While I would like to think every job would try to accommodate a pregnant and new mother, I also can see where the city would be coming from.  If you have a job that requires you to do certain things, you have to do them or quit/get fired.  If they dont have any available positions for you to move to, tough shit, you made the decision to get pregnant.   If I decide that I want to work a 3 day work week, my job would tell me to take a hike.  If an athlete gets fat and slow and cant play at a high level anymore, he is let go as well.

BTW, I recently had an employee of mine on maternity leave and had no problem with her taking the 3 months off that the company pays for.  I also allowed her some extra trime before and after, but she had to take her vacation time because its company policy.

if the company can prove that a woman being pregnant impacts her ability to do her job, they can replace her. Best course of action is to try to move her to another position if possible, but if she's unwilling and she literally can't do her job, she can be replaced. Just because someone gets knocked up doesn't make them invulnerable.

You're company gives 3 months *PAID* maternity leave? Jesus Christ! I'd get pregnant every year.

I think I'm going with just Sly, I want Revelations but I gotta stop buying games I've finished. Rarely go back. Finished it on the 3DS.

Pretty sure she could file for FMLA to protect her job til she is able to work it again though. That's what this police lady should have to do. A company doesn't NEED to find you an easier job within the company because you are pregnant or sick.

Bingo, FMLA. A lot of my employees have FMLA too. Most dont use it, but just in case they all have it in their back pocket.

This is true too but FMLA would save them usually. Some people find it hard to believe, but most people dont want to screw over the company and most companies dont really want to screw over people and open themselves up for lawsuits.

And yeah, 3 months paid maternity leave AND most people have at least 3 weeks vacation.

I have 4 weeks because I am a manager.

Alright grabbed Sly, now I can finish 2 on the PS3 and sell off the collection on disc. I also got a $10 code from Amazon for $9.99, can't believe Sony has been jipping us this whole time. The best part is I got a $5 Amazon GC through Bing Rewards so $4.99 Sly FTW! :)

As a manager, I hate FMLA. Regulations and eligibility are way too lenient. Anyone who says they get frequent headaches and could get a doctor to sign off on that could probably qualify.

I went to the sale page and I wondered why God of War Collection Vita did not have any price at all. I clicked on it and then there was a choose version where one was free and one was 9.99. Is that the old trials glitch thing happening again or is the free one just the demo?

I did the trials thing way back when and could have done the glitch to get the Vita one. I was too scared I was going to get Tyler'd and did not pull the trigger.
I wish I had my Vita here to check, but I really think this sale reactivated the glitch for if you had already "bought" the trials for GOW Collection on PS3 that the Vita version showed up as free. I added the free one to my cart and checked out. Now on select version it just has the download to your vita button and not the option to buy for 9.99.

Why do you hate work if you're in management and work for a company with great benefits like that?

You're a worse complainer than Therm.
Again, I always complain about WORK, not really about my job or the company. I hate work because there are a lot of dumbasses. But from what I know of everyone else's jobs they are everywhere.

Also, I work for a large corporation. Most have pretty good benefits, but the bureaucracy and dumbassess get in the way.

But you didnt actually get paid time off unless you had vacation accrued right? FMLA only protects your job.
yep, but I had accrued something like 20 weeks of paid sick time and had another 4-5 weeks of vacation each time, so there wasn't too much in the way of unpaid time off. working at the same place for 14 years has very few benefits, but that's one of em I guess.
