This game is pretty rad. Based more on the graphic novels then the movie (as far as art and locations, even though both are pretty similar). It's a fun brawler in the River City Ransom mold. Hard at first, but gets easier once you level up. I still can't beat the final boss though. Also online was glitchy and probably dead now, but I'd try to play some rounds with you people.
Supposedly the online netcode is pretty bad from what I've heard.

I haven't actually played online since you have to buy the online DLC to play it. I'm sure this bundle has that DLC, but doesn't really help me since I don't need the bundle, just the online DLC to go on sale.

BTW, I read a couple of posts saying that TEW (sorry, Gator) gets better around Ch. 9 or so.

I tried to play an online game after the DLC came out and it was pretty poor. Laggy and not many people. I'm willing to give it another shot though. I listen to the soundtrack on its own quite often.

Been trying to do more backlog reduction. I know you told me I should try Blood Money before giving up on the Hitman Trilogy, but after reading some reviews it sounds like it's not that different from 2 and Contracts. You played Absolution? Thinking I may just skip straight to it.

Also thought about selling the Splinter Cell Trilogy, but I think I'm just gonna skip Pandora Tomorrow and play Chaos Theory. It sounds a bit more lenient and action-oriented, which should make it more fun for me.
Blood Money has many of the same tools, but you use those tools in different ways. 2 and to a lesser extent Contracts is about infiltrating strongholds with guards on high alert so you will spend a lot of your time sneaking around and hiding. Bloody Money is about hiding in plain sight, blending in in public places, and then deciding how best to murder them whether it be something more active like a gun shot or a strangling or something subtler like a remote mine on a chandelier line so it falls and crushes them. Blood Money = LEGO Murder Simulator as there are so many different ways to accomplish your goal. If you don't really like using stealth you might try Absolution as you still have to use stealth, but the gunplay feels a bit cleaner than the other Hitman games.

wooow, and im almost maxed out at melee too -_-
Why would you do that? The game basically tells you not to. The exact wording on the melee upgrade page says:

"Increases the slight amount of damage inflicted when striking enemies."

Even fully upgraded, it's still going to be a slight amount of damage. It will just be slightly less slight.

Dear people of the thread:

Don't ever buy Jet Stunt Cars. Even if it hits Tyler's magical $1 price. It may look like fun, but the frustrating outweighs any actual fun contained within.
I paid about that much for the game on mobile. Was hoping the real controls would help improve the game. So it still sucks?

Have you listened to Anamanaguchi's standalone work? That band did the music, and I really enjoy their chiptune style.

ill unsilence/ban ya and make you a mod. yeah that nightmare mod is ban happy, my girl just told me he banned my buddy and his girl reptar when i was out of the room.
I wasn't there cept for bjs. I was playing The Evil Within and just chilln, lol.
i walked in and some dude tipped 230 tokens for me to get a dude bj and im like wtf and had the girls give bjs.
It's a trap!
goodnight guys ;)
Yeah matt was like "I'm telling Velo you banned his friend" and then he got banned too. Guy needs to take a chill pill. I promise you that you ere the only stream on CB that had someone tipping for a guy to do a roundhouse kick.

Those holding out hope for Walking Dead to perform better on the PS4 I think are going to be disappointed because the main problem doesn't appear to be the engine (though it is A problem), but that tell tale just are shitty logic coders. Had two coding error that kept me from progressing. One I exited the train engine and no reticule appeared no matter how many times I re-entered and exited. Then later on once I unhooked something and passed through an area, I met a new character, but then no one would acknowledge that I had unhooked it. So I went back to check if I had to do something else to unhook it, still unhooked, passed through that area again and it looped the introduction to the new character again.
Why did you guys think this new-gen version would be any better? Telltale sucks ass at the actual nuts and bolts of making a game, they've been that way for years. Why would they magically get way better at coding on the new, more advanced systems?

We don't like the Mannings around here.

But good news guys, three weeks ago, Brady was the worst QB in the history of the game and only ever successful because of the coach and teammates he had. Now after the last two games, he's back to being the greatest of all time. I'm so glad he was able to recover from that!

{asshole image redacted}

He beat the Patriots. Twice.

He preserved the Dolphins' only perfect season.

He could start murdering puppies as a hobby and he'd still be a hero to me.
He also defeated Packer teams that were way better than his team on the way to beating those Patriots both times. He lucked into those fucking Super Bowl wins and he's the devil.

Yeah I've listened to their full albums a few times and bought the one that had the bit.trip runner 1 theme song on it. I almost went to see them live when they came to town a couple years ago, but couldn't find anyone to go with.

I love me some chip tunes. I sometimes seek out chip tunes versions of favorite albums. The OK Computer one is damn damn good, along with Muse & Metallica covers.

Velo's streaming you guys. Well he's not there. There's some obnoxious dude just talking forever.

But I totally got the guy to do a roundhouse kick because I told him there's no way he could do it. After that happened, the mod silenced me. Even though, someone tipped 20 tokens to see him do the kick!
I wouldn't have believed this if I wasn't there. I was SURE he was going to break that TV too.

Here's that awesome tune if you're not familiar. It's really good. Was my wake-up alarm tune for a good bit.

1. It seemed far too abrupt, plus the final boss was a QTE (though I knew that from Destructoid's review).
2. The entire game focused on how Talion was doing everything so he could finally die and be with his dead wife and son, and he suddenly says "screw it, we have to fight Sauron" at the last minute because sequel fodder. Murdered: SS's Ronan had a similar motive, and he finally moved on at the end, which I really liked.
3. "The time has come for a new Ring"? Seriously? How about no, since that never happened, nor will that ever happen according to Tolkien?
There's a lot of years to cover between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. About 80 or so. They went deep into the lore and because of that, it made it interesting. Going a bit deeper, there could be a new ring, but it would be as strong as the owner. Being a Maiar, Sauron is one of the strongest beings on Middle Earth, alongside the Istari. He used Celebrimbor as means to create the rings to bind all the races through the One Ring he later created. I did like the backstory of Celebrimbor and he being the "Bright Lord of Mordor". Perhaps he wages a losing war, but if that justifies a sequel, so be it.

Damn there was some serious drama with that dude last night.

Definitely wanted to see some dude/dude stuff and when they you said you don't do that he was acting like he wanted a refund. Not sure why he's on straight streams if he wants to see that stuff. Pretty sure there were thousands of other streams that he could have watched.

I must be the only person who didn't like this game. I really wanted to like it and did for a bit. Then got stuck in someone's house and no desire to go back outside to round up more health (I think) so I could complete the boss like battle.
Hmmm. That doesn't sound right.

The game is really not challenging at all. Not sure why you would have felt stuck somewhere.

This Speedlunky trophy is a pain in the ass. Maybe I'll just go back to playing normally, at least for a while. But goddamnit when you are this close to 100% it is hard to quit trying to get that last one. Stupid trophies!

I think this pretty much sums it up. I think I'm just not into stealth games. I've never really given the genre a fair shake until I bought these two trilogies, and now that I have I don't think it's for me. I really love Metal Gear Solid though. I think what it boils down to is I don't like games that are "stealth or die". I like to be able to fight out of the situation if I'm discovered. I mean you can do that in Hitman 2, but that totally misses the point, and thus the fun part of the game.

So, Spelunky.

Goal last night was to make it to the City of Gold.  Ended up making it to Yama, but fucked up and fell on some spikes since i was so inexperienced with his level.  (Ugh, still cringing thinking about it).

Anyways, it actually felt shockingly easy making it that far.  Watching Crunch's run is the best thing I could have ever done.  Showed me how to take out shopkeepers by keeping my distance, figuring which level they're on, and then firing/bombing.  Also showed me a great strategy for Olmec, worked like a fucking charm!

I really didn't feel like I got all that lucky getting there, meaning I really think I could get there again. (Hopefully I'm not jinxing it now)  I got a couple lucky head bops on one shopkeeper and had a couple luckily miss me in the black market, but besides that it was all just dedicated and slow play, making sure I don't fuck up on stupid things.

Sticky bombs + baseball mitt = the best thing ever too.

If any of you guys care, my good run is below, started right at the 45 minute mark.

Also, I didn't know the reference in that shirt. That does make it more clever, but at the time it was just annoying. Therm-level annoying. Also he's friends with some of the Orioles and they weren't happy with it. He did apologize to them, so that's something. Still not sure I can root for them in the WS, and I don't care about either NL team.

Hmm, I sense a way for Chuck Norris to make a shit ton of money if he ever is broke.

Nice! Yama really wasn't that hard once I finally got to him, aside from my nerves. It took me forever to get to the point of making it there, though. I'm not an uber gamer. Just love the game.

2 Spelunky questions for you pros:

1. In the ice levels, is there a way to kill yourself and respawn in the statue while still retaining what you're holding on to?  I bombed myself while holding a shotgun and apparently that made me drop the shotgun.

2. Is there any hints or tips on how to find the characters I'm missing that randomly unlock?  I still need 2 of them.  Is it just 100% random?

Stick of Truth is the BestBuy DOTD. Tempting at $20 ($16 GCU).
Of course this comes right after I spend my freebie $20. I still kind of want to pick it up anyway but I'll have to do an in-store pickup to avoid shipping fees. Hmmm decisions decisions. It's the last PS3 game on my want list but I'm playing AC4 now anyway. Maybe I should wait it out a little longer or for it to go real cheap digitally.

1. Not normally, but there is actually a bug you can exploit, but it's not even remotely easy. Check out the video on youtube of a guy doing a "solo eggplant run". But basically you need to be stuck with the ball and chain, something you really don't want to be stuck with. But if you have the ball and chain you can break through the statue via a certain technique. I'm forgetting offhand how exactly it worked. Anyway, the only reason you'd ever want to do this is so you can also do this super difficult solo eggplant run. The eggplant is a goofy thing that is supposed to only be useful in coop play.

2. Some of the characters are in the hidden levels. Like how Super Meat Boy was in the worm. You can look it up if you want. Also two are locked behind beating Olmec and beating Yama.

CBS follows HBO in targeting cord-cutters with $5.99/month VOD service via app & web

Press release in spoiler tags

NEW YORK – Oct. 16, 2014 – CBS Corporation today announced the launch of CBS All Access, a new digital subscription video on demand and Nielsen-measured live streaming service for the CBS Television Network. CBS All Access will offer subscribers thousands of episodes from the current season, previous seasons and classic shows on demand, as well as the ability to stream local CBS Television stations live in 14 of the largest U.S. markets at launch.

CBS All Access is available beginning today at CBS.com and on mobile devices through the CBS App for iOS and Android. The service allows fans to watch more CBS programming online and on mobile devices, while introducing yet another monetization window for the Company’s industry-leading content. CBS All Access will be available on other major connected devices in the coming months.

“CBS All Access is another key step in the Company’s long-standing strategy of monetizing our local and national content in the ways that viewers want it,” said Leslie Moonves, President and CEO, CBS Corporation. “This new subscription service will deliver the most of CBS to our biggest fans while being additive to the overall ecosystem. Across the board, we continue to capitalize on technological advances that help consumers engage with our world-class programming, and we look forward to serving our viewers in this new and exciting way.”

For $5.99 per month, CBS All Access includes the following programming, with more to be added in the coming months:

Full current seasons of 15 primetime shows with episodes available the day after they air.
Unprecedented ability to live stream local CBS stations in 14 of the largest markets at launch, with more to be added as affiliates join the new service.
Full past seasons of eight major current series, including THE GOOD WIFE, BLUE BLOODS and SURVIVOR.
More than 5,000 episodes of CBS Classics, including every episode of STAR TREK, CHEERS, MACGYVER, TWIN PEAKS and CSI: MIAMI.
Access to exclusive additional content for CBS Television’s biggest special events, such as THE GRAMMY® AWARDS, THE ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS and THE VICTORIA’S SECRET FASHION SHOW.
Ability to stream the BIG BROTHER 24/7 Live Feeds service for no additional fee when the show returns next summer.
Advertising-free environment for all CBS Classics.
CBS All Access offers an even more robust viewing experience on CBS.com, the #1 network website across platforms (comScore), and the CBS App, which has been downloaded more than 10 million times.

Jim Lanzone, President and CEO, CBS Interactive said: “Our focus is to develop the best cross-platform video experience possible. We want our audiences to be able to watch CBS’s industry-leading content live and on demand whenever and wherever they want. CBS All Access delivers on that promise by giving our audience not only more CBS content, but also more ways to watch in a seamless user experience. We’ve integrated the service into our existing offerings and look forward to bringing it to all major digital platforms – including additional connected devices – in the coming months.”

CBS All Access brings thousands of episodes to digital platforms, making it simple for fans looking for more CBS content to get it via one easy-to-use, multi-platform service.

Marc DeBevoise, Executive Vice President, Entertainment, Sports and News, CBS Interactive added: “Through CBS All Access, we are enabling our biggest fans to tap into CBS’s content – including the current seasons of many of the biggest shows on television – and bring it to existing and new audiences alike. CBS All Access reflects our efforts to distribute as much of our leading content as possible on new platforms in ways that are strategically sound and provide additional value to our audiences.”

The ability to live stream local CBS stations through CBS All Access was built in close collaboration with CBS’s owned and operated stations. Syncbak, in which CBS has a minority investment, powers the delivery and geo-targeting of the live feeds to in-market subscribers. At launch, live streaming will be available in CBS’s 14 owned and operated markets, including: New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis, Miami, Denver, Sacramento, Pittsburgh and Baltimore, with more to be added.

Peter Dunn, President, CBS Television Stations said: “With video consumption habits changing all the time, it is very important that we continue to provide the best local news, entertainment and sports via a service like CBS All Access. Television stations have been the fabric of local broadcasting for 75 years, and today’s announcement is part of paving the way for the next 75. We are extremely pleased to be a part of this exciting new service, and look forward to reaching a whole new set of viewers in our major markets across the country.”

Non-subscribers will continue to have access to the most recent current episodes of CBS programming on CBS.com, select CBS Audience Network partner sites and through the CBS App. Programming will be available the day after the shows air on TV, with an eight-day delay on mobile devices for primetime series only.

So again, I don't see any broadcasters streaming their shows for free ever.

The one thing I really want to know about Spelunky is how people figured this crap out in the first place. It's like a game of easter eggs. As much as I enjoyed my time with it, I think I'm done with it for now at least on the PS4...just feels better on the Vita to me. Gotta get to playing other games anyway. Peace Walker (on PSP GO) and AC4 on the PS4.

Interesting. I think it plays a bit better on PS4, and looks great on it too, but it plays and looks great on both for sure.

So again, I don't see any broadcasters streaming their shows for free ever.
If not for the weekly SEC football game, they would need to pay me to watch CBS.

Interesting. I think it plays a bit better on PS4, and looks great on it too, but it plays and looks great on both for sure.
I couldn't get used to run being R1, I guess you could change that but it felt better on the PS3 to me too for some reason. I'm guessing if I played it for awhile I'd be fine with it on the PS4 but like I said I got my fill for now anyway.
