I've got a few of those I need to get rid of as well. Why does anyone use Moonstone? Ugh.

In top 50 for BW tournament. Hoping for top 25 and two spidey covers. I'm neglecting the Hulk event for now.

 
I really want to see team ups get to a place where they actually benefit the players. Only once has the tu saved my butt, that was with that Daredevil story above.
Working my way to the heroic 10 pack, I've played lots of battles & I've learned team ups just cripple the player not the computer.
If I have great team ups, sure it helps, issue is Im loaded with crap I can't use: control shift, murderous aim or stuff that's so expensive I can never unload: ballistic salvo, sentinel of liberty. However the computer can unload as many team ups as they want & when they want. Sometimes they drop team ups without any animations & sometime they do double damage by unleashing team ups with characters already on their teams. It's a broken system they should've fully tested before they implemented.

As for my heroic 10 pack. I had 30 points left last night, no health packs left, all my 3*s exhausted. I should've went to bed. Not me, I bought the 5 health packs, for one final battle & got my 10 pack. Only useful things were a purple Spider-Man & a black johnny. The only other gold token was a Loki. To add insult to injury I bought a daily deal to. So 300 dropped to get a worthless 10 pack, mpq you win again. At least we made it to green hulk covers again in the event, woo?

Made top 100 which got me a yellow & heroic 10 pack got me a purple. Now I have a useable Spider-Man after He's almost worthless! I wanted top 25 for those covers but looks like I ended up with them another way.
Now he's at 2 yellow, 5 blue, 5 purple I think that was his skill set, unsure so I just write it that way (since I'm on my phone).
Do I want to level him up though? That's the real question.

Debatable. Power-wise, levels only help his yellow and purple, and both a negligible.

When he's boosted, he's a beast. I have him at level 130, and Pete and Frank are smoking fools left and right (with a little help from Parker Robbins). Pop off a green, and the tile damage is crazy. Plus, he heals fast.

Unboosted, he's 'okay'. He would work best on a team that needs either stuns or is powering a purple power with limited defensive moves (like a Black Widow or Magneto variant). He cannot stand toe-to-toe with the top tier characters without a seriously lucky board. There's no direct damage and you aren't going to keep blue rolling. Even boosted, when I get hosed by a Supernova and he's the only one left, it's a slog to finish the match.
 
Just got two  spidey covers from the 10 pack. And a 4-star Red Wolverine. (Which I already have at 5. And regret spending all that ISO on)

But you're right, he is just for defense. If he's the last character standing you dont have any chance of winning the match.

 
So, this is what I get for saying Spidey is great boosted.

I just got lucky cascade team wiped five times in a row. I have never been this angry at the game for as far as I can remember. Every Godlike set up a cascade, many of which had 5 matches. And when I finally get a breather to see if my battered remnants can rally? Freakin' Supernova from the depths of Team Up Hades.

I am going to be so happy when they take Sentry out of the Team Up rotation. I don't mind World Rupture, but Supernova is ridiculous every time.
 
Ok so I know I am late to the party but does anyone have any tips for building a better team ? I tried playing some PvP during the current even but after the first three battles I get paired against nothing but teams of characters that are all level 50 or higher .. some in the hundreds. Not sure how I am supposed to win those when all my cards are under level 3.

All of the below is assuming you do not wish to invest real money into the game (which most of us don't recommend until you know for sure what you're doing and whether you want to stick with it).

If you are that low in level, my suggestion would be to work through the prologue episodes. You'll get some much needed covers, ISO and HP. As events come up, join them with the expectation that you'll come in last place, and be pleasantly surprised if you do better. Even last place rewards will be of benefit to you. And sometime soon, you'll stop placing last and earning real rewards. Note also that if you can load up the nodes as soon as an event starts, you will get super easy seed teams that you should be able to beat on even at your level.

Focus on a decent character or two over spreading out the levels. Iron Man is a good candidate at the star level you are at. 1* Hawkeye and 1* Black Widow, not so much (but hey, if you like them, it's your game!). If you were able to grab the free Hulk in the event that just finished, it will be tempting to build around him, and that's not a bad idea, if for no other reason than his ability to tank. However, don't expect to get the second cover soon.

You are quickly going to be in a situation where you need to either invest in roster slots or decide who to drop from the team. So plan accordingly. Keep in mind that the money you receive from selling characters back is based on level, not number of covers. So a level 1 Hawkeye with 5 power covers sells for 80% less than if you sold each cover individually.

Lastly, join an alliance, even just some random one. You might be kicked out, but try another one and another one until you stick. Just being in an alliance increases your rewards. I don't know how active CAGsual Slacks is these days, but maybe Kerig can find a spot for you. Broly can get pretty cranky if you aren't pulling your weight in CAGvengers ( :twisted:), but if you are enjoying the game and start seeing some positive results from your efforts, we can always kick a random to see how well you fit in.

Other than all that, the OP has some links on getting started in the game. I don't know if they have been kept up to date, but they're probably still valuable resources.

That's the yellow. Purple is the one that does damage then drops a countdown tile that steals AP and leaves a strike tile.

I have needed one more green to max out my Torch for a couple months now haha So I am happy that Green is the lowest Tier this time around. I can just hop in the last hour or two and snatch that probably.

 
I have a maxed 1* Iron Man as a 'just in case' character.

This loaning team ups thing is weird. They really just needed their UI person to add a button or something on the alliance page. Took me a minute to figure out how to lend out. Apparently, you can only lend to people who have asked for them - no random spamming Bag-Man team ups. You can only ask for them when you have less than 20 team ups, it becomes an option from that screen before a battle. With only two requests out in the chat, it already looks spammy, and I don't see a way to abort your request or lend yourself a team-up. So, if someone could dump a bunch of crap team ups on me, thanks.

You can only lend out three characters at a time. Also, interestingly, the amount of time you lose the character is based on which order you do it - first character is gone for 16 hours, the second for 12, and the third for 8.

But hey, deletes work!

I used to have Maxed 1*s Iron man & storm used to be awesome before they added all the 3*s.

So all my presents today, 2 standard, 4 heroics, and a butt ton of ISO & HP; looks like only things good I got was iso & HP.

Loki is now my gold troll pull, I got another Loki, this will be my second in less than 2 days. My other Gold was a IM40, which wouldve been great, had it been blue. Red, no can use :( At least I got a 3* Human Torch black from a standard token, that was fun.

No events going on, did the first stage of the prologue for daily the daily rewards, that was cool to kill a stage in 2 moves without powers.

So in the same vein, Comicon is still going on in Quahog for Family Guy. Stan Lee is the last "normal" celebrity I have to obtain & I still have 2 of the fabulous 4 to get: Blobulous & The Multiplier. Since I didnt get that far in Simpsons Tapped out, Im curious are drop rates horrible for characters actions? I need 2 ice cream sundaes to create Blobulous & no matter what actions I do they never drop. Its "super rare" if they do, but damn Id never figure 2 more items would take weeks for the chance.

OOps, sorry for the thread derailment, there's just nothing going on in MPQ right now, than that 1 tournament.

 
Updating now, only because I want to delete 75% of my team ups. Moonstone and Bullseye are more worthless than a Knight with a sword in Hero Academy.  

Speaking of, anyone else play? Now that I have the Gold Pack on Steam unlocked, I'm eager to try out more of the teams.

Hahah I told you they are terrible for damage! There are a few select scenarios where their knock back helps but it isnt for damage, only to setup.

Speaking of, my games with both you and Koju are shit hahah I am doing bad in quite a few of them and I hate the freaking Tribe and I always seem to get them!

I've started three random games since I unlocked the goods, and each time, I got the Shaolin. Needless to say, I went and completed their challenges immediately. Still not sure how their combo system works.

You find out if you have Frozen Synapse?

Shaolin and the Dark Elves have the most variety I feel like with their mechanics. Nothing really beats the sheer destructive power of the Dwarfs though.

And I actually completely forgot about Frozen Synapse haha. I have been trying to selling tons of crap and figure out a way to get a PS4 and I finally did last week so my free time when in my apt is either that or my final for my summer class. I will try to remember tonight! haha

Thanks for the info. I guess for my lowly decks I didn't do too bad on the last event. Managed to get the two star Captain America and three Heroic tokens I haven't used yet.

I checked the casual CAG group and its full. Anyone else have an alliance that is accepting of newer players ?
 
yeah, cag casual group needs to expand. (I can pony up a few hundred HP if that's what is needed)

Can't seem to get the update to install. keeps telling me it was a 200 mb download. After I freed up 400 mb of space, then it told me there wasn't enough room to install, and I'm back to the warning about storage space running out.

 
The new Iso8 Brotherhood PvE is live, with Patch as the prize.

I've actually been enjoying the current PvP since I'm a hoarder.  My teams tend to get beat up, then I move on to another trio.  I still have maxed 1* storm/bw/im35, but kinda wishing I'd kept a juggernaut around.

 
No 1-stars here either, so I can't participate.  I don't know if it's because I don't meet the roster requirements, but I can't skip opponents in it either.  It's been a nice break for me since I'm addicted to WWE Super Card at the moment.

I have taken a backseat to playing MPQ this week but I could use just a few more patches to max mine out... I think mine is 4/2/2 right now and so I can benefit from any cover I get. I will check it out in a few minutes. I am going to start the PvP now too. If the PvE is long enough I may start it Thursday morning.

What is the sub event situation looking like?

You dont need 1 stars for the PvP. Everyone is just on the same playing field as before where you can use anyone and they are just boosted.

Unless I am wrong? I havent started it yet but I read that was what it was again.

You need to have a 1*, 2*, and 3* on your team. If you don't have a 1*, you can't play... AT ALL.

I saw a level 101 Juggernaut in my nodes. Considering that the game just adds 100 to the level of each character, looks like all you really need is a 1* cover and a slot to put it in.

And yeah, the icon went a little 'busy'. Preferred the old one, too.
 
Hm the icon randomly changed 6 hours after updating my game.. hahah My phone is on its last leg anyway.

Yeah I dont like it either, I prefer the old one too.

And yeah Koju that is what I did. I had like 1500 ISO so I was like whatever i will just buy a new slot and a recruit token.

Sure as shit I get a 1 star Widow... which with my only other 2* being OBW makes her not usable. So I buy another and bam, 2* Thor. Awesome. Then I go again and finally get one I can use with Yelena. She sucks but whoever I would get is just there to let the other two compete.

Looks like not many people are playing. I won three matches this afternoon and was at #12 haha Surely it has fallen since but all I need anyway is top 100 since my Torch is 5/5/2 right now anway!

And since the PvE is a 10 day event I will likely be hopping in sometime Thursday probably unless there is some crazy subevent stuff I shouldnt miss?

 
I hate how tiny the trash can icons on the team ups are.   I'd really like an easier way to select those.

I've got about 400 points in the 3 star event now. I like this style.  Once one two star is down, I just rotate someone new in. Don't need to worry about healing packs.

YES YES YES YES!!! Damn you for showing me this game. Started playing and lucked out by getting Rare Natalya after my 2nd match and cases give me a win in the best of 3 if there is a diva match. Have 67 wins and 7 losses.

 
Ugh that sucks about the Fury required node. Had a feeling that was going to happen though. Is he in the token rotation?

On the bright side, this is my PvP bracket haha I started yesterday afternoon and expected it to go up... But it hasn't really at all. I only need the Green Torch but this way I get a bonus IW AND 6000 ISO after selling the extra red and black Torch covers. Plus I plan to hit 700 before it ends so there is the progression reward 1000 ISO too! All that equates top about only three or four levels for my Hood, but I will take it!

*as I was typing this, I won another battle apparently too haha I am just using my maxed Thor and OBW along with my level 1 Yelena.

Well, I goofed and send Fury off yesterday for someone to use as a Team Up. He still has 16 hours on patrol. I can call him back for 200+ HP to use in his nodes. Sheesh.

I don't remember who I gave it to, but if you have it and can burn it to see if he comes back for me, that would be great.

I didnt realize that we couldnt use the characters we send out!

That is lame. I am going to send all of you my 1 Star Yelena ; P

 
If Fury's needed for the special nodes, I probably won't even bother with the PvP event.

I was up to 10th place in the three star tournament. Figured I didn't need to shield since there was 18 hours left (late last night)

Woke up this morning and dropped to 50th.

I lost 160 points in 2 hours this morning myself. Womp.

 
So I got really busy at work this morning, and completely forgot about the first 2 subs, and almost forgot about the Combined Arms event. Had a few spare tokens, so I pulled a Jugs and jumped in with 30 minutes to go. Just enough time to score 3 (yes, count 'em, 3) Human Torch covers. Now THAT was the perfect time to jump into an event. If I wouldn't have f'ed up one round, I would've scored a token, too.

I'll take a 5th place finish with 228 points.
