Glad I kept not buying PSASBR.

I didn't realizing Velocity 2X was PS4. Lame. Looks good but I don't want to wait. TxK I have but is not fun at all IMO. Hoard looks okay for a cell phone game. Joe Danger: The Movie I played on PC and wasn't that good, so regular old Joe Danger I'm not sure about.

So yeah...weak month overall. No real headliner.

I rarely disagree with you but I'm breaking ranks on this. I thought True Detective was great. A definite slow burner but the payoff was so worth it. I'm optimistic about S2 as long as the rumors about Vince Vaughn aren't true. I enjoyed Fargo as well but are you sure they're making a season 2? I don't see how that would work.
Ultimately the failing of True Detective to me was the character of Rust.Cohle, he is less of a real person and more like a writer's ego/invisible friend come to life, he says and does all the things the writer wishes he could. They way he talks, his weird lengthy monologues, his philosophizen, his hyper persistent dickishness, it rings hollow. It's just like the monologue Jeff Daniel's starts the first episode of the Newsroom with, the facts are amazing, but it's not real. It feels like an article being read aloud, it's not something a real person could come up with and speak off the cuff. So you have this very real / gritty, very well designed setting and decent story, but Rust just breaks my sense of immersion way too often.

Though Velocity 2X coming out free for PS+ is a big deal. I like that. I would just like some of the older higher-profile games to hit as well. Even Knack would be fine. They'll have to start giving those at some point, right?  :-({|=

Hey, there's always October! ...Or November. Or December. :???:

Best thing I can say about that list is my 2 PSASBR scores should be going up on true trophies.

In all seriousness, it is not bad. I only have PSASBR. However, I am not sure if I will bother playing many of the other games either.

What's the other cross-buy title? Playstation All-Stars?
Yes.

I'm actually most excited for that Sportsfriends game. I read a bunch of good reviews for it, but didn't feel like spending money since it is local MP only. Getting it for free is sweet and I'll definitely boot it up next time I have people over.

The title that makes this month is Sportsfriends. Sorry, people who do not have kids to play local MP with…. But now I'll need some extra controllers. Also isn't that cross-buy with PS3? Mostly useful because you can play JSJoust with more players on there. Not that I have any Move controllers or even more than 3 DS3s….

Velocity 2X (PS4, PS Vita)
Sportsfriends (PS4, PS3)
PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale (PS3, PS Vita)
Hoard (PS3)
Joe Danger (PS Vita)
TxK (PS Vita)

Sportsfriends looks like mild trophy-earning fun for 30 minutes to an hour. I won't be able to 100% it, though, since I only have 2 PS3/PS4 controllers and one trophy requires 3 controllers.

One thing to note: It's cross-buy for PS3/PS4, but only if you buy the PS3 version, according to PST.org's trophy guide. So hopefully when these go live, the PS3 version will also show up as free; otherwise, we'll all be stuck with just the PS4 version.

Oh man, I wanted to buy Velocity 2x. Way to go Sony.

How do the devs of Velocity 2X even make money if its free on ps plus?

sportsfriends timing is pretty smart assuming shareplay comes through. seems like a good title for people to try it out on.

happy enough for the pile of mediocre vita games, like most I already have psabr. AAA titles have definitely started diminishing in frequency and more often I now find myself saying that I'll skip a couple of the freebies, but it's still good.

I need some place to clearance Move controllers for $10 or less….
I think I got my last one from BB for that a while back. You can get relatively close with a GS B2G1. Would still be just over $13 for each that way.

The blog says both versions, I guess we will see if that is a typo later or not.

Yeah if it could work well through Shareplay that would be sweet. I want to check out Sportsfriends but I don't do a lot of local MP gaming. And when I do have friends over, they're not going to want to play a game like Sportsfriends anyway.

I'll probably be the only one to vote very good. Mostly riding on my excitement for Sportsfriends. I don't really need 6 games to play. I barely manage to play the games I have, so a couple good games is good for that score from me. Also, playing a game like Sportsfriends just for trophies... sucks to be you.

Why do they do stuff like this? Makes things so confusing.

But yeah, it sounds like they'll have to make both the PS3 and PS4 versions free if we actually do get both of them.

Dude, they're free trophies. Why not?

Regarding shareplay, a question I have is does this work for more than 2 players? I've not seen any mention of how many players it supports, but I'm guessing it's only 2.

PS All Stars $5 - June 16th

TxK $4.89 - July 1st

Not terribly thrilled with the Sept games. Stupidly payed for TxK a while back on the sale. Didn't really like Joe Danger when we got it free on PS3 like a year ago, but I'll probably try it again. Got PSASBR free from a weird BB price match/coupon thing a while ago. And I've been playing Velocity 2X already so that's another nothing for me.

I did want to try SportsFriends, but don't really have people to play with. Maybe my son can play some of that. And no clue what Horde is.

So yeah, big ol' pile of meh.

But Velocity 2X is fucking awesome and is gonna be a treat for y'all.

But in all seriousness, I would pay $2.50/month ($30/year) just for access to one high-quality indie game per month.  The other 5 games are just gravy.

Definitely not my favorite month ever, but $2.50 (or even $4.16 if I paid full price for my sub) for Velocity 2X, Sportsfriends, and the Vita version of Joe Danger for me is still an amazing deal.  Anyone who says PS+ isn't worth the value either has an extremely selective taste in games or is an idiot.

I paid full price for TxK. Or maybe it was a release PS+ discount. I think so. I don't mind as more of you will be on the leader boards, but practically speaking I know you won't play it much so there won't be any real leader board competition as a result. Still, I haven't played in a while and this will get me to fire it up again. Last I'd heard they were working on bringing it to PS4. I haven't heard much since (mostly because I stopped following Minter on twitter because… well try following him on twitter for a while and you'll see). I assume it is still coming. Hopefully cross-buy.

I'm cool with the Plus offerings, wanted 2X big time glad it will be free and on Vita to boot. I'm so glad I waited on PSABR...as I knew it would be free at some point. I have Joe Danger on the PS3 but bought it cheap and didn't get too far so having it on Vita will be nice, seems like a good fit. I'd say in general the PS3\PS4 offerings are weak but the it's a solid month for Vita.

How long to beat/plat Zimm?

Volition to reveal new game Friday. I really hope it's something new. I feel like Saints Row has run its course. They really can't get any crazier than 4, and I don't really see them trying to dial back the insanity any either. They should just drop the series or let it cool off a bit IMO.

I hope some of you guys check out Hoard.  It's simple but can get addictive.  Assuming the servers are still up I'll jump online and play with you guys as well.

I never played Tempest, so TxK had no nostalgia love for me. TxK just felt like an endless and pointless stream of bright things coming down the screen to be shot at. I played it for a half hour or hour or so but just wasn't getting into it.

Velocity 2X, hated 1

Sportsfriends, 100%

PS All Stars, 100% x2

Hoard, :oldman: pass

Joe Danger, :nottalking:

TxK - glitch trophies, pass

Here's my stats year to date:

PSN Purchases 2014

Total Games Bought  47
Total Cost    $224.62
Average Cost    $4.78
Total PS3 Games Bought    24
Total Vita Games Bought    21
Total PS4 Games Bought    2

I splurged on a PS4 title at $30, a Vita at $20, and a PS3 at $20.

I'd say other than that I'm doing pretty good.

I loved Tempest and even more so Tempest 2000, so TxK was right up my alley. My only problem with TxK is in the later levels the rotating gets kind of insane and I'm not sure I like that. Still, while it doesn't quite reach the awesomeness level of Tempest 2000, it's still very good.

Really excited for Velocity 2X, Sportsfriends, and TxK. Mildly interested in the others. The only one I had was All Stars, so all in all a good month in my opinion. Velocity makes it for me alone
