My top (Steve required) nodes are giving 1400 or so points. Pretty easy battles with enemies in the 60s. One node has maggia guys in the 90s or 100s for a 1000 points. I can usually beat that one...

But even with 30,000+ points I'm still only in like 500th place.... Bad bracket? Did I start playing too late?

When did you actually begin the event? I started Sunday night (48 hours after the event began) and I am at about 40k and am bouncing between #15-#40

None of my nodes yield even close to that amount. I dont get any nodes over 400... wtf haha

Ha. I have his purple, but haven't kicked it off in this event once because my goal is to never let a countdown go off, period. Since most of these goons make blue, I'm using OBW's purple to keep Redwing in play when I need to use blue.

Considering there are 1000 people in a bracket, yeah, you must be stuck behind some rubberbanders/grinders/both. That sucks.

I'm just over 40k and rank #77, and top spot is 4k ahead of me. How many points does the top player in your bracket have?

When I sit down to play, I usually have two or three nodes at 1k+. Once I beat one or two, they start falling fast into the 500-800 range, then it's a typical grind down until I run out of risk/reward options.


Noticed there are a few of you shlubs haven't put up any points in the PvP. Schlubs, I say!

I'm shielded at #5 in the Cap tournament, teetering on losing placement. I'm going to be happy with two covers if I fall down into the next bracket, as my goal was top 25. Ended up coming into work three hours early for a rollout that was aborted, so had some quiet time when not a lot of people are playing. Shot from 300 to 900 with only one incoming attack, so figured I'd inch up into top 5 before holding and not getting greedy for a safe #2 or #3. So, playing between 7 and 9 eastern seems to be a good push time.

Wow. that is a nice bracket to be in. Mine is like elder, 30-40k is nothing. I am trying to climb up in the pvp right now. Top 100 is at least 800.

I was going to play a few quick ones right before it ends to at least get something but seeing as I have my Black Panther maxed and have sold about 5 extra covers for him now AND have him as a Daily Resupply in a few days, my motivation to even participate in this one is extremely low haha. Now if the upcoming BP tourney has better rewards I will be all over that!

That is what you get when you take over two days to join! You get in with the low scorers : D

My general rule of thumb has lately been if the event is to last 3-4 days to wait around 18 hours before getting in, 5-6 days, jump in one day late and then 6+ jump in two days late.

Using that general rule I seem to always get into noticeably better brackets than most of us hah

So you are saying that most pvp events to jump in 18 hrs rather than seeding it with a tank team at the very beginning? Man my boosted steve just saved me - spamming red and blue helps, then once you pop that yellow...its impossible for them to hurt you.

I was talking about PvE haha

No PvP I jump in usually with around 3-6 hours left and just power house through!

 
Top player in my bracket at 45,000. So why am I in 400th place with 33,000? Odd.

Well, at least I've gotten a few Steve covers out of this. I do see the usage of him now,  his blue move is pretty impressive.

It doesn't stack, though. (If you've already stunned a character, stunning them again doesn't add two more turns)

There are just tons of people super closely grinding it seems in this event!

Steve's blue is amazing since it not only stuns but then turns into a really strong defense tile AND you get the ap back. Same goes with red but instead of a defense tile it has a chance to cause a cascade. Not to mention I think his is the most powerful base red move in the game for direct damage? Someone correct me if I am wrong but I cannot think of anyone with a more powerful red.

Got roped into a meeting and didnt get back until 11:57. Played one quick match in the PvP to add to my 3 from before the meeting and I finished at 109. Womp. Could have gotten more ISO and some HP if I was able to play one more to get to #100

New nodes appear to be up for me in the PvE as well.... My highest possible node is 533 points. Wtf. Why are mine all so low?!

ANDDDDDDDD Sentry is the BP PvP reward. You seriously cannot troll me harder MPQ.

Punisher's Red is pretty heavy damage.

That is true his CAN do really high damage, I always forgot about him.... because as you all know I hate him haha : P. But that is in certain situations when the opponents health is already low. Steve can blast anyone at any time for a quick ~3.5K.

 
Wrong way to tank. Now I have to lose 28 times to break even.

Im in the same boat, top player has 50K & Im at 37K. SO 50k gets you #1, 37k gets you #534....kinda BS to me.

Funny I can move the Alliance up, with a couple nodes but I cant make any headway in the single player rankings. Which is more BS.

I jumped into the Steve tourney & got top 400 for the 2 standard tokens, which got me crap anyways. Didnt need the BP covers, & now the BP tourney has Sentry. Eh I guess I could give a crap, I need the covers but meh.

 
I really don't feel like pushing really hard tonight, this event is stupid hah.

I know it is going to be a pain to get top 20 and for the Alliance to keep top 100. We are so close though I am of course going to and hope for the best!

My shining star is that Steve is now almost 140!!!

 
There's no way I can reach 20, but I'm going to be pushing for 50 for sure. My phone is charging right now for a big run during my lunch break. Then again after work, and again before the event ends.

Lord knows I never stick to my plans, though.

Hahah yeah I plan to play randomly throughout the day a match or two and then during my train ride home. Then a final push an hour or so before it ends.

I am getting sick so I wont be going lifting or anything tonight so that frees up some time I suppose but tonight I really wanted to play the Destiny Beta and Dark Souls 2 some more. Plus there were a couple animations I wanted to work on. Stupid time, I could sure use more of it.

Yet you mention nothing of Hearthstone! I'm through the Arachnid Quarter, and pretty pumped that I beat Heroic Maexxna on my 2nd attempt last night.

Hahah I really liked it but for some reason it didn't sink its teeth in me for the long run. I still go back and play here and there!

Realistically I don't play games at all anymore. Tuesday was the first day in a LONG while that I actually just came home from work, stripped to my underwear and just laid on my couch and gamed almost all day hahah. Otherwise I get maybe 2-3 hours of actual console or pc gaming in a week.

My schedule is just too damn busy lately. Has been for over a year and will continue to be until June 2015! And if all goes well I will be super busy then until August 2015 or so as well! bah!

I didn't realize it ended tonight. I am hoping for top 50, but the late end time always screws me.

 
There's no way I can earn a cover on my own, but I'll at least push the alliance towards one. Unfortunately I'll be at work when the event ends. I'll try to time my second break around that.

 
I really regret spending all that ISO on my 4-star X Force Wolvie. The guy's useless. (I kept getting free covers for him, so I pushed his level up into the 100s.)

His yellow takes way too long to activate (the AI never sets a timer for theirs, it just activates). The strike tiles do very little, and the only attack takes too long to charge.

Then again, I'm not a fan of any of the wolverine variations in MPQ either.

2* Wolverine was the best. Patch at high levels can be excellent. X-Force just sucks though hahaha Sorry!

My buddy, Juggernaut in the Alliance, has done the same with his X-Force and I have no idea why.

If you run Patch with Hulk and CMags, all at 166 with Patch in the middle on the character select screen, his red move would be devastating. Hulk would take black, and Mags would take blue. Patch would take every other color. With his healing, it takes a long time to bring him down.

In the instance I mentioned, it would actually be important, because he deals the same damage on green and red as hulk, and yellow and red for Mags. The wrong placement could actually render his 'The Best There Is' move worthless.

I now officially cannot complete this event due to Broly's sick and demented man handling.

I have X-force yellow at 5 now I think....So 7 turn countdown for true healing.....If he's ever fighting OBW, then thats one countdown thats never healing shit..... Oh look it got matched on the first enemy turn....hmmm...

I feel personally responsible for the top 100 placement. When I play, I get us up into the 80s. When I don't, we fall into the 100s. It's really the rubber-banding, but I like to feel important.

My Steve is at 140 right now, with only one yellow cover missing. A complete beast when he's boosted.

Trying to decide whether to drop some ISO on BP for the tourney or save it for more Steve levels.

Most events used to end at noon or midnight eastern for me, and this one is at midnight. I think the PvPs have been ending an hour later on the 1s.

You know, I used to skip Patch fights, but now I find him kind of squishy when the AI plays him. Kill off his partners until you get a big damage power ready, or can get someone like Doom rolling 1k+ damage per turn to offset healing.

Still, I think he's the best version of Wolverine, just don't have a lot of covers for him.

You know, I used to skip Patch fights, but now I find him kind of squishy when the AI plays him. Kill off his partners until you get a big damage power ready, or can get someone like Doom rolling 1k+ damage per turn to offset healing.

Hahah I know I feel the same way with the Alliance ranking!

I say finish powering Steve up. Black Panther is good but I would prefer Steve over him and it isn't like you are really itching for more Sentry covers I bet anyway.

I handle Patch the same way. As soon as I get a strong attack ready it goes right on him, otherwise I never even touch him until then haha

 
So I have decided that if the rest of the events moving forward feel like this last one I think I am done with this game.

This one has not been fun AT ALL for me. The enemies are shit, the nodes are garbage and the ridiculous grind/terrible brackets are just too much.

I am really hoping this is a one time deal.

My bracket wasn't that bad but each time I play the new nodes I'm facing off against goons that are 100+ already. This doesn't include the few times I get creamed by lvl 80 people because I can only match those worthless environment tiles. Didn't realized how bad the rubber banding is until I played few rounds on my son's account. Takes me about an hour to get 10k on his account when it almost takes a day to do it on my account. Been top 20 until yesterday when I had to drive back from my conference so hovering around top 50 right now with 0 health kits.

 
I'll have all my nodes at full points with about an hour and a half to go with full health packs... but my enemies will ALL be in the upper 100-lower 200's. Not looking forward to that grind. I don't want to look back in the thread, but does anyone remember if this is the same event that I finished first for our alliance and didn't even make the top 100 in my bracket?

I dont know. Sure arent finishing first this time though : P

I am at 61134 right now and will have everyone at full health with 4 Health packs with an hour left.

But yeah we really need to push as an Alliance or else we are not getting the reward. We have been so close the whole event but now we are like #120 or something ridiculous!

Did you keep top 20? I finished in 8th in my bracket. Would've needed to beat the Rag/Venom node twice to get top 3. At level 314 each... wasn't even going to try.

 
The key for me was that I very rarely took damage in any of the all minion nodes, so I could complete those with relative ease. With CMag's blue being able to replace any tile, and the same with Steve's red, and Punisher's green doing random destruction when the other two didn't have the colors needed, I could pretty much lock down the board whenever I needed to. That, and being able to start playing with just over an hour left with all nodes just returning to full point status were huge.

3/5/5 is the way to go with Steve hands down. His yellow is AMAZING but takes too long to pull it off.

His blue and red are great standbys and as I was reminded last night, if he is the lone surviving character on your team, with those two colors you can win the match still. Takes a while but you get it done haha.

But yeah fuck this event. Sentry is garbage on my team anyway so I wont be doing much PvP soon either. Glad to take a little break from this game since this lame event.
