I know very little about Skylanders; can any of you tell me if this is a good value for a kid who's new to Skylanders? I'm thinking of going with this instead of the new Skylanders or Infinity 2.0. I think he'll enjoy Skylanders more, and buying the older version will be cheaper.
That is a pretty good deal. You can usually find the Swap Force set for $30-50 nowadays (I got it for $35 in March I believe). And those 3-packs are typically around $25 at Target with the single around $12. So basically you're paying for the figures and getting the starter set with the game for free.

My son got it for his 6th birthday and loves it. Some of the platforming can get tricky, especially playing co-op because you're tethered together. But the combat isn't terribly hard and my boy loves buying upgrades for all the dudes. He also has a blast switching all the pieces around and using the many characters in a level. Levels can get a little bit long and there's tons of collectables. Story is like a cheesy Saturday morning cartoon.

I think that set's a great deal and would go for it.

I made it to 30 perfects on Ultra this morning. And I suck because it took me a good hour just to get it in 29 & 30. These last 20 are gonna be a chore aren't they?

Destiny plays great and now playing the retail version, I think double dipping on the alpha and beta wasn't the right choice. Haven't done the The Devil's Lair Strike, but curious why story progression hasn't continued. Weren't there four planets?
First Moon mission should be unlocked if you've done the Earth story missions. It counts as one of the four "planets."

Alright, who is going to make an alt account named Antitherm and spend all their time talking about how much they like everything in every game and just generally how delightful everything is?
We all those Vigges because he loves everything.
Uh...I guess I fill that niche already? :???:

I don't love Destiny, though. That doesn't look like it would hold my interest for very long, but at least it doesn't annoy me.

You shut your dirty whore mouth! The Internet told me Destiny will be the greatest game of all time!

And does anyone know where Tyler is? Does he have the PS4 yet?

He must be gearing up to go. I don't think I'm going to start Destiny until Thursday since that's when my LE comes. Then I can just keep the in box copy sealed and sell it as new.

PS4 ghost editions selling for $300 on eBay. Steel book only listings are getting $25-30. Just a heads up in case someone wants to get in on this madness before the hype dies.

why does this keep happening??? I thought for sure it wouldn't last when I was selling preorder dlc codes from best buy for $20-$30 years ago but it just. keeps. happening.

there's NO WAY there's this many people that are simultaneously poor planners AND have a bunch of extra cash lying around. it's almost an oxymoron.

Emphasis on "moron".

I'm sure that these are also people who would have been absolutely furious if Bungie put a retail tag of $300 on it, but have no issues paying some reseller that price.

tell me not to buy infamous second son for $18 today from gamefly. I haven't even played infamous 2 or the blood one. it'll be cheaper and I won't play it now. right???

Yeah, don't do that. Don't know how much tax is in your state but that's around $20 for something you won't play for a while. :shame:

Right. I could definitely see it going for $15 ($10 would be pushing it) during another Gamefly sale.

You guys are lying to him.  Second Son is out of print.  They wont make any more!  It will only go up in price as Sony converts all PS4 games to digital only!  Dont wait!

speaking of out of print, ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 has done the same thing that mvc2 did - used copies are starting to creep up to the $35-$40 mark. I'm just doing the gf trial to rent a copy so I can knock out two trophies that are obnoxious as hell to get against real people or the cpu.

so if you have a copy (especially a new sealed copy), hang on to it and make phat buckzzz later.

Speaking of that...

I just had mine sell on eBay for $300. Buyer is in canada...how worried should I be about shipment issues/buyer claiming he didn't receive it? He has all positive feedback but I don't sell on eBay much if ever so I want to make sure I'm not getting scammed.

(Disgusting sounding) Oreo flavor update:

Buy the shipping label through eBay with tracking and Delivery/Signature Confirmation and pray that nothing bad happens.

it'll be a hot pain in the ass if there's any sort of issue. with the positive feedback you're probably fine but if you have one of those people try to offer a reasonable token discount instead of being a hardass about a return - by the time you got it back the furor will be over anyways.

I've never had any issues with people outside of the u.s., but I've still stopped accepting bids from them.

Are you not open to "renting" a copy through Gamestop (unless it'll take you more than a week to get those trophies), or are there no copies in your area?

Were you the one for $295 that I was watching that ended a little bit ago?

This is true. I also don't sell outside of the U.S., so I forgot about the potential customs issue. :whistle2:k
I was told by eBay customer service that as long as it reaches the location to clear customs, you are good to go. Based on everything they told me, you're at no larger risk than selling within the US. I've sold a few items to buyers in other countries without a problem, aside from the guy leaving me negative feedback because he didn't read the listing. Easy as could be to get the feedback removed though.

Couldn't agree more. Just because it's fall doesn't mean everygoddamnthing has to be pumpkin flavored.

Pumpkin coffee!
Pumpkin licorice!
Pumpkin waffles!
Pumpkin lube!
Those Oreos look fuck ing nasty. I hate pumpkin pie so anything pumpkin flavor is a no go for me.

I love it when I get organizational announcements from people that I have never heard of and they list 10 people changing roles that I have never heard of either.

No, $299.99 (listed it when they were going for $330). I also set free shipping and the buyer messaged me immediately after the auction to say he won't be able to pay till later this week or beginning of next because an issue with his Visa and Paypal...I'm a little worried.

I'm glad you said that, closest copy was 13 miles away but one sprang up last night not too far away at all. thanks!
This reminded me of this time I was in Gamestop, and a guy came back to return a game. Can't remember what the game was. Walks up to the counter with the manager at the register and says "I beat this game and didn't like it, so I want to return it." Manager refused the return since he told him he beat the game. Is that at the manager's discretion, and did he have the right to do that? Pretty dumb of the customer to mention he finished the game though.

Also, you have to play all the way through a game to see if you like it? LOL.

Hmm...I'd say to not ship it until you receive payment, but eBay might mark that against you (unless I'm mistaken).
