Something super weird just happened. I went to watch the clip from South Park about the old fashioned and an ad for that Mulaney show played before it. fucking weird.
 
I don't want to post in that other thread Stotch, but yeah, I couldn't get into N+ at all.  The controls were so floaty and annoying, the physics totally ruined the game.  If it played like a normal platformer I probably would have loved it.  I'm sure I'll hate N++ too.

He was nearly 30 by the time he started training in a technique that's viable in MMA, and he's pushing 50 now. UFC didn't really take off until he was close to 40. He made better money doing what he did than toiling in anonymity.

Luckily, I think I read that Ubisoft actually took the feedback that you can give after each mission, saw that people were voting against the tailing missions, and promised to cut down on them for future games.

Dude was a writer on SNL for a long time. He's the dude that created Stefon with Bill Hader, the best Weekend Update guest of all time. I read a review that says each episode improves on the previous one. The commercials do make it look kinda lame, but I'll check it out for a while because of his Stefon credentials alone.
 
Beat Shadow of Mordor. Ending was a bit meh. Overall there were some good times, and then there were some stupid video game times ("Hey, you know that thing you just did? Do it 4 more times.")

Won't force myself to finish off trophies. Gonna trade it in while the going is good. Time to think about if I want to pick up Evil Within or wait until Far Cry 4. Maybe even the new Call of Duty since I've skipped the last 3 and I have to admit that while I know the new one will have those stupid CoD moments (like your controlled character dying 10 times because oh my god remember that time you died from the nuke in Modern Warfare 1?) it still looks like it would be fun. But I'm mostly interested in the single player campaign and that's easy to blow through in a rental.

This was right about the time I finally had to give up and go to bed. I wanted to see the end of the game, but I just could not stay awake. I see that they held on this time. Seems like almost every higher ranked team lost yesterday.

 
Great performance by Tim Hudson last night too. I wouldn't mind seeing the Giants win the World Series so Huddy can get a ring.

Do power struggle missions ever stop popping up in Shadow of Mordor? Trying to figure out if I should bother doing them once I've unlocked all upgrade tiers.

let's fish is temporarily back in my good graces now that I have a lure that doesn't suck and have managed to catch a few enormous fish finally.  never have I had such a tumultuous relationship with a video game in my entire life.

Edit - in case it's not clear, I really don't understand why I can't stop playing this game.  I don't feel obsessed and I don't feel like I have to plat it.  I also genuinely don't hate my time with it, but there's got to be something better I could be doing with my life.

8 hours into Persona 4 Golden and I've only visited the dungeon 2 or 3 times. What's the point of leveling up my social ranks if I never get any Persona cards to go with them? Too much social drama, too little game.

Same reason I bailed on P3. I loved Persona 2, though.

Yeah, they held on. UCLA missed a 55 yard field goal badly, but their kicker flopped and drew a Running into the kicker flag, and then he just barely missed the 50 yard field goal wide right. It was all set up for another U of U heartbreaking loss, but fate was actually on the U's side for a change.

All I know about Northwestern is that Wilbon went there and they used to suck at everything. But I've always kind of liked them and Binghamton cuz of Wilbon and Kornheiser.

No need to do the red missions unless you enjoy them or want to increase your power meter XP thing to unlock new ability tiers.

I was only looking for a few minutes and got one to pop up. I just didn't know what to do to "help" the captain, it was weird.

I think if you use "Advance Time" on the fast travel places that should help some new Red missions pop up every time. I think.

Yeah, she went to a shitty school because her father was an idiot who let his football allegiances play into her future. He is a UM fan. No he never attended UM. He is one of those...

Oh, I understand the benefit of having my social rank up. But what's the point if I can't even go the the dungeon to use that benefit? Haven't even had the option to go into the TV for several days.

I liked this because letting allegiance get in the way is dumb. But you kind of sound lime that a bit yourself. Fsu has some good programs like any school. Uf is clearly better overall but doesn't make them the greatest school ever.

I wont disagree with that. They do have a couple of good programs. Luckily one is accounting which is what my wife got a degree in. However, their general admit anyone with a pulse is what gives them a bad name. Even the show Will and Grace made a joke out of it.

PST.org's trophy guide says you have to brand the captain first, help him survive the Recruitment mission (i.e., make sure he doesn't die), then immediately kill him and the new guys who "joined" him once you get the confirmation that he leveled up. I wonder if you even have to brand him, though--I messed up with the Recruitment mission I did and thought I had to kill the captain when I next encountered him elsewhere instead of immediately after that mission. If another one pops up, I'll try doing it without branding the captain.

Which "branch" of main missions eventually opens up branding--Ratbag, Outcasts, or Gollum/Wraith memory-stuff? I suspect the first one, but I wanted to be sure so I know which ones to focus on finishing.

Or you're going for the non-gathering trophies that require leveling up captains. But you could also just find the guy you want to level up and have him kill you on purpose, I suppose.
