Reason for the poll is that (as you can see) I think this last generation (PS3/360/Wii) will go down as the best console generation in my mind. I want to see what everyone else thinks.
I went the hipster route and picked NES. I still play quite a few games on the NES every once in awhile.

Yeah I eventually turned off the sound and the whole idea of being stuck to the wall and the way that works was unique. Agreed about the combat. Yeah this is not a game I would go out and recommend to anyone who doesn't already have it from plus, but it's another game scratched off the backlog.

Not a fan of the duck face at all.

Is Rock of Ages any good? It has been in the backlog for so long, I may just have to finally bite the bullet and start it. Next up though for the PlayStation 3 is God of War 1.
Oh yeah we got it for Plus, huh? I actually bought Sideways. Dumb move. Though I think I got it with some special sale with Rochard and like $5 back or something.

I am the only one that voted Genesis and SNES, TurboGraphx was cool too but I wasnt rich enough to own it. I voted with my heart since thats when I played the most games and had no other responsibilities.

Cool, that's the point of this poll.

Nintendo 64 was always my #1 favorite console before this generation, and if it wasn't for this gen I'd vote for Gen 5 because that's when I was an all-out gamer.

Yea we dont want any fake plastic surgery chicks with daddy issues here, ok? Only nice smart gamer girls, oh and Jewish girls are a huge plus too, and spanish.

Well yeah, but even then you still seem to gravitate to the sorority chick super stuck up fake-looking type.

Not that there's anything wrong with it, but it's easy to see your type.
Honestly, thats not my type. I tend to like brunettes. I just like to read this site and its geared towards college guys so thats the only thing they post really. But I do like the stupid pouty look or whatever you call it.

I know I'm way late to the party on this, especially because the beta just got taken down until Wednesday, but here are two more Destiny beta codes if anyone wants them.  If no one here needs/wants them, I'll post them over in what so many of you call "the other thread," so please post if you use one of them.

Voucher Code for PS4: 9RBT-3BNJ-5QFC
Voucher Code for PS3: 59MN-89N6-GBQB

Oh yay, too much makeup on a duck face, my favorite.

It's not terribly refined, but it's enjoyable. It's like if Monty Python made Monkey Ball and then decided to throw in some tower defense elements because why not? If you can get into the silliness of it all you should have a decent time.

anybody have an opinion on the PS3 version of Arkham Origins?  I beat it on 360 at launch but both 360/PS3 versions are $6.xx at Target this week if you PM Amazon and do the $15 off preorder promo.  Thinking about the PS3 version for some trophies (and i have AC on Plus)  but I own AA and AC on 360 and kinda want to round out the collection there...

I think I just started a bigger project than I expected in my backlog for alternate game. I wanted to see if Battlefantasia had a story mode, which it does and it appears to be one for every character. At least it will be a nice little break from when I don't feel like playing other games. Each story comes with a trophy too.

I don't think I could ever put myself through that again. I hardly play any game twice, but if I did Batman AO would not be my first choice. If you enjoyed it, sure. Here the devs said they aren't fixing several game breaking bugs with it... http://www.gamespot.com/articles/batman-arkham-origins-has-no-plans-to-fix-several-game-breaking-bugs/1100-6417619/ so if you got through the 360 version fine, you may want to avoid the PS3 copy. Still the choice is in your hands.

Way late on this, but my top 5:

Rocksmith                    5311

Uncharted 3                4781

Last of Us                    4204

3D Dot Game Heroes  3512

Bioshock Infinite           3409

My Xbox ones are way more impressive, IMO.  For example, my #5 game on TA, Beatles: Rock Band, would be 4341 TT points.

Well...accidentally exited out of a match in Battlefantasia and it started me from the beginning of this character's story... This will permanently be a 0 on my trophy list.

Whoops, too young, j/k.
No j/k. She really is too young. :shame:

Target has another $15 pre-order deal going? Haven' seen anything about it. :(

Oh...looks like select games only?

Yeah that's not douchey at all. Thanks for the heads up. If there are any other issues with the poll (or any other poll) feel free to let me know.

I also didn't really know what consoles constituted the 1st and 2nd generation.
Two issues I'm seeing:

1. On the 7th generation, you seem to be missing the U after Wii.

2. On the 6th generation, you didn't include the Wii at all.

SNES/GEN all the way. Soooooo many good games, and a lot of them still hold up well today.

wtf is going on here with ya'll..I'd fuck that and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.

I don't even know what the question is here to be honest..you know better than anyone if you liked it enough to play the same game on a similar system.

Its never too young, especially these days, a 13 year old can look like a 23 year old
Ummm..

From the older gens, I think that generation's games hold up the best. I love N64 games but there's a lot of them that are just tough to look at and/or play, especially with that controller. Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are basically unplayable to anyone who's played any modern FPS.

Reason I choose this gen is because of all the advancements that come with this generation. It's the first gen to firmly establish online play. Being able to patch and update your game is another great advancement I think, though a lot of developers abuse this now. Ditto with DLC, but the original idea behind the concept of DLC was really cool. The rise of smaller indie games is also huge to me, and the Achievement/Trophy system I think is really cool.

Plus, ya know, tons of amazing games.

Voted for 6th generation, even though I wasn't into gaming a whole lot then. The PS2 was bombarded with great releases and has a good argument for best library ever.

Played a little more Hitman 2 today, and I think it's starting to click with me. I think my strategy from here on out is to take a few minutes to explore each level and come up with a plan first, then restart the mission and try to execute that plan.

If i looked like a bodybuilder, than i would smash that girl.....hard!
but since you don't you would just fumble around your pockets awkwardly looking for a piece of gum to offer her and you would come up empty. In an effort to avoid further embarrassment you'd hand her the only thing in your pocket - your house key - and walk away mumbling something like 'have a nice... house of... pretty' and then break into a sprint.
