And now we know why you have been arrested. Sorry man but thats just dumb and may have been what got this kid killed. And what gets other kids killed and then cops get a bad name. Its never ending until someone shows their the better man. Why not make that man be you?

Of course OP: Pirate Warriors 2 is cheaper in this sale than it was when I downloaded it (~$12? I can't remember). ToSC for $7.50 is the only really noteworthy deal IMO, but I own it physically already and nothing interests me otherwise. Thanks for the heads-up and link, though.

I woke up this morning and my fridge wasn't running. Internal thermometer says "Fridge is too warm" but for some reason it doesn't kick on. Everything inside was still plenty cold. I just went to work and said fuck it, but it better be fucking working. I don't want to get home to a bunch of warm ruined food in my 7 day old fridge!

I've never been arrested for disrespecting a cop. Always unrelated charges. I never disrespected a cop for doing his job and arresting me when I was breaking the law.

I'm curious about Ken's Rage and Hakuoki, but now nothing about them and they're both too high anyway. Otherwise I have everything I'd possibly be interested in.

this is the thing I don't necessarily get (not to be picking on you today), but who cares if a cop is treating you with respect? what is there to prove? have you ever heard of a situation where lashing out or even saying 'hey, try to be more respectful' has ever made a police encounter go better? do you think he goes home at night and is all 'ya know, that dude was right. starting tomorrow, I'm going to change my attitude.'?

I get the idea of self respect and standing up for yourself and all, but I think all that shit's wasted on the people who get paid for law enforcement. they just don't have to respect you and you can't actually make them.

meh. I'm starting to annoy myself now.

Pretty much this. Of course it's a lost cause, but I won't just sit and take repeated disrespect. That goes for all people, not just law enforcement.

The way you worded that, it seems that you blame the people mouthing off for getting shot and they are also to blame for why cops get a bad name. I hope that's not the case.

The books are well worth reading. I found the first 100 pages difficult to get into (this was before the show) but once it clicked it was one of my favorite all time reads. And if you've seen the show, I think it would be easier to get into since you're not trying to wrap your head around names, families, etc, and you already know/like characters. My wife was put off by the books because she had trouble keeping everyone straight, but she loves the show now.

The book adds a lot. The show does a great job and I love it too, but I can't wait to get around to re-reading all of the books once the next one comes out.

Every time I finished a book I was so glad I had a bunch in front of me. Finishing the last one was a sad day.

Yeah I think I was about 100 pages into the first when I decided to start the show. Hearing that makes me think I will pick up where I left off and try to get through the books. Thanks for pointing that the books pick up a bit.

 
nice to see that they're willing to discount JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. more importantly, I'm glad to see that amazon has dumped the price down to 37.88 for the physical copy (amazon is the only retailer for the US version in case you didn't know). you can still put 999 in for the qty so I'm cool to wait, I just thought this would be one of those games.

The Hakuoki games are supposed to be pretty entertaining but just know that they're visual novels so your level of what constitutes a game/what you expect from a game will be important going into it.

I really enjoyed my time with it, plus it has a really easy platinum compared to other fighters. The best thing about it, though, is the incredible attention to detail and atmosphere of the source material. I can't wait for Viz's release of the first two manga series (Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency) next year.

Cops as a whole are hated because of the one off idiots that shoot unarmed kids like the one in St Louis. But the one off idiots are always around because we have people that want to talk back to them. The man with the gun. Again, its just not smart.

My point is that there are idiots everywhere, but cops have guns so we need to respect them even if we dont want to. WHY? BECAUSE THEY COULD KILL YOU.

I have a problem brushing off stuff like that and walking away, and I'll admit it's usually the wisest decision. I've toned down alot the past 4 years or so, but it's still a work in progress. I'm not perfect. I tend to let things bother me more than they should.

Try to get some slashes in while running from him on the ground and after his occasional dashes while running around the room in a circular motion (I preferred counter-clockwise) and dodging the flames he leaves behind. Make each "lap" take as long as possible to hasten the extinguishing of the flames from your last circuit. Don't forget (like I did :oops:) that you can Shout with Triangle to immediately eliminate every fireball on screen, but note that you can only use it three times and you can't replenish your MP.

He was the toughest Remix boss for me (20+ tries), but keep at it.

It's because she's a defenseless girl and since she posts in here, they "know" her. I laughed at the guy who said he was totally down to ridicule celebrities but it's a totally different story with Equis.

But again, as others have said, there is a huge difference between 'showing disrespect' to a cop / 'mouthing off' to a cop and being fucking shot by a cop. We should not have to live in fear that words can lead to bullets when speaking to a police officer.

C'mon. That's pure blaming the victim. A kid (maybe) mouths off, gets shot, and then it's somehow the kid's fault cops get a bad name? If cops are shooting unarmed kids because one mouthed off, then that cop was clearly near breaking point and has quite possibly been doing other aggro stuff that wasn't 'newsworthy'. Ultimately, if they're shooting unarmed people they deserve the bad name.

I wish we lived in a world where cops walk the streets, saying hello to passerby and helping the community. And to be fair, that does happen. But to ignore the militarization of our police force -- especially given the number of returning vets that may have ptsd that become cops, is a dangerous mistake.

There is a reason it's sage advice to never, ever call the cops to your home.

There's no right or wrong answer to anything, yet everyone is so sure their side is right.  It's honestly not worth even talking about.  I pray it doesn't go on for 10 more pages.

I definitely agree there's no way to know what happened here until vid comes out or something. But this incident is not isolated, and there are a metric shit ton of dog shootings / home raids gone wrong / etc. that don't make mainstream news if you follow community/police relations closely. I used to. I don't anymore. It's ridiculously depressing reading about dogs being killed and families getting messed up.

I always try to make a point in saying "could have" when talking about why the cop shot the kid.

EDIT: but people that think every cop is dirty always say they know for sure the cops are in the wrong.
