I'm going to throw out this wild, almost crazy idea to everyone that obviously hasn't been thought of yet.

If you don't like Destiny...don't play it. Holy shit that's fucking genius! Everyone complaining about it seems to have no problem sinking hours and hours into it.
 
There's the old guy and wife that my mother-in-law is friends with, who have lots of money, but apparently own a pretty dilapidated house. Some rich people have money just for having money's sake. It's so weird.

No, he's just a little weird. And it's friggen 8am.
He's cleaning out all the "germs".

I've come to the conclusion that he suffers OCD with cleanliness. He goes outside his house to cough, does at least three loads of laundry a day (the load is like a shirt for example not a normal size load), wears white gloves when he goes to said laundry room, won't let his kids play outside if anyone else is outside, if my door is open hell close his door even if it's 100 degrees like it was yesterday, things like that.

I am far from a germaphobe, but it is funny seeing you mention a kid having a wet head and getting sick right after talking about the guy who stays away from germs. Oddly, as far as getting sick, he is closer to reality than you are with this.

I dunno. I was always told no wet hair with cold air when I was a kid so I do it for my kid.

But this guy is friggen nuts. I feel sorry for his kids, he has them like prisoners in their house.

lolol, this is grand coming from the fellow who hated on everything up until recently.

You can enjoy a game for what it does right, but still remain critical and hold it accountable for where it falls flat. What makes Destiny stand out is how "huge" it was supposed to be and the various lines of bullshit that Bungie ran with while creating the hype. It more than deserves to be called out and I'm glad to see that it is. But sure, I'm still having some fun playing it.
 
As far as the minecraft news I wonder if Sony would pull the game from their platforms, because they are now selling a competitors project. Also they expect to break even during 2015... How the fuck are they going to do that? I don't see people buying consoles for minecraft. Also did you guys know that microsoft paid 400 million for the Nfl Surface deal and announcers are calling them Ipads lol. Idiots.

Like what? What lines of bullshit? Please tell us them, since you keep bringing them up (my guess is you pulled a Snakey and saw someone in GAF or Reddit saying this and it suddenly became your opinion too). Please post the lines of bullshit, and the direct source where a Bungie person actually said this line of bullshit.

And again, like I said before...they've had videos, an alpha, demos, a beta...and all of that matches pretty closely what we're seeing now. If you fell for something that didn't exist, that's your fault.

And when I hate a game, really really hate it to the point that I'm obviously obsessing over the tiniest little nitpicky things, I would quit playing it.
 
I don't think I've actually seen(read) a post on here from Stotch hating on a game. I mean he complains sometimes about things that he doesn't really like, but you guys all do that. Far from hating.
 
I have $ to buy ps4, I have gamestop/bestbuy/amazon credit. It's just a matter of not wanting to abandon my backlog. I'm gonna quit my cod clan this year and take a year to knock out my backlog, then I'll go get a ps4 sometime.

also got a Legendary helmet when I went 0/1 last night in crucible (I had just joined my bud's fireteam) then I went 21/7 and got nothing. This mp reward system is so random.

Haha well, yeah, you've known us for two months? It was a long running joke in another thread but he's definitely reeled it in. I didn't mean it as an insult just pointing out the irony.

I know I haven't know you all long. But from what I've noticed Stotch doesn't hate, maybe he used to, but I wouldn't know that. I've made opinions of you all from my time here, nothing bad. Like one person just really wants to fit in and doesn't know how, another is always negative about everything, etc

I haven't played mine craft so maybe this is why I view it this way, but it doesn't look like anything special. Why the big hubbub about it? The mine craft guy looks like a wannabe Lego to me

Word is AP will be back this week, but who knows what will happen in the long run. I so wish I could go back in time and make those trades. Morenos out for awhile. My top rb is Ahmad Bradshaw, I fucking hated that guy when he was on the Giants.

Notch is actually a really cool, humble dude. I think he's just stressed over the fame now, which I think most people would be. Suddenly you have millions of people watching your every move, freaking out about any little thing you say, coming up to you and yelling out to you at conventions; some people might enjoy the fame but I think he just wants a break at this point.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but Notch has never been a huge whiner compared to some of the others I've seen. I thought his explanation as to why he sold the company was interesting:

I don't see myself as a real game developer. I make games because it's fun, and because I love games and I love to program, but I don't make games with the intention of them becoming huge hits, and I don't try to change the world. Minecraft certainly became a huge hit, and people are telling me it's changed games. I never meant for it to do either. It's certainly flattering, and to gradually get thrust into some kind of public spotlight is interesting.

A relatively long time ago, I decided to step down from Minecraft development. Jens was the perfect person to take over leading it, and I wanted to try to do new things. At first, I failed by trying to make something big again, but since I decided to just stick to small prototypes and interesting challenges, I've had so much fun with work. I wasn't exactly sure how I fit into Mojang where people did actual work, but since people said I was important for the culture, I stayed.

I was at home with a bad cold a couple of weeks ago when the internet exploded with hate against me over some kind of EULA situation that I had nothing to do with. I was confused. I didn't understand. I tweeted this in frustration. Later on, I watched the This is Phil Fish video on YouTube and started to realize I didn't have the connection to my fans I thought I had. I've become a symbol. I don't want to be a symbol, responsible for something huge that I don't understand, that I don't want to work on, that keeps coming back to me. I'm not an entrepreneur. I'm not a CEO. I'm a nerdy computer programmer who likes to have opinions on Twitter.

As soon as this deal is finalized, I will leave Mojang and go back to doing Ludum Dares and small web experiments. If I ever accidentally make something that seems to gain traction, I'll probably abandon it immediately.

Considering the public image of me already is a bit skewed, I don't expect to get away from negative comments by doing this, but at least now I won't feel a responsibility to read them.

I'm aware this goes against a lot of what I've said in public. I have no good response to that. I'm also aware a lot of you were using me as a symbol of some perceived struggle. I'm not. I'm a person, and I'm right there struggling with you.

I love you. All of you. Thank you for turning Minecraft into what it has become, but there are too many of you, and I can't be responsible for something this big. In one sense, it belongs to Microsoft now. In a much bigger sense, it's belonged to all of you for a long time, and that will never change.

Besides that last sentence (of course it's mostly about the money) it gives you a good view of his outlook on Minecraft. He's not even doing ANYTHING with it anymore except collecting money from it, yet everyone online still sees him as the head of Minecraft, including several in this thread. But he's not working on it at all anymore, real developers are working on it, while he works on other tiny pet projects.

Minecraft was an absolute fluke. We've all said that MS buying Mojang for it's video game talent was moronic. There was never going to be a 2nd hit for Mojang. Notch knows this, but he can't just go back to making games that he wants to make with Minecraft hanging over his head, because everything will be compared to it and fall short. With him no longer having any connection with Minecraft "officially", he's hoping he can fade back into obscurity somewhat. We'll see if that happens.
