or stuttering at all.

Also according to weekly sales numbers. Consoles are super-struggling in Japan, handhelds are doing much better. PS4 also basically has zero games that appeal to Japanese gamers that aren't also on PS3.

Also, the Vita development pipeline being filled with terrible Japanese games is not a good thing.

I felt like I was playing season 1 of TWD again during some of the fight sequences. It was lovely to see a stutter, then see yourself get hit, then see the button you were supposed to press come up.

Just felt like adding on to this.

Japan seems to be going the way of handheld's, smartphones and tablets more than they would consoles. Granted, there's nothing really there for people to play on the PS4 in Japan, like tyler already said. Even America is seeing more and more kids/teenagers who would rather play on a tablet or smartphone than they would traditional video games. (handheld, console or otherwise). I think the consensus is that people keep holding out on purchasing a Vita because it happens to be fulfilling that Japanese/Niche titles for the system more so than they are for games like Borderlands 2.

Don't get me wrong, I'm interested in Tales of Heart R, Conception II and Sword Art Online, but I don't exactly see myself playing any of the other titles coming out for if they haven't already piqued my interest. That being said, I haven't really purchased any of those new Japanese/Niche titles out for the system like Mind Zero or what I previously had said.

...you do realize that this thread covers 3 consoles, right? Granted I'd thought it was already being released on PS4 and Vita, but they were both announced long enough ago and the posts/news about the series is constant enough due to the episodic nature that it's an understandable assumption, I think.

That's where I'm playing them. I'd thought there'd been some discussion at some point about the PS4 version of either TWD or TWAU using a new engine that fixed a lot of the framerate issues. Maybe that was just S2 on PS3, though.

That's why I'm waiting to play S1-2 of TWD and TWAU on PS4, at least until we know for sure if the engine is a noticeable improvement.

The TellTale games are all janky even on super high end gaming PC's. There's a problem with the engine that's not going to be solved by moving TWD or TWAU from PS3 to PS4.
 
Whew... this is a SLOW week, huh, in terms of both new releases and sales?

Wouldn't it make sense for Sony to offer a substantial sale now, during the summer when new releases are scarce, especially AAA releases?  Steam just ended their big summer sale, apparently MS's current sale is good (I haven't looked at the list myself as I don't own a MS console), and Sony's "summer sale" was pretty lackluster...

Not that I need to buy ANY games right now with my backlog, but... :)

If I hadn't already gotten KZ and sold it soon after for $30 I would be on that. That game is worth $10-$15 of fun, I'd wait for another sale if anyone wants to try it out.

Everything they've been working is on the same engine they have used since Sam & Max S1, so the new PS4 & Xbox One engine they've made should increase performance and visual quality for PC and the new consoles if they did a good job.
 
This place is super whack now. Like I said yesterday, most of the regs quit posting here only to prove a point. That thread is an exact copy of this one. I can't entirely blame them, but it's silly. This thread will obviously die out (for the time being) if that's what people want to see happen.

None of us would have met had there been some secret PSN thread tucked away in the dark recesses of off-topic. What's funny are the people who hardly posted before and now are all like, "fuck yeah community!". Please, haha.

I started Valiant Hearts last night. Fell asleep. Again, I know i (I KNOW) it's partly my fault for playing so late but that's not entirely it, lol. As much as I love dat ubiart these last two games have been borrrring. It doesn't help that WWI remains one of the most pointless conflicts (IMO) in history.

But, no, seriously...the puzzles are super simple. And the story, while apparently inspired by true events, feels like something pulled out of Rocky and Bulwinkle. It's silly. Which is weird because the backdrop is so somber. To be fair, though, I have not finished so maybe I'll understand what people are raving about after getting further.

I do like the music and voice acting. The art direction goes without saying.

(sigh) Why can't we all just be friends-ish?  Even with everyone gone, this thread goes off topic.  It's just the nature of forums and discussions in general.  And frankly, Sony is sucking on sales lately if no ones noticed.

It is not the nature of the PSN thread! The PSN thread is to be split like Kirk in The Enemy Within! We may some day be rejoined into one whole, albeit humanly flawed, Kirk, but that will require a transporter and Scotty to fix it!

I don't know that I'd agree with that, as I have a mid-grade PC and have rarely run into any issues playing TWAU.

Is anyone ever able to pick up partners online for MGS Peace Walker? I was about to start on it but online seems kinda dead...i dunno...might have to skip that game.

Back when I last played Peace Walker 2-3 months ago, it was a bit dead. You are still able to find other sessions available but the max I found while playing online was like 5. It just depends mostly on when you are logging on. Peace Walker is still an enjoyable game when playing solo.
